The park is 35 km around in Chittagong town. The waterfall is found five kilometers away from the main gate of this park with a brick path. This waterfall is approximately 200 feet high. Amazing experience for me. But this is not a relax tour.

This was a different experience. It was so amazing tour. First you have to pay to entry. Then it takes a long time to climb up the hill, and a long way to walk. [CNG is available, but it is expensive.] But you have to walk down to get down. The fountain was very low. You have to go down a lot of stairs. Going down the stairs was very difficult. It has been raining for a few days, when you go there you can see a beautiful view of the waterfall. Although it is very difficult to get down, all the difficulties are over when you see the fountain.

Shoshradara Waterfall is located in Sitakunda Eco Park and Botanical Garden in Sitakunda, Chittagong. It is a popular trekking spot and a favorite destination for nature lovers. The waterfall is at its most vibrant during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak.

Visited last month after couple of rainy days. The fall was beautiful, water flow was very strong but muddy. Not much deep, may be around 5.7 feet; however there are stones, wood etc under water so be careful. To reach to waterfall you need to take a trail of stairs and muddy path including a small water stream. Going up is tiring, take rest where possible. Car and CNG is available to reach to the starting point. You need to buy car parking ticket and pass at gate. There are restaurants and shops; you can buy shorts/tshirt if missed to bring from home.

Shahasradhara Waterfall is located in the evergreen forest of Chandranath Reserve Forest block of Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong. The eco-park is 35 km from Chittagong city. Located on the east side of Dhaka-Chittagong highway and railway in the north. During the year other than the monsoon, this fountain is less water. The fountain is found five kilometers away from the main gate of ecopark, with a brick path. There is also another spring called Suptadhara Waterfall near the fountain. This waterfall is most easiest trail in Sitakunda. There is an eye-catching lake, a Bubble Pool and then Sahasradhara-2 waterfall. Surrounded by rocky hills, the waterfall is very high. You have to cross Sahasradhara Lake by boat to see the waterfall. There are also several other waterfalls above this waterfall but these are almost inaccessible due to the steepness of the waterfall. Last time we visited that place it was a rainy day the fall was very beautiful, water flow was very strong. You have to get down at Choto Darogahat Bazar of Sitakunda and take the east side road by CNG auto-rickshaw to reach the lake. You can go to the waterfall by boat from the bank of the lake.

Sohosrodhara Waterfall: A Serene Oasis in Purulia’s Rugged Landscape** Nestled in the tranquil Ayodhya Hills of West Bengal’s Purulia district, **Sohosrodhara Waterfall** is a hidden treasure for those craving solitude amid nature’s raw splendor. Often overlooked in favor of Bengal’s more popular destinations, this cascading beauty rewards intrepid travelers with peace, adventure, and breathtaking vistas. ### **The Journey & Arrival** Reaching Sohosrodhara is an adventure steeped in rustic charm. From Purulia town or nearby Ayodhya Hill base, a bumpy but scenic ride through winding forest roads leads to the trailhead. The final leg involves a short but steep trek (20–30 minutes) over rocky terrain and through sparse deciduous forests. Locals recommend hiring a guide, as the path can be ambiguous for first-timers. The trek’s simplicity adds to the allure, making it accessible even for casual hikers. ### **First Glimpse of the Falls** As you near the waterfall, the sound of rushing water grows into a soothing crescendo. Sohosrodhara reveals itself as a slender, elegant cascade tumbling down a moss-clad cliff into a serene turquoise pool. Unlike thunderous falls, its charm lies in its delicate flow and the tranquility of its surroundings. The pool, framed by ancient boulders and shaded by towering trees, invites visitors to linger and soak in the calm. ### **Highlights & Experiences** - **Swimming Bliss:** The shallow pool is perfect for a refreshing dip. The water is cool and clear, though rocks can be slippery—proceed with caution. - **Photography Paradise:** Capture the waterfall’s graceful flow against a backdrop of rugged hills and vibrant greenery. Early mornings or late afternoons offer golden-hour magic. - **Tribal Culture:** Engage with the indigenous Santhal communities nearby. Their warm hospitality and stories about the region’s folklore add depth to the visit. - **Picnic Spot:** Carry snacks and enjoy a meal by the pool, serenaded by the waterfall’s melody. ### **Practical Tips** - **Best Time to Visit:** Post-monsoon (October–February) ensures robust water flow and pleasant weather. Avoid peak monsoon due to slippery trails. - **What to Pack:** Sturdy shoes, swimwear, water, and light snacks. A first-aid kit and insect repellent are wise additions. - **Guides:** Local guides are affordable and enrich the experience with insights into the area’s ecology and history. ### **Considerations** Facilities here are minimal—no restrooms or shops—so plan accordingly. Mobile connectivity is patchy, making it ideal for a digital detox but requiring advance preparation. Sohosrodhara Waterfall is a testament to Purulia’s understated beauty. Its remoteness preserves its untouched charm, offering a rare chance to unwind in nature’s lap without the crowds. While it may lack the grandeur of larger falls, its intimate setting and serene vibe make it a worthy detour for explorers and peace-seekers alike. **Rating:** (5/5 – loses a star for limited amenities, but gains praise for its unspoiled allure!).
