Once you enter the room, you are hit with a very nasty and damp smell of old furniture and fungus. The carpeted floor is dark and dirty - seems like it hasn't been washed since the the 50s. The ceiling fan is hard to switch on and off. There are no mineral water, slippers, and refrigerator. The towels are thin and stained. The blankets are even thinner and the bedsheets have bed bugs all over. There is no divider for the shower so when you enter the bathroom, you instantly step on the wet tiled floors. It's uncomfortable especially if you just want to use the toilet or sink. The engineering is bad as well. The bathroom door has a handle outside but it pushes in. From the inside, there is no handle so you need to pull on the door lock instead. The TV is old and the remote doesn't work. On our first night, the bedsheets were still wet as if it wasn't laundered completely. They gave us new blankets but by the third night they stopped setting them up on our beds (they just folded them and left them on the beds). Also, by the third night at around 1AM, my brother swears he saw a ghost of an old and skinny man wearing some traditional robe at the edge of our beds. The hotel is beside a temple so we think it might be a ghost of one of the monks there. We started praying every night afterwards. The room has bad feng shui as well. There's a mirror facing the foot of the bed. We had to cover it with a towel ever since then. We are never coming back here again. It's better to spend a few more dollars to get some decent amenities, good hygiene and ghost-free accommodation.

Located near the very famous landmark Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple and what a easy location to access from MRT and bus! 400m to Bugis, same to Rochar MRT, just opposite you will find bus stands to anywhere. Staff ladies were very friendly and attended to all our queries. Everyday room cleaning and changed the sheets/ washrooms, decent hot water, wifi and AC. What else to expect in this much of easy access low cost friendly budget hotel? We were there with our 1.5 year kid, everything was perfect and they were kind enough to give us 6h late checkout just for 50SGD, that was a great help for us. You have many indian/ chinese budget eating places, couple of 7 elevens ans the Albert mall where the items are very cheap like in china town. Easy access to all the acctractions, easy to buy food and other things, great staff and clean rooms highly recommended. Because od this location we were able to cover many places during our 5 days.

Old Hotel. No fridge. Booked double bed but give twin bed. No toothpaste, toothbrush and mineral water. The bed is so dirty and itchy. Staff and management not friendly. Not recommended to stay here. I paid $50 for the thing I didn't broke.

Southeast Asia's vast territory endows the region with some of the most beautiful natural scenic wonders on earth. Towering mountains, glistening beaches, enchanting lakes, and virgin rainforest parks make up some of the most awe-inspiring natural attractions in Southeast Asia.

The hotel in very strategic place ,near the albert centre hawker place witch some famous food hawker are there, near bugis market, bugis junction, bugis MRT as well Rochor MRT. The room its ok not like the room you will stay in for the whole day, its old but fine , the bed was clean, the bathroom has hot water but not very hot, maybe needs little bit repairment on the bathroom tiles as its crack quite dangerous for toes get cut from broken tiles, amenities were enough, has fridge big enough than other budget hotels have it, Friendly staff, room service was good. No mineral waters, so you need to buy from near shops, such as ABC shop at bugis market cheap around a dollar for 1 ltr mineral. Overall for lowbudget Hotel ,SEA hotel just great,

My stay in this hotel with my family was generally unpleasant. This hotel is a catch because it is affordable and it has a nice location. There are also toiletries provided. However, rooms are dim. (My family occupied Rooms 2-4, 2-12, and 4-72) Not all rooms have refrigerator, not all have smart tv. The worst part of our stay is that we lost an item in the room to a room service chambermaid, and when we asked for help from an old lady staff, we were treated rudely, made to feel that the blame is just on us. Very disappointing. Here is the take of my partner whose item was lost in the hotel (posted in Agoda): "To management: I demand that you investigate, hold accountable, and fire your staff. 1. Cleaning lady (the one on duty last July 14 in the afternoon) was very CARELESS. A very valuable item (a small sim card) was lost in our room. I placed my item in a glass cup. Cleaning lady was very careless when she threw the sim card. Not only is the cleaning lady careless, she was also very sloppy. Despite the "cleaning," several items of trash were left undisposed. How come the small sim was disposed, but several items of garbage were left untouched by room service? 2. The old chinese lady (maybe around 60s or early 70s in age; on duty last July 14 at around 7:00 p.m.) at the front desk was very rude. She even had the audacity to raise her voice at me. She had no name tag and she even refused to give me her name (talk about hospitality). 3. This lady had ZERO proper experience in properly dealing with guests. We ended up arguing and until the very end she refused to acknowledge what happened. 4. Old chinese lady was very dismissive and until the very end gaslighted me. She was very defensive. 5. Old lady REFUSED my request to put my complaint in writing. She was very unapologetic. To the next traveler/guest: BEWARE. Please read the other reviews. The comment "RUDE" has already appeared in more than 10 different reviews already. This is also true in google reviews as well." ----- The rude old lady put the blame on us for "not keeping our item on a secure place." But in response to this, my partner is a tourism worker and when he encounters similar cases with guests in his workplace, he and his co-workers do not blame the guests but do their best to help and comfort the guests, regardless of the size and placement of an item. In other words, the old lady is not in anyway hospitable to be in a hospitality institution. I hope the hotel management will be mindful of the negative reviews about their hotel and address the complaints of many guests who got disappointed from their stay. Moreover, dear guests, please bring a Singapore outlet-compatible adaptor and at least one electrical extension for your charging needs.

Did not stay in this hotel. But went to the ground floor vegetarian restaurant. Food is so so, but less crowded if you want a quiet environment.

The room we were give was in quite a bad shape, but I guess that is to be expected with the price range of the rooms. The carpet flooring near the entrance to the bathroom were wet and had a slight odour to it as we entered the room. Apart from the condition of the room, everything else was great. The service was great, the people who worked there was great as well. They were really nice and pleasant, they catered to all our requests (tiny requests of course!). Let’s not forget the extremely good location of this hotel! Situated next to 2 iconic temples. I would definitely consider this hotel again in the future solely based on the friendliness of the staff and the extremely strategic location!

No idea how this place has a rating of 3.8. Check-in was somewhat tedious, took pretty long even though there wasn't anyone else around. The room also had a dirty feel to it. The bed covers felt dusty. Ceiling fan (yes, ceiling fan in a hotel room) was very noisy as well, as if the moving parts had not been maintained for years. Will not visit this place again. Giving 1 extra star 'cos it was relatively cheap though.

Stayed here for 2 nights and we were rather uncomfortable and unsatisfied. First, check in took a long time and the lady in the front desk wasn't very friendly and quite rude on how she treats her guests. Second, as we entered our room it already smelled like moulds. Literally stinks! It looked old and dusty. Looks like they haven't maintained the room well. Then the bedsheets and pillowcases obviously weren't changed since there were still strands of someone's hair and was really dusty. Also, the carpet is not clean at all! Maybe that's what also adds to the smell of the room. The cabinets and hangers were dusty as well. Lastly, the shower didn't have a heater.

    1) not sure about all the doors but the room i was given, cannot be locked. 2) the toilet door is prone to accidents. 3) the curtains are see through in the room i was given. 4) no lights in room, only 2 lamps. 5) location hard to find. 6) floor is extremely sticky and dusty. 7) no proper blanket. 8) bed is dusty, cant stop sneezing. 9) took super long to register. Wont be coming back here ever again

Lovely, warm and simple budget hotel located at the heart of the city, very close to major bus stops, metro stations, shopping areas and eateries. Stayed here three nights - owners are courteous and sweet.

A budget hotel that's near to great amenities, convenient and lots of food nearby

  • 5/5 Kirsch L. 4 years ago on Google
Stayed for 2 nights, the staff and receptionists were quite nice. Room was spacious with the necessary facilities, cleanliness was decent, no hairdryer, aircon was really cold and its old model, took us awhile to figure out how to increase the temperature (there are knobs under a flap on the unit). Free breakfast was alright, it was buffet style with several choices of food. Location was good as well, walking distance to bus stop and convenience store. Recommended budget stay.

Staff friendly and accommodating when I turned up at 4:00 AM to find out I had booked it wrong by misreading an email. Gave me a discount for the night. Location is fantastic, right in the heart of it. If you want to experience Singapore from its true heart rather than something more touristy this is one of the best value places to go.
