Update based on restaurant’s reply below: Nothing was “lost in translation”. Our complaints about the portion sizes were in relation to the tasting menu. The “adult children” were perfectly comfortable with their portions. And, under no circumstances do we believe a restaurant should pace its dinner to take four hours. The three stars are based on what the rest is trying to do, which is be one of the finest in the world. If you want an example of how to execute a tasting menu perfectly, look to Per Se in NYC or the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia. One of the prettiest restaurants there is. But the setting is the shining star. The meal is not. The meal was four hours long, more courses than we can remember, the portions larger than they should be for so many courses, the food quality inconsistent among courses, and the bill with just one glass of wine was $500 per person. It was an exhausting and unenjoyable experience. We all had a course or two that we loved but the rest of the courses was a slog to the finish line. We were so happy when the meal was over and we could stop eating. Also, when we didn’t finish a course, the staff was very worried that we weren’t happy and it became a thing. It was so uncomfortable.

Dined at the gastronomic shining star last Friday evening on the day we arrived for a six night stay. An incredible way to begin our time in Paris and experience true 3 star Michelin cuisine and service. We dined inside, though the terrace in the garden is a beautiful option when warm enough. Each of the eight courses was beautiful in their own right, prepared by the talented kitchen team and served with the precision of Epicure’s highly trained staff. If you are looking for French cuisine and a dining experience at the highest level, make your reservation at Epicure and start your countdown to a gastronomic experience at the highest level. Highly recommended.

The very first 3 Michelin star restaurant we tried in Paris. Given the time difference it’s usually quite a struggle for us to keep ourselves awake during dinner time but food is quite nice. I really love the oysters wrapped with leek as it’s very unique and tasty. The scallops or prawns are cooked nicely but the dishes themselves are quite common. I also really appreciate the fact that the restaurant arranged a little birthday surprise for us so thoughtfully and even sneaked in a rose to my bf so he can give it to me. Very romantic gesture and sometimes those little things do count and shows how the restaurant cares about their customer. Great service epicure!

#98 in my Michelin Stars Challenge in Paris (follow me to see the rest). You can’t go wrong. It was the third 3 stars in 3 days for my birthday. I already published the ones from the days before (le Cinq and Arpège). You could think that one would be nub to any form of luxury after that. But no. No because, even to those who have seen a lot, Epicure (and the Bristol) is still a pleasure. Ok, so what’s extraordinary here? It’s a 3 stars, it got to be. Well, it’s also a palace. So what’s extraordinary here is that it cannot go wrong, you’re in a Palace, everything is there for you to have a perfect time. I’ll just focus on a couple of things, even though there’s a lot more to say. The service here is really the perfect (more than perfect) international 3 stars exemple. The perfect distance. The friendly smiles to put you at ease but respectful enough to preserve your intimate bubble. Have a look at the videos. You’ll understand. And then of course, you have the glasses, the plates etc… very classical but perfectly so, with a dash of modernity. I m a big fan of the plates where you can see the “biscuit “ (one part is glazed, the other part is not). At first glance they could look normal, classical but they aren’t. Which brings me to the gastronomy, at first glance, it’s very classical and very high end. My wife had the truffle cooked in a salt crust (cf videos). It’s the epitome of a 3 stars palace dish. Where else could you have a whole truffle cooked just as a dish? The answer is nowhere. Yet, the chef will add his subtle touches to respect this monument (of opulence to be honest) and balance it, complement it and even complete it. This subtle attention to the detail that may not be fully perceived goes very far. You may not realize but the bread you’re eating is not only made here, no that would be so 1%, we are way beyond that! Its flour is grounded in a mill just a few floor below you. Yes, that right, there’s not just a bakery dedicated, there’s a mill! And I guess you understood by now that the wheat is not just some premium one… But the craziest of all is that it’s not even to show off or brag about it. Of course, they ll mention it, but that’s not the goal. The goal is to have a perfect bread. Because the goal is to have a perfect meal without you realizing the effort that went behind. We had the chance to visit the infrastructure, let’s just say that the dining room doesn’t account for half of the footage. It can’t go wrong because there’s a huge amount of work, infrastructure and skills involved. You can’t go wrong picking up Epicure. It’s a solid three star. Ps: and yes, there’s a cat in the Bristol, Socrate, a sacre de Birmanie, which makes it at least two philosophers in the building with Epicure.

We had our first Michelin 3 Star experience here and it is nothing but perfection. Upon arrival we were greeted by the gracious host to our table. We even had a small table for wife’s handbag which was a very nice detail many high end restaurants missed. The staff working there was friendly and easy going. Initially you might feel being treated as royalty but their friendliness would soon make you as ease. The presentation of the food and the service we received while there were all amazing. Food itself was a little underwhelming but as I always say in my review, taste of food is very subjective thus you should always make your own judgement. I think the experience itself is well worth the trouble of making reservation weeks in advance. I thought about going into more details into the service and food but felt lack of words to do then justice. If you haven’t tried a Michelin 3 Star then this is definitely a good place to start.

We got the tasting menu for dinner. The food started off great, but quickly evolved into a series of plates where the centerpiece was added raw truffle. Though truffles can be amazing, they were not incorporated well into the dish and the server kept giving us attitude. We made one comment at the start asking what the white truffle was (we had never seen a raw white truffle before) and she made fun of us the entire meal. Maybe we shouldn't have asked but she didn't need to be so pretentious. However, that wasn't the worse part. The worse part came when the cheese course came and we asked for recommendations. I had lived in Paris for about 3 months at that point and had tried a bunch of different cheeses (including fancy types). However, I wanted a light-ish finish and asked the server for recommendations. They suggested a cheese that was so strong it made me vomit in the bathroom for 20 minutes after my meal. I felt so bad for the other female guest who walked into the bathroom but the cheese was so overpowering. The meal started off great but took a turn for the worse. It had been years since I've vomited before and I did not enjoy it. I didn't want to mention it but my date told me to just provide some feedback on the cheese so that other guests wouldn't have to experience this in the future too. So we politely provided feedback to the servers about the strong cheese and to not recommend it for the future if guests ask for light cheese since I had vomited after eating it (or to let them know it would be risky). The male server was really understanding and took the feedback but the female server was very rude and basically told us to go and take a cab home and didn't care. When we left, they gave us a bag of bread, which turned out to be harder and more stale than the bread that they served us at the start of the meal. Very disappointing... I no longer trust the Michelin guide anymore. There were so many other restaurants that I tried in Paris that were much better.

Perhaps the best meal I’ve had in Paris this trip. The wait staff was excellent; friendly and playful. The food had some bright spots including the lobster and huge chives. Overall a fun experience and wouldn’t hesitate to try again.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant and it has been in my bucket list for sometime. To begin-Foie Gras Royal with Sorrel Mousse, Tandori spiced crayfish lollipop, Mushroom filled with gougere. Stuffed macaroni with artichokes, black truffle, duck foie gras and Parmesan cheese. The intensity of the flavours were quite incredible and my favourite dish of the meal was the pre dessert - diced pineapple with caipirinha cocktail jelly and coconut sorbet. A bubble of iced tea with gold leaf. Then came the lemon from Menton, frosted with Limoncello and served with pear and preserved lemon. And the almost too beautiful to eat chocolate dome with gold accents! It was quite an incredible experience with the staff being extra helpful and polite. A beautiful peaceful oasis in the heart of busy bustling pairs and the perfect end to a lovely afternoon.

As close to perfect as a restaurant can get. Incredible food, phenomenal service and an even more exceptional bill! We had the tasting menu, which had all of what appeared to be Epicure's best dishes. Everything that we had in the tasting menu was phenomenal and an absolute work of art. Service was impeccable. This is a special meal kind of place! I would love to come back some day.

This was one of the best restaurants I've been to. After visiting various Michelin star restaurants the service and attentiveness we received and experienced at Epicure did not go unnoticed. The service staff were friendly and on it, paying attention to every little detail even the most minute one like the candle at the table going off. In addition, I must admit that the food was impeccable. The 8 course tasting menu was amazing and I enjoyed all but the cheeses (I generally don't like cheese). Beyond that, every single item we tasted was delicious and like a little slice of heaven with one of my favorites being the langoustines and salmon; hard to choose from the array of options really. An overall commendable treat if you're ever in Paris.

Walking across the perfect marble hall of Le Bristol hotel provides splendid backdrop to this pinnacle of French cruise. The young pigeon was cooked whole and presented on his own perch. The. Taken to the kitchen and expertly displayed on my plate with rich jus and a bacon bon bon. I have never tasted a dish so good.

We did some research and found Epicure and we were excited to experience our first 3 Michelin star restaurant as part of our honeymoon. Upon entering we were immediately greeted in the lobby and escorted by a kind and gracious host that immediately seated my husband and I at our table. Two gentlemen simultaneously pulled out both chairs for us and we sat at a beautiful table overlooking the garden. Epicure provided the absolute best service experience I have ever received. The entire staff works in unison to anticipate your every need before you’re even aware of it. They truly value every single detail from the linens, to the silverware etc. It truly is beautiful to witness the staff at work and it’s like a lovely symphony. I could seriously go on about the immaculate service, but let’s move on to the food. We were truly left speechless. My husband tried Eric Frechon’s tasting menu and I opted with a first course and main entree as a pescatarian and my dietary restrictions. It was seriously the best meal of our lives as well as dining experience. The wine list can be very daunting as a California native with limited experience with French wines, but the sommelier was so helpful and his recommendations were superb. We didn’t know what to expect going in and we were anticipating a sense of pretentiousness, but it was quite the opposite. The entire staff and team were so helpful and kind and were able to communicate with us in English since our French is so limited. I could seriously go on about our amazing experience but my husband and I truly want to thank the entire team for making our honeymoon dinner so special and a memory we will cherish forever. We will gladly return to París from California just to dine here again. Thank you!

Epicure was, by far, the absolute best dining experience I ever had. After stepping into the hotel, I asked the concierge where I can find Epicure, and he led me to the restaurant while asking for my name and number of people in my party under the reservation. When we arrived to the front of the restaurant, he informed the hostess of my name and party size, and I was then led to my table. Being led to my table was an experience in itself; staff from left and right greeted and welcomed me as I was walking to my table. This felt like a VIP experience and I have never experienced anything similar at another Michelin restaurant before. The service was incredible. There wasn’t a single time I had to request for water. I was even escorted to the restroom and waited for until I returned. One of the wait staff also gave me recommendations for activities in Dublin after I told him I would be visiting in a few days. The food in the tasting menu was phenomenal, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Before even having dessert, I was stuffed, but it was definitely something to be had. One of the dessert dishes even caused someone in the dining room to tear up, as the dessert reminded him of his late mother. At the end of my experience at Epicure, I left mind-blown (and very stuffed) and with a box of chocolates and macarons. Needless to say, this was an absolutely amazing experience and I hope to return to Epicure for another phenomenal experience.

Extremely delicious and very beautifully presented food. Theatrical in the classic French style - with silver dish covers lifted at the same time behind each diner. The interior decor was a little dated, but the superb service couldn’t be faulted. The desserts were especially good looking - for the vegans there is a splendid imitation lemon made from meringue and sorbet, although it costs over 200 euros.

We decided to celebrate our second anniversary at Epicure, situated within the esteemed confines of the Bristol Hotel in Paris. The pleasant restaurant greeter ushered us graciously to our designated table. The establishment exuded a distinctly Parisian ambiance, replete with classical, traditional, and vintage undertones. The staff demonstrated impeccable training, flawlessly executing every task—a standard befitting a culinary establishment helmed by a three-Michelin-starred chef. Chef Eric Frechon showcased an adept mastery of presentation, flavor amalgamation, and innovative culinary endeavors, resulting in an unforgettable gastronomic odyssey. His enduring three Michelin stars over the past decade unequivocally attest to his culinary prowess. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu for dinner, commencing with a bottle of champagne as an aperitif, which paired well with each ensuing course. Our primary server, a young Irishman, infused the evening with his delightful sense of humor, contributing significantly to our memorable experience. For those contemplating the tasting course, coming hungry and with an open mind are prerequisites. A noteworthy exception was the veal sweetbread, a dish featuring the pancreas of a calf or lamb. While the texture was not to my preference, it was undoubtedly prepared to perfection—a novel culinary encounter for me. The remaining courses left an indelible impression, especially with the servers executing their duties with military-like precision. Our admiration for Epicure's culinary prowess was such that we eagerly await a new tasting menu to experience next time we visit Paris. If there was one weakness to this experience it was that the cost may be prohibitive to the average diner which is a shame to not be able to experience Chef Eric Frechon’s culinary genius.

I was pleasantly surprised how 'crave-able' the food was! My experience with 3-Michelin star restaurants is that the food is extremely rich and works of art, but I have not so far felt like I want to go back to experience the food again. I definitely would love to go back to eat at Epicure again! Maxime, my server was fantastic as was the maitre d' and quite frankly all the staff that I encountered. They all made me feel very special. Thank you again!

Epicure, a three-star Michelin restaurant in Paris, left me with mixed feelings during my recent visit. While the restaurant boasts an impressive reputation, my experience fell short of expectations. The ambiance of the hotel did not resonate with my personal preferences, as it lacked the charm and appeal I've found in other fine dining establishments. The overall vibe was not to my liking, and it did not enhance the dining experience as I had hoped. The waitstaff's behavior was another aspect that left me uneasy. I observed them checking on my friend each time she left a portion unfinished, which felt intrusive and uncomfortable since they kept asking why she did not finish it. This detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal and left a negative impression. Also, one staff was eavesdropping with our conversation and started to join the conversation. They also gave me a juice even though i did not ask for it. Despite Epicure's claim of being the best restaurant in Paris, I found the dishes to be somewhat repetitive. Having experienced other Michelin-starred establishments that offered more innovative and diverse menus, the culinary offerings at Epicure did not stand out. In conclusion, while Epicure holds a prestigious Michelin status, my personal experience was disappointing. The ambiance, service, and repetitive nature of the dishes did not align with my expectations, making it difficult to justify the high regard it receives. For those seeking a truly exceptional dining experience in Paris, I would recommend exploring other renowned Michelin-starred restaurants in the city.

Amazing dining experience, deserves more than 3 Michelin stars! The food was all delightful, a bit rich for my taste, the next time I eat lunch here I will skip breakfast! The service was absolutely impeccable, probably the best service I have experienced in any restaurant, the perfect level of attentiveness. The atmosphere was undoubtedly formal, but the servers were all charming and friendly, making me feel very relaxed and welcome. 10/10 experience, will definitely be going again.

Fine dining can sometimes feel stuffy, but Epicure is anything but. On top of incredible service that felt like a well-rehearsed symphony, the flavors were out of this world and exceeded our expectations, which were very high, given their 3 Michelin star status. The staff was extremely professional, but also acted with a level of playfulness that made the experience incredibly fun and had us laughing throughout. We had asked to add on a dessert to the tasting menu, and I still received a custom printed, dated menu as a souvenir that included the changes we asked for--a very nice touch. At one point my partner was asked how he liked a portion of his meal, and when he said anything less than "amazing," they took it as a personal challenge to bring him something else, watched him try it, and cheered when he confirmed it was incredible. It was clear they stood behind their work and knew that they could deliver an amazing experience for every guest--which they did.

Everything at Epicure is BEYOND DESCRIPTION! Epicure no doubt deserves 3+ star Michelin which has exceptional cuisine and thus “worth a special journey” just to visit. Rather than being a stop on the way to a destination, this restaurant is the destination. Epicure absolutely serves distinct dishes that are executed to perfection. Amazing cuisine with incredible great service are really impressive. Must visit once in your life if you haven't been here. Highly recommended!

Our favourite three star restaurant in Paris. It did not disappoint, but the 'wow' factor is not there. Great service, can't be faulted. But we came for great food... May be we should try their tasting menu instead of the season menu.

Searched for a 3-star Michelin restaurant and booked Epicure in order to try the macaroni! The description really attracted me to pick this place. Had the tasting menu. It was truly a journey. Loved every course and have a few favorites - the caviar with potato was out of this world. I cannot go back to eating regular crayfish. I loved how seafood stock was fused with chicken stock. Every dish was well thought trough. Will be back!

The food does match the 3 star. But service, I have to say it doesn’t match it. I booked through Bulgari Hotel, please see attached photo for their dress code. I do respect all the restaurants rule and do follow. But in their dress code, shirt is mandatory but jacket is not mandatory. I did wear my jacket to Le Cinq. So I wearing shirt with sweater. But, they told me jacket is essential for their restaurant. I showed them the dress code photo that what I got. However, they approached me 3 times with very rude attitude and try to force me to put on their jacket ( I really don’t want to wear someone else cloth). In the end, they still want their jack on my chair. I think no matter who, that starting ruined whole night. I love the food, but not service. I don’t think I will come back in the future.

Couldn't come to Paris and go to at least one of the ten three Michelin star restaurants in the city. After doing plenty of research, I opted for Epicure as it looked like the best option. All I can say after coming here is that this is haute cuisine at its absolute finest. Michelin dining has peaked for me! First things first, it wasn't terribly difficult to book a reservation here, probably because of the fact there are so many three stars in Paris. Obviously I was keeping an eye on when dinner reservations became available, but it was nothing like some of the impossible reservations back home in the U.S. for three stars. Anyways, the food completely blew me away. The execution and creativity of every dish was on full display. On this particular trip, we had Tomate Ancienne, Large Langoustines, Candele Macaroni, Salmon from Scotland, and Lamb from Alpilles as our main courses. It's hard to really pinpoint what my favorite was because all of the dishes were outstanding. If I had to pick, the Large Langoustines was my favorite because of how perfectly cooked it was. The Candele Macaroni was amazing because of the black truffle mixed with mature Parmesan cheese. Salmon from Scotland was so soft that we didn't even need a knife to cut it. They even used the lamb in two different ways, to create a carpaccio initially and then cook up a roasted saddle of lamb. Oh, and the Tomate Ancienne was somehow frozen inside despite obviously being fresh. The best thing about Epicure is that all these dishes are on their a la carte menu, so if you opted to skip the tasting menu you could still have a lot of these dishes. Oh, and for that cheese and dessert course at the end? They have so many cheeses on hand, and they offer three...but I'm sure if you requested more you could totally have more. After the main dessert, they offer chocolate and macarons. And if you REALLY wanted it, you could have every single chocolate and macaron they offer. If it wasn't for the fact that we were completely stuffed by the end of the meal, I may have taken them up on that. Service...well, I have no words. I mean, this is truly the pinnacle of service right? A place like this could make you feel like they are too good for you, but they don't do that here at all as everyone is super welcoming. Epicure has an army of waiters here and they are on it like a machine. Every little detail was attended to. Every request we had was fulfilled, including getting our menus signed and taking a kitchen tour. Even got to talk to the head chef for 10 minutes, which is how I found how they made a jelly out of red peppers and that the salmon was actually cooked in a sous vide. Hell, you couldn't even go to the bathroom without someone walking you there. I have been spoiled for service at fine dining establishments, but Epicure is on a level on its own. Ambience is pretty amazing. Even though the inside dining room looked amazing, we decided on sitting outside considering it was a nice summer night with a very late sunset. The garden area is a great place to have a nice dinner! Bathed in evening light. Even when it got darker, the lighting was perfect to keep the right atmosphere. There's three stars, and then there's three stars in Paris. A truly wondrous experience and unquestionably the best dinner I have ever had. Best part is that they do have an a la carte menu, so I can still come back and opt for something cheaper. Absolutely love Epicure!

Had lunch tasting menu in June 2019 for my fiancee's birthday and it was incredible. The staff was knowledgeable, passionate, and charming in a Parisian Wes Anderson Movie kind of way. Sometimes these tasting menus can be a bit much in terms of the amount of food, but it was perfect for a mid day meal. The cheese course at the end was the best I've had in 5 years. There was a champagne cheese which I still think about. Well done to the staff, chef, and cheese sommelier. What a great memory.

This was my second time dined at Epicure in Le Bristol Paris hotel and the experience was nothing short of remarkable. The ambiance is elegant, setting a refined tone for the meal to come. Chef Eric Frechon and his team certainly live up to the restaurant’s three Michelin stars reputation with a menu that is thoughtfully curated, showcasing the finest of French culinary traditions. I was particularly impressed with the presentation of each dish. The signature macaroni stuffed with black truffle, artichoke, and duck foie gras, gratinée with aged Parmesan was a delightful blend of textures and flavors, a true homage to French cuisine. The service was impeccable. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a seamless dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering insightful recommendations that enhanced the meal.

A three Michelin star French restaurant serving up some of the most consistently good food you can possibly find in Paris. Here is what I can add: The food: You have a choice between a set menu or ordering a la carte. We did the latter one and went with the classic starter/main/dessert set up. First up were the signature stuffed macaroni. This is undeniably one of the best dishes on this planet and something I need to have every few years to remind myself how good this is. The second starter of crab meat was fabulous as well, with unbelievably juice and succulent chunks of crab meat contrasted by aromas of curry. For mains I had another signature of the house, the blue lobster roasted in its shell. This is yet again a world class dish, maybe only rivalled by the lobster we had at L'Ambroisie a few months earlier. Veal sweetbread was also to die for. Menton Lemon was then a light, refreshing ending to an overall outstanding lunch. But of course we did not leave without indulging in the famous macarons and pralines served. Wine list/drinks: As to be expected, the wine list here is simply phenomenal. For those with the means there is an endless selection of wonderful producers and well aged bottles. The wine list is not online so I only checked the white Burgundy selection which already featured well above a hundred positions. My final choice was a keenly priced Bourgogne Chardonnay 2014 by Coche Dury which was terrific for our lunch. Service/Hospitality: The dining room is gorgeous and while it is an absolutely luxurious setting it's also cosy and doesn't feel overwhelming. Service is smart, friendly, jovial and a pleasure to interact with. At the same time every move at the table is meticulously planned and timed, this is absolute professionalism, without feeling stiff at any given moment. Overall, this is easily among the best restaurants I have dined at and should be on everyone's agenda who is into outstanding food and world class gastronomy.

Best 3 star experience. Actually went in with low expectations but came out totally impressed. Balance is key for me and here, the complex dishes had such balance that I was able to enjoy one representative flavor of a dish which was enabled by the perfect balance of the multiple ingredients with their own distinct flavor profiles. The service had fabulous balance too, formality you expect from a 3 starred restaurant with the perfect amount of ease and even a little humor. The staff guided me and my wife through a memorable three and a half hour meal. Thank you.

👍👍 If you are visiting Paris, a cruise ride on the River Seine is not to be missed. We chose Bateaux Parisiens as it was included in the Paris Pass. 😐 Granted, setting and mood are nice. Staff is, for the most part, friendly’ish. Food was average, in other words, rather disappointing. I tried all dishes but I had the pizza, it was lukewarm, chewy and could barely hold together towards the center as it was so moist. I wouldn’t go again but that’s...
