There were good points about this Double Tree but not having air conditioning was not one of them. The location is good but guests may or may not be pleased with its proximity to Alton Towers. Wherever I go, I try to adhere to the hotel's environmental policies. I don't like to see housekeeping ignore them by replacing the towels daily. It's probably meant to be helpful but it is not. Service was generally good and when a few things went wrong they were remedied quickly.

Nice hotel and good room space and facilities. Disappointed that I couldn't get a good nice sleep I hated the pillows and blankets, just weren't comfortable at all. The room was spotless and clean but unfortunately the desk areas, lamp shades, cupboards were too dusty. Would have been nice for the staff to give that a wipe down too for a £193 night stay. Staff were lovely and the rest of the hotel was nicely decorated and welcoming. Loved the breakfast which is £10 per head. It's always a pleasure having breakfast here although I didn't like that a member of staff got his greasy hands to refill the hash browns, instead of using a utensil. It was off-putting. There's a £5 charge for anyone leaving their cars overnight.

I stayed at this hotel midweek with my daughter in a twin room. We had a lovely stay from start to finish. Easy parking and we were greeted warmly. The hotel is spacious and the bedroom also. The queen size beds had comfortable mattresses and quality bedding. I am very fussy with pillows but no issue again: They have different thicknesses to fit the need. The room was spotless with a hairdryer and an iron should you need. We were on the third floor and had no noise disturbance. The evening dinner and breakfast were both tasty with professional, friendly staff. Unfortunately, we had no time to try the fitness facilities! The only minor negative thing was that we had trouble with the air con unit (or was it set on automatic?)It looked straightforward but we didn't manage to make changes to the room temperature, however hard we tried! Maybe some instructions would have come useful? All in all, I very much recommend this hotel, as it is also in a great location, close to all amenities .

We stopped here for three nights while in Stoke. The room was large and comfortable with a big television hair dryer iron etc and the bed was very relaxing. The hotel is fairly well situated about half an hour from Alton Towers, a water park and other attractions. The restaurant has a small menu but we found something tasty to choose each night. Portions are OK and of course, it’s hotel prices. This hotel’s outstanding feature however, is the staff. From the moment we entered the staff were friendly efficient and super helpful. Special shout outs to Jane at reception, Maddie, Lacie and Chloe in the restaurant and Dawn at breakfast, who introduced me to oat cakes. Thank you all.

Stayed here for work and was really pleased with rooms. Very comfortable, and having the gym and pool made it a great option after a hard day's work. Breakfast was a good choice and tasty. It is close to local restaurants, cinemas and casinos as well as being close to the centre.

Issues with foot on two occasions first noodles these were cold with a squidgy chicken breast on top covered with some sort of red hot sauce. 2nd starters parts were stone cold others Luke warm mentioned to server/senior floor staff, didn’t really care took it to the kitchen and microwaved it to within an inch of its life. Lack of sleep on Saturday night due to a wedding fight in the car park. Due to. O air conditioning windows had to be open and just heard screaming and fighting for approximately 2hrs without any staff intervention. Due to rain on each night of stay everyone from parties weddings etc would stand under front reception porch and smoke nothing like walking though all that after a day at work. Honestly when you go to a better brand of hotel you do expect quality to increase not to diminish completely.

Boiling hot. Looks like it has air-conditioning, but it has none in any room, though maybe in public areas, which seemed much cooler than my room did. Did not stay because the heat was insufferable Very dim lighting also

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent when visiting Alton Towers, and overall, I was impressed with the hotel. From the outside, I have to admit I was a bit dubious, but as soon as you enter the front doors, you are greeted with a sleek and modern interior that wouldn’t look out of place in a 5 star London hotel. Upon check-in, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and as it was hot, there were complimentary bottles of water and ice lollies which were a nice touch. As custom with DoubleTree hotels, a warm chocolate chip cookie was also offered – which I never turn down! The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, a seating area, and was very nicely decorated. The bathroom was nice and modern, featuring a spacious design and it had a big walk-in shower. Although the hotel doesn’t have air-con they did leave 2 fans in the room to help keep you cool. With the fans and the super-comfy bed, I slept very well. Overall, I had a very positive experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay just a short distance from Alton Towers and many other attractions in the area.

The staff is friendly, room is spacious and clean, and the breakfast is great. The best part of the stay was Filip, the amazing bartender at the restaurant, whose customer service goes above and beyond. Thank you for your great energy, attitude, and help!

Overall the hotel was ok, it was fresh and clean with up to date decor. Unfortunately the AC wasn't working during our visit and the rooms were not well sound proofed so it was hot and noisy at times. The doors on our floor didn't have soft close so you could hear other guests doors slamming late into the night. I swam in the pool but it's worth noting that the pool isn't appropriate for exercise and is more of a fun pool, it's small and the water is too warm to do any serious swimming but is fine for a little float about. We chose not to have breakfast but our friends did and they mentioned that the selection offered was very limited for the price and didn't have much available for vegans/vegetarians other than toast.

Stayed for one night with husband and three kids. Check-in was fast and easy, our room was very spacious and clean with a lovely large bathroom. We had dinner and breakfast included in our stay, got given the menus already at check in which was great and made it easier for us to go through with the kids which 3 courses they wanted. We had our dinner reservation at 6 and service were slightly slow but it was quite busy and the staff were doing their best to take orders as quick as possible it seemed. What made our stay go from a four star to a five star was how they rectified a mistake at dinner, where it seemed our main course order must have gotten lost as we waited about 25 minutes before asking if it was coming out soon and they were very apologetic for the wait and assured us maximum 10 minutes longer. By the time main course had been eaten the kids were tired as we had been sat in the restaurant for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, my husband went over and politely asked if there was any chance we could get the desserts up to our room as kids were now tired. Not only did they instantly say yes no problem, when we also said we would like to order 3 hot chocolates for them on room service they said straight away they would do them on the house for us. A wonderful way of showing a nice attitude towards your guest and a nice way of rectifying the delayed dinner. Kids thought it was lush getting their desserts and hot cocholated delivered to our room. We had a lovely sleep and a nice breakfast to top of our stay. Food and drinks were good and decent prices. The only thing I as a smoker could ask for would be a covered smoking area as it wasn’t nice going out in the rain. ☺️

Used the hotel as a stopover before visiting Alton Towers. Rooms were nice, clean and tidy. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, nothing bad. Reception were great a very nice lady working, treated our daughter exceptionally well. Pool was nice, changing rooms are having an upgrade so we're unavailable, although we were informed of this prior to using them, no problems from me. At least information is given, everyone needs time to make things better.

Comfy stay and excellent service. As a 4-star hotel, I was expecting the bathrooms to have some Bathroom Accessories like Shower Caps, Cotton Swabs, Cotton Pads, disposable cups, etc. For dinner, I ordered two fish and chips as the waiter said they were of a decent size, but they weren't. The fish was just half-sized, which was very disappointing. Breakfast was good but lacked items that a 4-star hotel normally has, like smoked salmon, cream cheese, non-dairy yogurts, cakes, and omelettes (not only scrambled eggs).

Loved our stay at this hotel for many reasons. Location was key for us to visit other places, we walked to the Bet 365 stadium and drove to other places. Food, especially breakfast was excellent and staff wonderful. Marilyn and Tiff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome, we need more of these ladies in many other hospitality venues that's for sure! Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Gym had all we needed and housekeeping very friendly too. Fab stay.

Using this hotel to stop over night before traveling to Alton Towers. Hotel felt clean and fresh and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was ready early for us so we had time to use the pool and health facilities which again felt clean and fresh. We had a double twin room and you guessed it. Clean and fresh. We asked for more tea and coffee and received more than enough Room service was efficient and tasty. We both had the burger and this tasted great. Breakfast was well stocked and food quality and options were above standard and this rounded of a relaxing stop over stay and will definitely use this hotel again if traveling near by.

We like this hotel. My family and I stay when we visit Alton Towers. My only complaint are the pillows being too soft but I won't mark them down for that. Room is always clean, love the reception and dining areas plus the facilities are very good. Breakfast is excellent, lots of options for the us and the kids - also very well cooked, always lovely to settle down to that in the morning. Look forward to coming back on our next trip to A.T. Keep up the great work and high standards!

Great conference room and hotel. Good parking. Lovely food and I did evening buffet , breakfast and lunch . Good choices to suit all, unsure on value for money as I wasn't paying but high quality venue.

Set in a retail and leasure area of Stoke on Trent it's easy to find with parking and an indoor swimming pool. There is a gym, sauna etc on site. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The beds comfortable and great showers compliment the rooms. This hotel is child friendly is very handy to travel to Alton Towers some 10 miles away, waterworld is a couple of minutes walk away. There is a bar , restaurant and lounge area for guests use. The friendly staff are helpful.

Lovely place. The hotel is maintained nicely, no issues with either facilities nor the room. Staff truly solidified the hotel's image with their service and overall behaviour. I found myself enjoying the little study area in my room. A comfortable and productive place. If you ever find yourself nearby and wish for a clean, nicely decorated room, and various breakfast choices to start your day, this is a fantastic place to book.

Visited Etruria Hall for a wedding. Didn't stay overnight, so can't comment on the hotel rooms. The venue room was very clean and beautifully presented. However, the curtains didn't close and the staff member trying to close them explained they were so old and the tracks need replacing. It didn't affect the event, but I was embarrassed for the staff member playing push-me-pull-me with 4 huge sets of curtains. Drinks prices at the bar were what you would expect in a hotel.

We visited here for a pre wedding function. it was in Etruria hall. The hall was big and nicely decorated. it has modern lighting. plenty of free space to walk around. The hotel has plenty of parking but make sure to register your car at the desk. It is easily accessible from the motorway. The toilets were away from the hall. The outside signs were a little confusing. follow the signs for the car park.

I would just like to say a big thank you to the double tree. Myself and wife got married here and our day had a few minor issues but generously for the inconvenience Chloe invited us back to stay as a complimentary with breakfast. We stayed in a lovely suite and it was very nice. So a big thank you to you guys. Lovely staff and lovely location!

We were a group of 15 and our stay was most enjoyable, comfortable and stress free. Family room was spacious & two double beds instead of a sofa bed - bonus! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Location is a short drive from Alton Towers and local amenities restaurants etc. Thank you for looking after us 👍🏼

We stayed here twice this year (2023). The first time was in June, when we spent 2 nights in a double standard room. The second time was 17th August to 20th August for 3 nights in a king junior suite. It's ideally located next door to Water World, a giant indoor water park, which we had plenty of fun at. Alton Towers theme park is also only 30 minutes drive away. The hotel has a lot of amenities pool. Sauna, steam room, gym, etc. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was absolutely lovely. There was a lot of variety. Had a few issues with the king junior suite, which I wasn't happy about, but the hotel manager Agata dealt with it quickly. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends, family, and work colleagues.

This is a idea hotel for families wanting to visit waterworld it literally next door. The reception staff are nice and polite and even got offered a nice warm gooey cookie to which the kids loved. We got a family room ,plenty of place a nice touch with the walk in shower. The cleaning staff are great polite even say hi in corridor an even keep you stocked up with tea/coffee and milk. The beds are massive but unfortunately they are not the comfortably to me, I thought that they were hard to the fact that on the second night I ended sleep the other away around( I got more sleep 😴 💤). Would I come back to this hotel and stop mmm of course I would.

Stayed at this hotel recently. Location great for Alton Towers and very family friendly hotel. Sadly we had to leave a day early due to a family bereavement, the young girl who checked us out was so kind and helpful. I’ve recently received a refund for the night we didn’t stay, this was processed entirely by the staff as we didn’t ask for it. Very kind and personal service, and grateful too for this gesture. Highly recommend the hotel, facilities are great, breakfast was lovely and rooms spacious and comfy. We will be back in future. Thank you.

As a DoubleTree Hilton you expect a good stay at a reasonable price, and that's what we had. A small swimming pool (you need to reserve a time) that gets crowded quickly is still nice to cool off before dinner. The menu is limited but has things for everyone - curries, spicy noodles, steak & chips, pizza - but be careful, some things might run out. None of the food is worth writing home about, but neither is it bad - perfectly adequate. The rooms are large and well appointed, with a decent sized smart TV. Bathroom is nice. Staff were kind enough to quickly provide some toothpaste when asked in the evening, and also friendly, chatty and helpful. There's a small additional charge for the car park each night. Location wise - well, it is very convenient for the waterpark, a big shopping centre and about 45 minutes from Alton Towers. It's not much to look at around the immediate area. Very happy to stay here and would definitely consider again - the pool and gym are a real bonus, and the rooms are comfy and large.

Been to a conference. Food was extremely disappointing for the price paid (>£20 pp and drinks aside). Most food was not cooked properly, odd combination of foods and not the quality you expect for such nice hotel. Second time been there and felt the same. Service was acceptable. Good car park

Top hotel whilst visiting Alton Towers during Easter break. The room and facilities were excellently presented and well maintained. We enjoyed use of the pool, sauna and gym. The buffet breakfast was full of variety and freshly cooked with quality products. The check-in experience was a little slow and we were checked into an unsuitable room in the first instance (Double instead of Twin Double), but on the whole we had a great time as a family.

Beautiful location. Room was spotlessly clean. One colleague serving at the bar early afternoon so had to wait to be served by a very nice young lady. Professional and apologetic for the wait. Breakfast service where was where i met the most engaging staff including one of the chefs. The lady at the desk checking room numbers was so helpful and down to earth. I would love to revisit this lovely hotel👍

The "spa" area is a disaster. The jacuzzi has been removed and one of the two sauna not working. Pool full of diving children, so no chance to relax and cool air conditioning in the changing room to complete the experience. By the way beside the Hotel there are also an Aqua park and a real Spa. More than this, very good room and good service with friendly staff.

  • 4/5 Kirsty G. 1 year ago on Google
Room was spotless. Check in was easy and the location of the hotel was perfect for my needs. Only gripe i had was the breakfast. It reminded me of a cheaper chain. The orange juice wasn't the best in my opinion and the scrambled eggs could have done with being replenished as they had seen better days. The staff were pleasant however and the bed was really comfy so I would use this hotel again as a whole it was a nice stay.

Good rain shower in the rooms. No air con available - fortunately the weather during our stay wasn't too hot. Housekeeping staff were very helpful. Very easy to find the hotel. Warm cookie and complimentary drinks vouchers provided upon arrival.

My original score was one star after poor service. I was given a complimentary room as compensation. I gifted this to my parents for Fathers Day and booked an extra room for me and my husband. Wow! The difference was unbelievable. The staff and service were fabulous! The breakfast is probably the best I've ever had. The choice is phenomenal and so fresh. Thank you to Dawn in the restaurant. Thank you!

Joe, the PT Specialist in the gym area is an outstanding advertisement for your Hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for him. The facilities in the gym, studio, changing areas & reception are five stars too. Qualities like these are second to none. I travel a great deal & I assure you...their people are amazing & their Hotel is too. Brave Joe & Team Doubletree. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a nice overnight stay at the Hilton in Stoke on Trent. We were travelling up the country and needed somewhere to stop on route. The hotel was only 5-10 minutes away from the motorway so it was a really close stop and very convenient for us to continue our journey. The hotel has a big carpark with plenty of parking. The room we had was a good side, had a very comfortable bed and was very clean. We were facing the car park but were undisturbed by any noise. We did not use any of the other facilities. It sounded like a lot of people use the hotel when visiting Alton Towers and as a result there were a lot of families with kids. Nothing to disturb us but I assume the hotel is quite well suited for families travelling together. The hotel had a wedding on the night we arrived but again we had no issue with disturbance. Would recommend if you need a hotel in the area.

We stayed as a family of four here and very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The food was delicious both in the bar and the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want and then a member of staff came over and asked if she could make pancakes for our children. The pool was warm, the room was clean and felt Luxurious. We will definitely be staying again.

Was a pleasurable experience. Friendly staff and very helpful. Beautiful decor and the room we had was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff went above and beyond on a request I had as well. Felt well looked after.

Stayed for one night as was needing somewhere to stay in the local area. Arrived after 5 hour drive quite late around 10pm on Friday 21st October and woman on reception was so lovely in checking us in. Thanks for making us so comfortable after a long day of travelling. Wish I'd caught her name! Room was exactly what we needed with comfy king bed and a great shower.

Great one night stay. We were travelling for a nearby polar express experience. Staff were all so helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious and nicely finished. We had a minor incident in the middle of the night and stuff handled it efficiently and compassionately.

Well what a pleasant surprise. Major refurbishment undertaken. The rooms are fresh, warm, exceptionally clean and comfy. New walk in shower, the old dated baths have been removed although you can probably get a room with a bath but this was not needed for us. Lovely breakfast, buffet style full English, cereals, toast, coffee, juice, Danish pastries, yoghurt. Cannot fault the service, staff are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking. Outside breakfast terrace. We had an evening meal which was really tasty and price was not too high. New bar area and seating with USB charging points. There's a spa , gym and pool but we did not use these on our visit. Lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend.
