We stayed at the hotel in Bucharest May 17-20, 2023. I had high hopes for this hotel since there was a lot of good reviews. On arrival date, we were met by a gentleman with beard who was very kind and courteous. At the reception also a lady greeted us nicely and we were off to a good start. The hotel is a 3 story building which seems to have been a house prior to being a hotel in a residential area.. We were 2 couples and had rooms across from each other. In our room we had steps which I didn’t like but I didn’t complain. On Friday night, we went to bed around 10 PM since we were flying out the next morning and hrkeard children screaming and playing and shortly followed by loud music and a loud singer. The sound was so loud that we couldn’t sleep. I called the reception at around 12:00 AM since the sound and the singing was even louder. Nobody answered. The noise and the singing did not stop until 1:30 AM. I was so upset that couldn’t sleep the night at all. Once checking out, I mentioned it to the staff member and he said that there was an event that night. Not only he didn’t apologize but also questioned me as to why I didn’t contact them. When I told him I did, he was arguing with me. I will never go back to this hotel again and want everyone to know that the hotel rents out to events with no respect to guests. Even Airbanb rentals have a limit on the timing of parties, let alone a hotel with so many guests. If you have any respect for yourself or your sleep, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL, IT HAS NO RESPECT For YOU.

Decided to have a mid afternoon lunch at the Gramont restaurant at Suter Palace, Bucharest. I can't comment on the bedrooms, but the restaurant and general rooms had a nice classical decor. One disappointing area was the restroom, it was clean but very small (only one cubicle) and rather drab (maybe they ran out of budget when they were rennovating?). Friendly staff. Much nicer feeling of hospitality than many other hotels in Bucharest (cough "Sheraton" pfft). Great view from the balcony, and calming soft jazz gently playing in the background. Food was very nice, I went for the seafood spaghetti and was happy to chomp on decent portions of shrimp, scallops and so on. Pasta was al dente. The dessert was tasty and pretty. Peach slices sitting on some kind of mousse inside a citrus jelly, and then it had a crunchy almond biscuit base. Yum.

This is without doubt one of the highest class hotels and restaurants in Bucharest. The place is in the centre of the city, yet away from prying eyes. It has also been recently renovated. We went there for dinner. We were impressed with the service, customer care and quality of food. Overall we have nothing to complain about. The prices are about 3 times higher than the average Bucharest restaurant, but they are well worth it. On top of it all, the restaurant has a great view. I highly recommend this place.

If this is Bucharest's most luxurious hotel, then I don't want to know about the other 5* properties. Instead of being helpful and friendly, the staff is behaving very arrogant. The staff were very attentive and kind; they offered support in every area we asked about and the restaurant food was amazing. The rooms are gorgeous themselves, and the location is quiet enough to not have too much noise but close enough to reach by taxi from town, or to walk if you’re up to it.

The whole experience exceeded our expectations, the bed was very comfortable and the room had all the standard hotel amenities you expect, and more. Will definitely come back. A hidden gem! Once you enter the place, you feel taken to another century, a small world of Gatsby’s parties.
