(Translated by Google) Visited at 11:00 on weekdays. I was looking forward to it because it was popular for sightseeing in Takayama and it was a free paper. Admission by paying 700 yen for adults. Rather than enjoying the retro atmosphere of the Showa era, the main was a rare space where you can enjoy a lot of NES and older games, pachinko and slots around 1990. It's not very wide, but I think people who like games and pachinko can really enjoy it. My wife, who wasn't interested in games, was excited to see Showa goods.

(Translated by Google) March 19, 4th year of Reiwa. This is my first trip to Hida Takayama, and I came to the Hida Takayama Retro Museum! Admission fee 700 yen. Separately, there seems to be a set that can be eaten as well as school lunch. Anyway, it was a place where I could experience the retro era! I was able to play old games, and I missed Mappy and messed up! There were table tennis, table soccer, pachinko, smart balls, and so on, so I could play so much that I forgot the time. From the retro ones of the old days to the nostalgic ones a little earlier, it seemed like people of all ages could enjoy it!

Incredibly kitsch, but I wouldn't call this a museum. You would love this if you were a geek or grew up in the 80's or 90's. Lots of video games and collectibles. Close to the historic part of town.

Stumbled across this museum by accident and it is filled to the brim with retro memorabilia, arcade games, posters etc. You can even buy a nostalgic school bento or some dagashi if you're hungry

If you're into old retro things from the past then this will be just for you. They have everything from toys, pachinko machines, posters, video games, snacks and many more. It is like being thrown into the past and reliving your childhood fantasies. It's very nostalgic and I like how you can even purchase a Japanese school lunch. The cost is 800 yen per person which is reasonable.

Great museum, I understand it is really and amazing experience if you grew up in Japan, as they even offer the school menu you used to get in your youth. If you got some Japanese anime and culture in your country you will enjoy it as well. There is a recreated room with tatami and retro games such as NES soy you can feel his it was too be a Japanese child in the 80's.

Pretty interesting museum! It will transport you to more than 50 years ago. A must place to visit in Takayama. They also sell Japanese snacks and toys. We had fun role playing at this museum.

Pretty retro museum in the heart of Takayama. It's a quick tour for an adult, but if you have kids it's gonna be fun for them to see all of the old toys and games from back in the day 😅

As you walk I to one of two Retro museums in Takayama, you travel straight back into time. Though some of the items and experiences will only bring back memories for people who grew up in Japan, the majority is internationally recognisable. Throughout the tour there's loads of games and machines to try, most of them free. I highly recommend stopping by this museum, Japanese or international traveller, and at the entrance/exit there's a Japanese candyshop.

Fun place to go but I didn't expect to have to pay to play a lot of the games or use the machines - surely that should be covered by the entry fee?

By far the funniest retro museum I have ever visited. You get to play all kind of different retro games from the 90ies. Really fun!

It's fun but a bit expensive for what it is. Some old toys and gaming machines.

Very interested place to get a glimpse into Japanese retro stuff. You get a good idea what is was like 30-50 years ago in Japanese culture.

Great place to experience Showa era (mid 1920s to 1989) in Japan. You can enjoy playing classical video games - like Nintendo super Mario -, emerging yourself into Showa elementary school and su much more! If you are either a big fun of Japanese video games or interested in Showa era in Japan, I would highly recommend to visit this place.
