Spent
four
nights
at
Hôtel
Medina
in
early
June,
absolutely
great
value,
very
central
location
right
next
to
the
Grand
Mosque
and
souks
inside
the
medina.
My
room
was
spotlessly
clean,
simply
furnished
and
with
a
small
balcony
overlooking
the
open
and
covered
souks.
The
hotel
rate
includes
breakfast;
typically
baguette,
a
(hard)
boiled
egg,
processed
cheese,
jam,
a
french
pastry,
fresh
fruit
and
yoghurt...
and
plenty
of
coffee!
Staff
speak
and
understand
English
so
if
you
don't
have
French/Arabic
you'll
manage.
Everything
you
would
want
to
see
in
Sousse
is
within
walking
distance,
as
well
as
the
UNESCO
sites,
all
the
local
amenities
including
a
range
of
restaurants,
the
Voyagers
train
station
north
to
Tunis
(or
connecting
South
to
Sfax)
and
the
newer
metro
train
station
to
Monastir.
The
port
is
five
minutes
walk
away;
best
to
go
early
for
a
chance
to
see
the
daily
catch
being
hauled
ashore
and
if
you're
interested
in
the
beach
then
this
is
only
a
little
further.
A
good-sized
and
well-stocked
supermarket
is
also
a
short
walk
away
towards
the
beach.
Definitely
on
my
list
for
a
return
visit.
