We
stayed
at
the
Roebuck
when
visiting
family
in
Stevenage.
The
staff
is
fantastic,
from
reception
to
bar
to
restaurant,
nothing
was
too
much
trouble
and
our
needs
were
anticipated
ahead
of
any
requests
we
made.
They
really
could
not
do
enough
for
us.
The
Roebuck
is
a
hotel
of
two
halves,
the
15th
Century
original
building
which
houses
the
reception,
bar
and
restaurant
and
the
hotel
rooms
in
an
adjoining
annexe.
The
food
was
fantastic,
the
restaurant
has
an
English
and
an
Indian
menu.
The
first
night
we
ate
from
the
English
menu
which
was
great
and
the
second
night
we
had
one
of
the
best
Indian
meals
EVER
and
believe
me
we
have
had
A
LOT
of
Indian
food
over
the
years.
There
were
some
very
exotic
dishes
on
the
menu
that
we'd
never
heard
of
which
were
absolutely
delicious.
I
can
recommend
the
Bhel
Puri
starter
for
example.
As
other
reviewers
have
stated,
parts
of
the
hotel
annexe
could
do
with
some
updating
but
our
room
was
lovely,
pleasant
decor,
comfy
beds,
coffees/teas/milk/biscuits
in
large
amounts
and
frequently
replenished,
generous
sized
fluffy
towels.
Some
of
the
reviews
say
the
hotel's
prices
are
not
competitive
but
then
again
you
can't
put
a
price
on
generosity,
friendliness
and
kindness,
they
are
in
short
supply
but
the
Roebuck
Inn
has
more
than
enough
to
go
around.
Would
definitely
recommend.
