Fun commercialized limestone cave. ¥1100 admission. Recommended for couples / adult visitors; not really for kids. Inside can be somewhat wet so dress appropriately. I visited in September and it was 10℃ in the cave. The facility provides umbrellas on rainy days because it will drip inside from the rain. Expect to spend about 2 hours.

We managed to drive here in a 2wd Toyota Yaris with studless snow tires when it was snowing hard. Well worth the visit, the caves are just ok, but when you get out of exit 3 and descend you can open the windows and take nice pictures out of the windows.

Very interesting cave, there are some stores and restaurants close to the parking lot, a museum with really cool items, the cave itself is surprisingly very claustrophobic it feels like exploring a real natural cave, very cold inside about 10 degrees and strong winds, overall a fun experience probably the best cave i have been in Japan ✅ 8/10

The cave itself wasn't very special in my opinion. A lot of bright purple LED lights, which makes it possible to see far into the cage, but also disturbs the natural darkness and 'mystery' of a cave. The view after you've exited the cage is great though, definitely worth the trouble of biking/walking up the hill.

This cave is definitely not Great. Much smaller than advertised, from start to exit about 10-15 minutes. There are some nice views, but not many. Museum is also quite pointless.

The place is forced to be a tourist spot. Nothing spectacular. Good thing they sell bracelets and accessories made out of different stones. That i think was the highlight of my visit. I bought stone btacelets.

Included in the 1100 yen entrance fee you get access to a museum that display the collection of artwork of the person who discovered the cave and turned it into a tourist attraction. The cave itself was surprisingly deep, and we spent at least half an hour walking around in there. Temperature inside the cave is around 10 degrees, so you might want to bring a sweater.

Absolutly amazing caves!! Incredible stone/pottery museum near. Nice garden!! Parking is near. At least 150m up inside cave rooms, make time to enjoy - app 90 min for caves. Its cold, but when you will go more up inside - its much warmer as room t.

Happy to feel the power of nature. After visit the cave, we will see a weeded corridor, and the decoration is so nice. Enjoy the natural environment.

A very impressive limestone cave, even if it feels a bit "staged" It is quite large, and even has a small shinto shrine inside. You climb a bit as you make your way deeper inside, and then when you get out - you get to see a view of the area from up high

This is a classic tourist trap. Entrance cost is 1100 for adults and 550 for kids. Not too bad though. Caves were fine, kids enjoyed them. We walked the whole thing in about 40 minutes. Had to dodge several museums, gift shops, and restaurants. Stop here if your kids are in to this or you need to burn some time.

there were 3 caves inside and you can choose to exit after any of the caves. there are q alot of steps inside so not recommended for kids and elderly. the cave was not impressive but the view at the end was amazing during winter!

Cool place to spend the day with some neat rock formations. Bring good shoes. A good place for kids.

👍👍 This place is breathtaking. It is absolutely worth it to take a trip up to this viewpoint. Was one of the highlights of my trip, must-do if in the area. I visited while I was in Takayama, and it is a very easy bus ride there and back.
