SHIRAZ IS ONE OF THE oldest Iranian cities, with a vibrant culture of art and craftsmanship and a rich history, both of which are on spectacular display at the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques in Iran. With dazzling stained glass, thousands of painted tiles on the ceiling and Persian rugs covering the floor, this place of worship is a gorgeous rainbow of color in every direction, like stepping into a kaleidoscope. Inside the mosque is an open courtyard with a rectangular pool in the center, surrounded by flowers. The building’s facade features dozens of arabesque arches, adding to the beauty of the light show from the stained glass. Nasir al-Mulk Mosque was constructed between 1876 and 1888, during the Qajar dynasty, which ruled Iran from 1785 to 1925. It has been dubbed the “Pink Mosque” due to the plethora of pink-colored tiles blanketing the ceiling. The best time to visit the mosque is in the early morning, when the sun reflects the stained glass patterns onto the floor. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque is one of the most ancient mosques of Shiraz and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sites in Iran. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque, also known as the Pink Mosque or Rainbow Mosque, looks like an ordinary Islamic mosque at first sight, but as the sun rises, the art of architecture turns the mosque into a huge kaleidoscope. Sunlight, passing through mosaic windows, paints the walls and floor carpets with hundreds of colors. Magic will vanish in a couple of hours, so plan your visit for an early morning. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque is located in a region in the southern part of Lotf Ali Khan Zand Street. When in this area, you can visit many attractions that their antiquity dates back to the Zand dynasty. They are Vakil Bazaar, Vakil Bath, Karim Khan Citadel, Pars Museum, Atiq Jameh Mosque, Shah Cheragh, and Tomb of Hafez. Do not forget to add them to your long scroll of attractions you are going to visit.

A beautiful mosque with unusual stained glass windows. Not the most famous mosque in Shiraz, but nevertheless one of the most beautiful. It has stained glass windows and the light makes it seem like a perfect blend of both mosque and cathedral. It is a beautiful and peaceful place.

Such a unique and beautiful mosque. You should avoid avoid going on fridays when it's more busy. 8am recommend to see the sun hitting the floor through the colored windows. I went at 9:30am and the sun hit the wall instead of the floor. No point in going in the afternoon/evening when the sun doesn't go through the windows. 1 million rial entry fee for foreigners in May 2022.

Absolutely stunning mosque! So beautiful. One of the best in the world. Recommend going early to skip some of the traffic and witness the sunlight coming through the windows. The local professional photographers were really nice and a good price.

A true gem!!! Nasir-ol-Molk mosque is one of the most spectacular mosques in Iran, and is famous for its vibrant colourful glasses and unexampled tilings. It has also been also named the Pink Mosque of Iran. The beam of sunlight and the passage of light through colored glass by combining red, azure, yellow, orange, and green colors create the indescribable image in the interior of this Shabestan. This image blends with the brilliant art of stone carving, the magnificent art of colorful Qajar tiling and arches, lead to creating a dreamy atmosphere of Nasir al-Molk Mosque in Shiraz. 10-11 am is the best time to take amazing photos. Highly recommended!!!

The mosque is amazing! Every detail is perfect and the place is very well kept. You have to go at morning (between 8-10) because that’s the perfect time when the sun illuminates the stained glass. The spot is soooo small... so it gets crowded very easy.

You have to come to the Nasir al Molk Mosque (also called the Pink Mosque) early in the morning. When the first sun rays hit the colored glass windows of the mosque, colored patterns are projected over the pillars and carpets in the mosque as well as over the people inside. That is an extraordinary view, worth many pictures. Some fashion houses seem to come here to make pictures to present their new collection, or were it just some Iranian girls that wanted to show themselves from their best side?

Super busy! Arrive at 8:00 and queue. It was super crowded. It's worth a visit to take pictures with the tainted windows.

The mosque was built during the Qajar dynasty, and is still in use under protection by the Endowment Foundation of Nasir al Molk. Construction began in 1876 by the order of Mirza Hassan Ali Nasir-ol-Mulk, one of the lords and aristocrats of Shiraz, the son of Ali Akbar Qavam al-Mulk, the kalantar of Shiraz and was completed in 1888. The designers were Mohammad Hasan-e-Memār, an Persian architect who had also built the noted Eram Garden before the Nasir al-Molk Mosque, Mohammad Hosseini Shirazi, and Mohammad Rezā Kāshi-Sāz-e-Širāzi.

It’s much more beautiful than any online pictures. You don’t have to just line up to take a picture from the colorful reflections from the glass window(like you see everywhere), the mosque and shrine, also the museum( gift shop) themselves deserve much more attention and exploration.

A small but very beautiful Mosque. The tiles and colored glass in the early morning sunlight is amazing. The Sister that were there were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the history of the Mosque.

Inside it hides a wonderful secret. Every morning, the sun's rays filter through the stained glass windows, transforming the rooms into a magical place. Walking here is like walking in a kaleidoscope of colors. what will really amaze you are its interiors. The sun enters through the colored windows and reflects on the beautiful floor covered with Persian rugs, whose decorations are truly wonderful. This mosque is one of the most deserving of a visit among Iran's mosques and is the most varied, its unique tile work and colored glass give it great charm. The use of pink tiles in this mosque meant that it was given the nickname "pink mosque". The Nasir ol Molk mosque has two entrance doors; the main entrance is decorated with encaustic tiles and the image of the red rose and iris. The wooden door has a stone frame with Islamic decorations (arabesques) and is a single large block; above it a small inscription next to lines of a poem shows the date of its construction.

It’s small but beautiful colorful mosque. I went at noon and I can still see some beautiful lights but I think in the morning when most of the sunlight shines directly through the colorful window it’s the most beautiful but there’s too many people taking pictures. Ceilings and walls are so beautiful. Women are required to cover their whole body from head to toes when inside…. They will distribute you long robes.

It contains a square shape garden with some waterworks in the middle, the common Iranian architectucry. Then you walk through the main part, mosque which has a medium meter covered by colorful carpets. Pillars are decorated with variety of huo mosaics and different pattern on them. The apple of Nasir al-Mulk mosque and the greatest thing it's known for obvi is its big colored windows with wooden frame and you'll witness a lovely and dreamy scene while sun is shining bright. Sadly the day we visited was partly cloudy but anyway we had a joyous time to have the chance of visiting it in person, here are photos taken by me not a perfect quality though 🙂

Beautiful little mosque. The famous stained glass windows were a bit of a disappointment, but the beautiful tile work in the rest of the mosque more than made up for it.

The famous pink mosque where you can take catchy IG photos, we got there at around 9:30 am. Entrance fee for foreigner is 1M IRR (standard price), the Mosque itself is quite small but you will go anyway because many people come to Shiraz just for this place. A must see attraction in Shiraz, it is kind of over-rated but still I think you shouldn’t miss it.

The type of tiling and architecture of this mosque has significant differences with the mosques of other cities such as Isfahan, and instead of blue and turquoise, which is the color theme of Isfahan mosques, in this mosque, colors with the theme of pink and gold are used. Worth seeing once at least

It's a place where social media is all hype. The colored glasses you see in those photos are in a tiny area. It is even possible to see such glasses in some hotel rooms. This is a well-advertised but rather unnecessary tourist attraction. And entry is very expensive.

There is no doubt that this is a highlight of Shiraz. The mosque is stunningly beautiful especially in the morning when the light shines through the tainted glass! The place is quite small but well worth a visit!

The most beautiful mosque in Iran maybe, the only sad thing is that recently the new stupid managers limit the big cameras and trying to be more in control of everything. The mosque is more impressive in winter time around 8-9 am .

Very unique and beautiful mosque in whole Muslim history (I have to say Muslims are indebted to Persian art) The only awful thing about it is,there is people over there that force you to follow shariah laws)

One of the top tourist and sightseeing spots in Shiraz city, Nasir al-Molk Mosque and its colorful windows and its reflection inside the mosque, which creates a very beautiful and memorable atmosphere. The best time to see light reflections in the window is from 8 to12 o'clock.

There is a masterpiece of architecture and tiling left over from the Qajar era, which is also known as the Pink Mosque, its windows are made of multi-colored glass that creates beautiful scenes with the movement of sunlight.
