Enjoyable meal on a wet night. After a warm welcome from the Chef, I enjoyed an excellent value Hida Beef set. Food is fantastic, service excellent and its all well priced.

Asahi draft. Large wine list. Good cheese platter. Not many vegetarian options, but if you eat beef, extensive options. Very charming place.

The best food and service we've had in Japan. Everything was perfect, the beef was an absolute delicacy. I'd travel back to Takayama just to eat here again.

I ordered the hida beef set menu, and all the dishes tasted great. Quite a cosy place to laze around in the afternoon (unfortunately not for me as I had to rush back to catch the tour bus). The only critic I had was I thought the steak had too much sauce that overpower the raw taste of the meat, and the soup was a little too milky. Price was not cheap at 3800 yen but I had to come and try it out.

My family had a wonderful lunch here yesterday! Even though they offer 1500 yen lunch special, we all wanted to eat Hida beef, so we ordered 4400 yen sirloin steak course. It was very delicious!!! My teens said it was the best steak they ever had. I loved their cold green pea soup as well. We will definitely come back here when we are in Takayama!

This bistro should definitely have more customers and reviews. The pumpkin soup alone is worth coming back for. The set menu is affordable and very delicious. French techniques with amazing Hida Beef. Do Not Miss Out!

Ate lunch here twice. The presentation was delightful, the fish perfectly cooked, the saffron-aise delicious and the chef was kind enough to serve us even though we are not Japanese.

Words cannot describe the food magic you get in this amazing restaurant. I tried the Hida beef sirloin course. And it was fantastic. I felt like in a Michelin restaurant.

Excellent restaurant, delicious food and lovely owners, highly recommend Don’t be put off by the website as doesn’t do the restaurant justice. Perfectly cooked Hida Beef steak, all other dishes delicious too, we had the chicken, steak, fish & pasta, as well as sides of potato chip fries & caesar salad and blueberry tart for desert. Can’t go wrong with selection. Tastes as good as if I was in France. Owners very nice and good English, ended up chatting with them at the end of the evening and very nice!

We loved this restaurant so much that we came here two nights in a row! This is a great place to try Hida beef—there are all different cuts available and it is cooked perfectly. The other dishes are also excellent, especially the pumpkin soup! The owner was so kind, especially to our young daughter who was also with us. It was an overall excellent experience—definitely go here when you are in Takayama!

Very good food, grate atmosphere, Very nice Sheff. Perfect combination for nice evening in Takayama.
