Soba is good, but the ebi-tempura is not so great. The tempura flour was too thick.

The tempura was amazing! So much so, that we ordered a second one after finishing the first one. Their udon and soba noodles were also outstanding. Apart from that, their customer service is top notch! One of the best meals we’ve had in Japan so far. Highly recommended if you are in Takayama.

Superb tasty soba noodles shop frequent by the locals..

Came here on our 1st day of our 3 night stay. LOVED their sour plum soda and their tempura, especially their foraged wild greens! Went back the next day for take away plum sodas (we did over 22,000 steps and needed it!). Today is our last day before we catch an 11:35 train, so of course we went back to have our plum sodas, beer, and zaru soba/ tempura! The staff (girl power!) Are amazing, friendly and so appreciative! Trying to figure out if we can fit in one last fix before jumping on our train 🤔😂😋🥰 I wish I could say, see you next year...but if you ever get ur passport and come to Oahu...😊

Very delicious cold soba noodles with Hida beef. Very refreshing summer dish. The ladies are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend to try if you are looking for real local noodle restaurant. The tatami seating, old photos provides a very traditional Japanese ambience setting.

Best place to eat in Takayama, truly local, Hand Made soba and noodles, super tempura!! excellent quality food for a very convenient price. We've been here two times and It is definitely one of the best places in Japan

Went here in March (twice), some of the best Soba noodles we had in Japan, very friendly, relaxed family atmosphere.

Wonderful restaurant in Takayama. We ate lunch here on our honeymoon and we were treated very well, with much kindness. I have a gluten allergy and the owner helped me choose the right food for me and specially made it to be safe for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine.

We had the yam and assorted tempura soba. Both were very delicious and the staff was lovely and friendly. They also have an English menu and a menu with pictures, which makes everything easier. ありがとうございました!

Really traditional atmosphere, with very good ramens and nice tempuras. You will enjoy the variety of ramens and the soup which is really tasty. I recommend it. Also the personal is very helpful and they speak English for those who don’t understand or speak japanese

Such a lovely, humble place. The service was great and the vegetable tempura was crispy and tasty. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Takayama.
