Amazing!
The
Blue
Dome
is
one
of
five
towers
in
the
city
of
Maragheh
in
East
Azerbaijan
Province.
This
beautiful
tower
is
a
ten-sided
brick
building
based
on
a
stone
foundation.
A
ten-sided
tower
with
circular
pillars
at
the
junction
of
the
sides.
In
ancient
times,
this
beautiful
and
brick
tower
had
a
conical
dome,
which
unfortunately
was
destroyed
over
time.
The
exterior
of
this
tower
is
one
of
the
most
beautiful
examples
of
Iranian
architecture.
Amazing
brickwork
and
beautiful
geometric
patterns
and
very
eye-catching
turquoise
tiles
can
be
seen
on
all
ten
sides
of
the
building.
On
top
of
each
side
and
above
the
arches,
there
are
Mogharnas
adorned
with
turquoise
tiles,
which
are
very
beautiful
and
elegant.
At
the
end
of
the
tower
is
a
row
of
trains
with
a
combination
of
turquoise
tiles,
which
is
very
eye-catching.
The
geometric
patterns
adorn
each
side
and
the
brickwork
is
very
pleasing
to
the
eye.
Unfortunately,
some
of
the
exterior
decorations
of
the
building
have
been
damaged
and
the
arch
above
the
front
door
has
collapsed
to
some
extent.
Upon
entering
the
tower
and
based
on
the
inscriptions
engraved
on
the
name
of
Jalala,
you
will
realize
that
this
beautiful
tower
is
a
tower-tomb.
Like
all
the
other
towers-tombs
of
this
building,
it
consists
of
two
parts:
the
crypt
or
the
crypt
and
the
nave
or
the
main
prayer
hall.
The
first
part,
or
the
nave,
is
decorated
in
the
most
beautiful
way
possible
with
a
variety
of
delicate
plastering
and
Mogharnas
work
decorated
with
turquoise
tiles.
The
Blue
Dome
of
Maragheh
is
one
of
the
valuable
historical
monuments.
In
this
tower,
there
is
no
inscription
that
determines
the
date
of
its
construction,
but
experts
consider
it
to
be
related
to
the
Seljuk
period
and
attribute
its
construction
date
to
the
year
five
hundred
and
ninety-three.
In
the
view
of
this
tower,
very
exquisite
tile
pieces
like
Negin
are
placed
among
the
brickwork
categories.
Because
the
ratio
of
tiles
to
bricks
is
low,
it
is
very
beautiful.
This
tower
has
ten
sides
and
each
side
of
this
dome
is
more
than
six
meters.
The
decorations
used
in
this
building
are
unique
compared
to
other
buildings
of
the
Seljuk
and
Mongol
dynasties.
The
blue
dome
of
Maragheh
is
located
next
to
the
circular
tower.
