Vile Security Manager Harassing And Intimidating Hotel Guests. My family and I have been this Hotel Guest for numerous years. Through the years, the hiring of new staffs like the new security manager here sometimes severely lack the professional grooming required of the hospitality industry and thus conducted himself in the most inappropriate manner towards hotel guests. I was sitting on a chair near the entrance of the swimming pool on the third floor, some Chinese guests clad only in swimming trunks were excitedly entering and exiting the poolside, yet; the rude security manager said nothing about it; but as for me sitting there quietly to myself seem to irritate him much more and thus made him extremely irascible! Demanded that I remove myself immediately. Giving the most ludicrous reason that the two chairs placed next to the entrance of the swimming pool are for the conference room usage only, which was actually much further down the other aisle of the hallway. He strenuously insisted that I “MUST” wait at the Lobby. Does he think he is running a military or government facility? There’s a huge crowd of guests queuing to check in downstairs and I am not terribly fond of crowds. Numerous times I have tried to explain to him about my medical condition. I have Enochlophobia sprouting potentially fatal anxiety attacks and hypertension whenever there’s a huge boisterous crowds. Enochlophobia. Only to have him mock me about my medical conditions. I have partial paralysis on the right side of my body too, hence movement is extremely limited. Instead of empathising with me, he made a mockery out of me! Jeered me, using words that I am a “ferocious” being. This security manager clearly has no idea what the hospitality industry is all about. Exercising only his obstinate aggression, imposition and threat to evict me, which he subsequently did by calling the Police on me. The Police on arrival couldn’t fault me on anything as I was neither intoxicated nor making a nuisance of myself. I was just sitting quietly and peacefully, keeping to myself. The extremely irascible security manager only lame excuse was that he is unhappy and irritated by me sitting on the third floor and even after, I have removed myself and went down to the second floor lobby, he was still extremely unhappy, irascible and aggressive about it. He literally denied me any passage way even on the second floor lobby when everyone else was moving around freely without hindrance. I can only assume he was profiling me. Subsequently, my reservation with Agoda was cancelled and I left with an extremely bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Such obnoxiously repugnant attitude, unbecoming of an uncouth and unprofessional security manager. Totally no work ethics and his vile attitudes is definitely not work appropriate for the hospitality business! He is NOT an Asset to the Hospitality Industry but rather a Liability! I seek a redress with the senior management! I like staying near the Fort Canning Park because I can do my morning physical therapy there.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was a disappointing experience. This place is not at all value for money. The location is decent, but that's where the positives end. The staff was consistently rude and unhelpful. One major issue was with the housekeeping. They didn't provide basic amenities like water, and to make matters worse, a housekeeping staff member entered my room three times with a master key without knocking, insisting on cleaning the room immediately. This was not only intrusive but also unprofessional. Overall, this hotel falls far short of its claimed 4-star status. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant stay.

Noisy hotel. Very poor soundproofing. Door has no door closer. When closed, it's loud. Imagine this by all the doors in the alleyway. AC is super cold even after setting the temperature to the highest and very loud even after setting it to the lowest fan. Hot shower runs out of hot temperature after 10 minutes of use. Good luck for the next person who going to continue using. These few factors alone is good enough to make your stay over quality very uncomfortable. I don't care about the old room, tv or bathroom but hope the hotel can improve much.

Definitely a good place to stay at the center, location is perfect, near MRT and the port canning park. They upgraded our room for free and also allow us to deposit the luggage in the morning. Staffs is friendly, the ground floor smell good. Room is large enough, cleaned and prepared well. We don't need electric converter at here. Bed and pillows is comfortable, worth for money. I will come back for sure.

Truly superb accommodation. Friendly and approachable staff at the reception. They are very accommodating and that lady in the reception even went out of the hotel to show me the direction for the establishment I asked for. The room? Spacious. Clean. They got superb food served. All together, it is an excellent place to stay while you are in Singapore.

The room and bathroom are old and dirty. It's not soundproof at all. The hot water stopped in 10 minutes and it was hard to take a full shower. Last night, a cockroach appeared in the room. It's the worst hotel I've experienced recently. I can't believe it's a four-star hotel.

I had a business trip to S’pore since the pandemic, this is the 8th times i come to S’pore but also the 1st time i book this hotel. The hotel is nothing to complain, very nice staff, good services, room is clean and not too small and they have self service laundry. The location is very convenient, its near to MRT, 7-eleven, killiney, plaza singapura… all those place you can easily walk from hotel.

Nice quiet hotel at fort canning that just a stone throw away from fort canning park and national museum. Prices for the room is really good. Was here for a wedding dinner and the function room on the 3rd floor where the swimming pool is, provide a good private event venue. Friendly staff that really quite prompt in your requests at dinner.

It's ok at best. We wanted to support the Christian organisation. Got tired of asking the cleaners to provide enough towels and water for the 4 of us. Location is good. Right near Dhoby Gaut and within walking distance of Bencoolen. Good mall across the road and good food options. I prefer the bugis side. Great if you like Orchard Rd etc. Was very expensive for this kind of 3 star accommodation. Probably avoid peak times in future. I don't think we'd stay here again. The service wasn't great and rooms were not cleaned properly. The pool was very nice though. Lots of walking needed to get to places from here.

Nice hotel at a very good location. All public transportation is nearby, and even orchard road is walking distance if the heat doesn't bother you. The swimming pool is nice and the staff is very friendly. The only downside is that the rooms are a little small and that there are no windows that can be opened. Luckily the ventilation of the rooms was still okay, however it can get a bit musty at times. Obviously this is for safety reasons, but a small window that can only be opened partially would have been great. Another downside was that our room looked out directly against a large office, and that not all the windows had blinds. This was obviously not great for privacy.

Good location+2 free bottles of water each day, that’s it. Room is old. Hot water only lasts for 5 minutes. Noise cancellation is zero. Wood flooring so you can hear everything from the hallway. Would not recommend.

We held our wedding dinner banquet here on 12 Aug 2023. If you're considering this venue for your wedding, just go for it. There's everything going for it. 1) Location: Super accessible from Dhoby Ghaut mrt, central location with sufficient parking for guests driving in. Just remind them not to accidentally go to YMCA which is another building nearby 2) Price: Simply unbeatable, enough said. Feel free to add that extra table of guests you are on the fence about, without breaking the bank 3) Food: Praises from all our guests, you get really good value for the price you paid. Food tasting translated well into actual day cooking 4) Reception area: Private area for your cocktail reception, spacious to fit all our needs, be it cocktail tables, photobooth, decorations, and reception table. No need to share with any other events or weddings 5) Sophia Cooke Ballroom: Decoration themes are a blend of modern concepts with traditional chinese flair. Columnless ballroom means all guests have an unobstructed view. Spacious enough to house our 21 table banquet without guests feeling cramped. Projection, sound, and lighting systems are working well 6) Most importantly, the staff here Our wedding coordinator, Sherly, is super on the ball. It was a joy to plan the night together with her, and all our needs were met. There is no need to explain things over and over. They heard us out and did what we asked for without issue The banquet manager, Dickson, really takes care of all your needs on the actual day. Even our guests were praising the spectacular service. He ran all around the ballroom to keep the show running, and he's really good at his job Disclaimer: This is NOT a paid review. We genuinely had the wedding of our dreams here at YWCA Fort Canning

Centrally located hotel for families and travel groups. We stayed for 3 nights. Staff was helpful. We called housekeeping once and they dealt with our request very promptly. Prime location, but the hotel room and beds needed some cleaning and there were scratches on the floor. Check-in is at 3pm so be mindful.

The place was a bit run down, but it was still really nice. The room was so big, it was so close to everything. The people that work there were also friendly and super helpful. We also really like the idea of being not for profit and giving it back to Christian Women and Kids. Kudos.

Had our Wedding here in May 2023, had a great time at YWCA, my guests unanimously praised the food quality. Their sound systems are actually better than most hotels I've been to, perhaps because they regularly host events with musical elements. There's natural lighting and a huge reception area. Sherly took great care of us including resolving requests and issues that we faced in the lead up, the staff were also very friendly and helpful all along the way. They even provisioned a second rehearsal for us when my fiancee got COVID and couldn't attend our initial rehearsal. Its also a big plus for us to know that part of the proceeds will go to the less fortunate. Thank God there are such venues FYIs 1. You'll need to constantly remind your guests not to mix it up with YMCA 2. Credit Card Offline only no Paywave for all you miles-chasers

The location is superb, just across orchard road, where all amenities are nearby. Hotel location is near plaza Singapore, where many halal food joints are available. The hotel seems to be refurbished bcoz the toilet looks old (but functional) and the room design is modern. Temperature control is good although it is old sistem. No gym at hotel, but there is private gym in front of lobby. Basically, simple hotel with affordable price. Ironing only available at basement as they won't send the iron to the room. There is also coin laundry at the ironing room. Swiming pool was great with the kids. I haven't tried the buffet spread, will try on my next trip.

We stayed in this hotel for five nights and had a pleasant experience during our stay. Hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. Hotel location is very convenient, within walking distance to MRT station Dhoby Gaut. Note that there is no fully sheltered way to reach MRT station or bus stops. Considering the price for our stay, this hotel definitely has good value for money.

We held our wedding banquet here at YWCA and it was a huge positive experience, in terms of the wedding prep & execution, hospitality and price-point. In terms of wedding prep & execution, Sherly went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests, even when they were changed multiple times. She is also very experienced with wedding planning, able to keep track of details, and very on the ball in replying to our queries. The ceremonial-operations (march-ins and march-outs) went very smoothly, thanks to Dickson. In terms of hospitality, it was sincere and inspirational. For instance, on wedding day itself, as we were unable to finish our food, our food was all packed up. When we checked if the food could be reheated up for consumption, we found that it was already done for us. On the next day when we were down at the cafe for the complimentary breakfast provided for us, the staff congratulated us, and provided us with a complimentary house-drink. Regarding the price point, the banquet is considerably more affordable than other 4-star hotels nearby. Furthermore, the proceeds go back to the community. Given another chance, I will have it no other way and have my wedding held here. It exceeded my expectations. One point to note for other wedding couples: remind your guests that YWCA is not YMCA

My mom stays here for 15 days for transit to US. As a senior citizen, she got loads of problems during the stay but she always had the best support from the hotel staff. They helped her with mobile apps, printing, this and that, which made my mom feel at home while I used to do these things for her. She sincerely wants me to extend her highest appreciation to the hotel, and no doubt we will come again for its great location (walkable to most major tourist attractions) and super service.

Great find the cafe lounge for wkday porridge buffet. Bright light airy well spaced out seating. Excellent staff, so helpful. Well priced buffet. & the charity kacang puteh stand is a good idea. Only thing, at peak lunch time very noisy because no acoustics barriers.

Recently we stayed there for 9 days. The Service Counter staff were very helpful. The room is clean with no odour. Elevators are fast and there is a microwave available for guests use. Bus stop about 10 metres and MRT within walking distance makes going around Singapore easy with savings on transport costs. We used EZ link transport Card to use the public transport. Bus ride to Changi International airport by bus is very convenient and the bus stops at Terminal 3, 1 and 2 basements again another cost saving.

Super great locations, near from MRT Dhoby Ghaut, plaza Singapura, fast elevators, large rooms but small bed. Our room was cleaned by cleaning services everyday. The staff really helpful when we ask for help to booking the airport transfer.

Service: The service provided by YWCA staff Sherly was great! She went the extra mile to ensure that our requests were fulfilled. During the planning phase, she was able to keep up with the changes in our plans and clarified with us on our queries patiently. We are very thankful for her assistance throughout our wedding and stay in YWCA! Wedding Experience: We held our wedding at YWCA Sophia Cooke Ballroom and the room was wide and spacious. Wedding banquet manager Wilson was responsible and quick in adapting to changes in plans that we had. Our wedding went smoothly with his experience and oversight! Banquet food and room decorations was amazing and we had nothing but positive feedback from our guests. Room: We were staying in the suite room and it was definitely spacious and comfortable. The space was enough for our family and bridesmaids to sit around and take a break. The hotel also went the extra mile to decorate our room which was a welcome surprise! Feedback: 1) Bed pillows were too hard and when we requested for a softer one from the room service staff we did not get a response. 2) Oddly the hotel does not provide room service with regards to ordering food from their hotel cafe when we called the front desk for assistance.

We just had our wedding banquet at YWCA and had such a great experience. Eileen and Sherly were both very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of support during the whole period of planning, preparation and on the actual day. The wedding package was very comprehensive yet at a more reasonable price than most hotels. Everything from the food to the decorations and service was impeccable. Great team and great hotel. So glad we chose YWCA for our special day.

Attended company retreat at YWCA ballroom. Surprise that the place was so well kept after so many years. A very nice place for retreat as it was quiet and must also mention that the staff was very attentive and helpful. Thanks YWCA!

I helped coordinate a wedding high tea reception at YWCA recently. Sherly and her team were wonderful to work with. She helped arrange for us to use the cafe lodge on level 1 and the ballrooms on level 2 for the couple’s guest list of 500. She also went out of her way to help source for table flowers and coordinate the music and photo montage at the different locations. The guests also had really positive feedback about the food—both in terms of variety and taste. The kueh pie tee live station was well-loved too. The service staff were very proactive in offering drinks and helping to clear our empty cutlery as well! Thanks so much for such a pleasant experience :)

We had a wonderful 2night stay in YWCA. The deluxe room is spacious enough for us (1adult & twins (4y)), room and facilities are clean and well maintained. We love the swimming pool but its not suitable for kids who doesn't know how to swim. The place is modern and very relaxing. Staffs are friendly too. We really enjoyed our stay. Cafe Lodge food is good too. They have a 1 for 1 deal, which is amazing. We’ll definitely come back to stay again.

Location wasn't the most convenient... But it wasn't too bad. Didn't stay there but went there for a wedding dinner. For a simple dinner, pretty worth the price!

Go to Dhoby Ghaut and exit from the station. walk straight towards the hotell. You will find an escalator out in the open which is operational 24 h. Further on the left is an elevator if you are wheelchair bound. Continue to the exit and 40-60 meters or less and you are at the hotell. At the bottomfloor is a supermark if you want to buy snacks , ramen, porrdrige You can buy breakfast and i would recommend buying it. It's really top class.

Rather quiet spot at dinner time and also the cafe is quite empty as there are less than 3 tables of not more than 15 dinners during my visit. An artist was playing few pop pieces at the grand piano and was something quite pleasant for diners. Since their net profit goes to helping the community of less fortunate people, I thought we ought to patronise YWCA more often by spending on F&B there.

I enjoyed staying at the YMCA Hotel Fort Canning in Singapore! It's truly a wonderful place to be. The hotel's proximity to the MRT station is undoubtedly one of its most appealing features. Not only does it make exploring the vibrant city incredibly convenient, but it also ensures that you have easy access to Singapore's extensive public transportation network, allowing you to effortlessly discover all the amazing sights and experiences this remarkable city has to offer. The combination of the YMCA Hotel Fort Canning's warm and welcoming atmosphere, its excellent location near the MRT station, and the impeccable service provided by the staff truly makes it a home away from home. Your choice to stay there is a testament to your excellent taste in accommodations, and I can't think of a better way to experience the charm and beauty of Singapore.

The bathroom has some problem during the shower, but it's ok. The aircon is noisy even change to low level and a little bit affect the sleeping quality. Breakfast tastes good and can try if you have breakfast habits. The location is good coz that is near the shopping area, around 10 to 15 minutes can arrive.

Great location only 5 minutes walk to the MRT station and a about 7 minutes to a shopping mall with a supermarket at the basement. The location seems to be in the center to explore all around Singapore. The triple room was very spacious, I would say the cleaning could be better as there was thick dust under the beds which with small kids you notice because they throw things around. Very good service we where allowed to check in about an hour and bit early which was very helpful. Facilities where good vending machines on the ground floor, laundrete in the basement.

The hotel is clean, and the front desk is polite. The hot water supplement is unstable after opening the showerhead for around eight minutes when there is only cold water available.

The hotel is located in the city center, just a few minutes walk away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT, (which houses 3 different lines), a bus station, and Plaza Singapura. The hotel room is simple, but it is very clean, large, and comfortable. The staff are helpful, and there are several vending machines, including a cooking station for instant noodle. My only complaint is the soundproofing is not the best, and you can hear sounds from the corridor. Thankfully, the hotel was mostly quiet during my stay. Highly recommended for the convenience and comfort!

The best part about the YWCA is easily its location. It is incredible close to Dhoby Ghaut, several bus stops, and even a short walk away from the downtown line. Also there’s a donut bakery just around the corner which I loved. Unfortunately, the accommodations were mediocre. My room constantly had ants in the bathroom despite them spraying multiple times which was unfortunate. The other big issue for me was how bad the wifi was. I worked remotely so it was not always the easiest. The breakfast is just okay—pretty standard with eggs and pastries that were occasionally stale. I only got hot water in the shower for a short time, so I had to be on the faster side. Small things like these detracted from the experience with the two big issues above are the reason for my 3 stars.
