Unprofessional, liars, thieves… don’t believe me, just read everyone telling you that they cancelled and crunch refuses to stay out of their bank account afterwards.. how are they unprofessional you ask? Here goes. 1. Booked my free training session at 7am. Trainer never bothered to show up and the training manager had an “oh well” attitude. 2. Training manager gave out gym goers email address. Tell the gym manager and she had an “oh well” attitude 3. I paid a year in advance but due to their unprofessionalism i asked for my money back for the 6 months that i would not be working out there because i cancelled the membership. Was flat out told No 4. Wrote a complaint on yelp so the district manager called me and asked me to take down the complaint and that he would refund me for the entire year. He never refunded me and never responded to my request for status of the refund - filing a consumer complaint to the government so someone can look into this crunch branch.. everyone cant be just lying on this gym. They need to be looked into. Hope you enjoy the money you refuse to give back to me because i have all the time in the world to file complaints everywhere i can on yall 🙂

For the past 6 months, I have been regularly going to Crunch Fitness and I must say, my experience with exercise and fitness has been amazing so far. The gym offers a wide variety of workout classes and equipment to choose from. In particular, I have been a part of their personal training sessions and have been training under the guidance of Zach. I truly admire his passion and dedication to helping me achieve my fitness goals. The workout sessions suggested by Zach have been extremely effective and enjoyable. Moreover, I am a big fan of the sauna room at Crunch Fitness. It is an excellent way to relax after a rigorous workout.

Stephen was the best opener however, the owners of this gym are definitely con artist‼️ I signed up for a personal training and never attended a session. I canceled a week before and after I told her not to charge my card , $208.00 comes out of my account. I was told they do not refund nor cancel the service AFTERWARDS and I would still be charged every month. I disputed the charges, changed my card, and blocked all future charges‼️ DO NOT RECOMMEND PERSONAL TRAINERS AT THIS GYM. I canceled my membership.

Consumer Beware. I wish I would’ve read the reviews about these guys being scammers before going here. Crunch fitness is the equivalent to Anytime Fitness or Planet Fitness I’d take your business there. They have cheaper plans available their atmospheres are more welcoming too. This location especially is constantly busy morning or night and full of a young demographic given the college campus. It’s not worth it. I move often for work and forgot to come in person to cancel the membership while still located in Florida. There arent any Crunch Fitness where I have moved now. Their solution to this was for me to fly back to Florida and cancel it person. I tried resolving the issue for months through email, phone, speaking with HQ and the “general manager”. They offered no other solution other than for me to fly back to Florida to cancel it. Now I’ve been turned into debt collections, even though I haven’t even been in the state of Florida since March. It’s a ridiculous policy, never have I had this many issues with a freaking gym membership😂 save yourself some money and peace and go somewhere else.

Staff is friendly, but BE WARY WHEN CANCELLING MEMBERSHIP!! I injured my back while lifting in the Tampa Palms location on 9/25/23 and they have continued to bill me ever since AFTER COMPLETING THEIR REQUIREMENTS. I herniated two discs on the morning of 9/25/23, and tried to cancel my membership at the beginning of October. First they INSIST that you come to the facility and physically sign a form to cancel your membership. I could barely walk, let alone drive, and they still made me come in to sign this form. They told me I could only get the last month's fees waived if I emailed them my emergency room documents to their email address. I never did this, because I didn't care about the fee, so THEY NEVER CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP AND HAVE CONTINUED TO BILL ME EVER SINCE. I called the Tampa Palms store today (1/2/23) and spoke with a manager named Niko, who kept insisting to me that I must never have come in and signed the form, when in fact I vividly remember the pain from driving my crippled self (AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE) to this facility to complete their form. I suggested that one of his staff didn't submit the form I signed, and Niko kept telling me that this was my fault and was rude to both me AND my mother on the phone. I have heard from others that cancelling my Crunch membership would be a challenge, but I never imagined they'd treat someone like this who slipped two discs while working out in their facility. I've never had any issues with staff while working out, but this is fraudulent business practice and highly unethical. I will continue to expose this incident on other platforms.

Cancelled my membership in September with crunch and was charged over 200$ since then, signed a form in person at a different location (yes I had the membership for a year) was the phone with billing and financials 3 times and they gave me fake phone numbers to so-called “managers” that don’t even dial. I locked my card and they used my ACCOUNT & ROUTING number to continue charging me, I did not provide that information to them. Eventually had to call my bank to put a payment stop on both my card and bank numbers. Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, and I never be using a commercial gym ever. I will say the man on the phone from this crunch was polite, and offered a solution but it was going to cost even more. Which was not on me at this point. Edit- If I could be provided the appropriate number contact someone to explain this, would be more appropriate then claiming embellishments.

Went in and signed document to have my membership canceled, they told me It was canceled and I wouldn't get charged anymore. Months later I see charges on my card for each month. I call and they tell me they have no record of the cancelation, and even though they can tell I haven't been in since the month I canceled, there is nothing they can do because they don't have the infrastructure to give refunds. Either I'm paying for their incompetence or I'm paying for their malicious business practice. Just wanted to give any potential new members a heads up.

Cancellation policy is not customer friendly. You have to show up in person and if you cancel on the last month of your annual membership, you have to pay the annual fee for the next year plus a month of membership to cancel. Couldn't find customer service number for corporate to even ask for exception. I can create bank accounts, take licensing exams, even buy houses in different states online nowadays but can't cancel a gym membership without showing up

Went to join Crunch on Amberly way at Tampa Palms. Haneen Hassan helped up us. The day after she threaten to us , if we don’t come in to pay or come in to cancel, that we will be sent to collections. So I went in to do the cancellation. The funny thing is that I gave my credit card to charge the 3 months and she said it would show up in 24 hours. I was going to come back the next day, but she already supposedly charged my card. So it should be fine, why go. Then I got a call from them. I called them back and you already know the rest. The threat! I would of never go there, if I knew I was going to be threatened and talked to with disrespect. So save yourself the headache and stress.

Don't even try to come to the gym anytime near closing; all you'll hear is the employees berating the guests to finish their workouts. All the while flickering the lights on and off seconds within closing. The customer service from several employees was terrible. The employees obviously hate working here and will take their miserable mindset out on you, don't waste your money. While my girlfriend and I were finishing up and racking our weights one woman informed us that next time we have to make sure that we're out the door by 11pm due to liability. This occured at exactly 11 on the dot. We continued to finish racking the extra weights in our area. It was the first time I even heard of such a policy so I questioned her about the rule but all she did was repeat the same thing and tell me that I could talk to the manager at front so I let it go. While we were walking out to leave another young woman felt the need to (very rudely) repeat what we just heard and even bring up her job saying that she could be fired and its her job on the line. She stated that we shouldn't be in the gym yet there were a few other guests leaving just as we were leaving as well, that they didn't even acknowledge. The young woman continued to walk and bicker with us as we approached the front desk until she just raised her voice and told us goodnight as she stormed off and continued to make remarks as she was walking away. Finally, another young woman tried to apologize for the second woman's attitude. At this point I'm over it and just want the other woman's name so I could make a complaint. This girl at the front desk not only refused to give me the other woman's name but also became very rude as well. All the while I can hear the second lady still screaming at the back of the gym. This behavior from the staff was blatantly unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this gym to my worst enemy.

****** PLEASE DO NOT SIGN A TRAINING SESSION AGREEMENT WITH CRUNCH **** specially when you plans are uncertain. I had a terrible experience canceling my training session which I never used. I told my plan in advance that I will not be able to start it due to some traveling challenges and person with I signed agreement he said please let us know if things doesn’t work out. Will cancel it for you. I informed him 1 week before my training session which supposed to start and he put my account in freeze. Few months later as I expected due to moving to different location I have to cancel my gym membership and training session. They charged me already one payment and asking to pay one more payment in order to cancel it. This is seriously not fair and I told manger same. They behaved so rude and said you have to make the payment otherwise all remaining payments will be charged too.

Don’t sign a contract for personal trainer they have lots of shenanigans when you want to cancel. I have 7 sessions that I won’t be able to use due to an injury and they won’t refund my last $208 (4 of 7 sessions). I canceled on 1/21 and my account was still charged on 1/30. I didn’t meet their window, as if I knew I would be injured and unable to workout. There’s no one to talk to that can help . The team at the gym doesn’t have contact information for anyone that can offer assistance. I wish I could give this gym zero stars, they care about the rules not people. Terrible leadership terrible treatment from management aspect. .

The gym has good equipment but it seems too small for the amount of members. It’s packed 24/7. Also, there are typically solicitors outside and the trainers don’t stop trying to sell sessions. There are people inside the front entrance area, and outside the front doors and they’re very persistent even after you say you’re not interested. I even had a guy follow me to my car trying to sell me something after I said no. The trainers are also very persistent and constantly approach people in the gym about sessions. I’ve been stopped in the middle of my set by trainers at the gym trying to sell me on sessions more than once on the same day.

This gym is gross the ladies bathroom is disgusting there was a roach in the locker room when I went yesterday. A lady brought her service dog with her, which I understand it’s acceptable, but owner of the dog was in the shower and her dog was walking around the ladies room. This gym is not clean. The one in Brandon is so much better, honestly the gyms Is far from an LA fitness. I just expect cleanliness like its was to many workers at the desk just talking, for them not to help our and clean around the gym. However, the front desk was friendly, there just not keeping there workplace up to part for there customers.

Crunch fitness on Amberly Palms is by far the greatest. I was greeted by an amazing trainer named Wally. I was very impressed by the professionalism and knowledge this gentleman had. 👏😉 If you follow me you know I'm all about knowledge and professionalism! Aside from the great training and feedback I had with Wally the trainer. The facility was exceptionally clean front desk and tables were organized. It smelled clean 👃🧹 not musky. I left my first session with Wally feeling sculpted. My butt was firmer, thighs were nice and tight. The workout was not strenuous or over bearing in fact it was easy and do able. His skill and technique to train is definitely a fit for me. I absolutely loved my first experience at this establishment. Come join guys I recommend it. 💪💯

Called to cancel because I moved. They told me I have to physically come in the gym to cancel. Months later when I’m actually in the area again I come in the gym to cancel. They tell me I have to give them a 30 day notice and my annual fees are coming up so I have to pay them to cancel plus next month. I never write reviews but why is it so hard? I’m not gonna pay to not use the gym lol

Gym itself is fine. Any gym could always use more racks. The employees can be a bit annoying. Though thats just Crunch for you. They are 70% sales person, 30% fitness professional. On your way out its like walking past one of thise kiosks in the middle of a mall walkway. They just dont leave you alone. If you say no to their PT rates, then all of a sudden there is a sale going on and its actially 15% off. I kid you not, the guy just flipped the page over with the cheaper rates.

I have been going to the gym for about a year now. At first, I was a little bit put off by how they pressured you to sign up for the kickoff sessions. At the price point it was at wasn't something I could easily work into my budget. During Black Friday they published a deal/sale, and I signed up. At first, I didn't care for it much and being a woman that goes into the gym as a novice it can be intimidating at times seeing all the people working on their routines. I had no idea where to start and would feel overwhelmed. After the past could months of working with Sophia. She has given me the confidence and strength now to not worry about what others are doing and focus on my own improvements. I have even seen the improvements on my overall body changes and non-scale victories. Thanks for pushing me to be better with each workout. Keep up the good work!! To me my health is worth it and I will invest into it and make it a priority.

Staff has been nice. I couldn’t wait for the new location to open so I came here in the meantime. Seems oriented to younger crowd. The gym itself is a bit small so you feel like sardines in a can during peak hours + long wait times for machines. Atmosphere is not so great, other gym goers aren’t too keen on manners and etiquette. Not a big fan that kids under 18 are allowed without parents present. Will have to wait 3 months until I can cancel and try somewhere else, but again staff has been kind and helpful. Will try the new location when it opens.

They act exercise unfair billing practices! If your behind you can't cancel the continue to bill you and will not close your account to stop further billing!! Spoke with Mgr. Trevor could not believe my ears. How bad of a practice is this and unethical. Although we are not in a contract just month to month.. They are money hungry. The principle of it all not to mention have not been to the gym in several months.

People here are scammers and liars, STAY AWAY. I have sent a text message to my trainer to pause my personal training sessions due to a knee injury while he said sure he can do that. But he requested the cancellation after a week which made me outside the "10 days notice" in the contract and then I was responsible for a new payment. I contacted the "manager" and he said there is nothing he can do! I am also trying to cancel my membership and they told me I can't do it now because it's less than 3 months and after the 3 months I have to come cancel in person although I told him I am going to be outside the country

If you want to spend money to join a crowded, cramped, and overworked equipment filled gym then this one is for you. Cramped and crowded. Way too much equipment crammed into too small of a place. They need to expand and spread the equipment out. Additionally, many of the machines are not properly working. The weights are off on the various machines. Also wants to keep your ID of you’re a guest. Hello identity theft?

I have been a member for almost a year , the facility is pretty spacious with plenty of all kinds of equipments. The real Champs are the employees who are professional, well mannered and helpful. There are equipments for every muscle group. During week days usually the evening times are rush , so I" d go around 8 to skip the rush. And the hours are usually shorter for the weekends, so make sure you check out their website.

Got kicked out for wearing slides. They require you to wear closed toe shoes. Because somehow a closed toe shoe is actually going to meaningfully better protect your foot from a weight falling on your foot. If you're actually serious about protecting feet from falling weights, why aren't you requiring steel toed shoes, or you know, something that actually might help. Edit: In case you are wondering, yes, I was wearing socks with the slides.

Equipment is not good. 4 of the 5 upright spin bikes have broken toe straps and one is completely out of order. Sad I pay for a peak membership so I can spin in the morning before work and they provide broken equipment.

The staff in the front was rude when I visited and customer service is a huge things to me. When we were asking questions they were mean and didn’t seem to have patience nor compassion. This location was in a convenient location but I won’t consider working out here and I’ll find another gym where the people are kind.

Great staff at this location! Trevor is always quick to adjust or fix things that are brought up to his attention and has an “all hands on deck” mentality (example: helping and pitching in to clean spills/accidents and rerack misplaced weights). Ryan consistently greets you with a smile, is enthusiastic, and takes the time to actually know your name. Freddie is always positive, courteous, and wants you to succeed in your fitness goals and be consistent. Aaron is very polite and friendly. Some equipment can be out of order, but orders are placed for replacements once notified and not under the control/fault of the on-site staff.

This is the place to be at if you are looking for the energy and experience you need to get in shape for an upcoming event. Lots of awesome personal trainers, group fitness classes, riding classes. All for a very reasonable price. I personally was out of motivation and the right guidance to get in shape for a wedding and one conversation with Taylor (Assistant Manager always around the reception) and support and motivation from Trevor (General Manager) and I am on track to my fitness goals. They really find you and put you on the right path if you are on time CRUNCH!!!

Staff is awesome, everyone is always smiling. It’s not the worst… but I definitely will say they could do better with the cleaning. Requiring everyone to wipe their machines off after every use only after Covid happened ofc, you would think that they would at least dust the air vents in the treadmills once a month at least so that way you’re not getting Covid FROM 2019, not the new strain the original…Not my favorite gym, because of this reason it just is not clean.. ever. Hair hanging from random equipment… I used to have to use the showers before work, they were so disgusting I genuinely switched gyms to eos when they opened.(only sanitary gym I’ve tried. esport is no where close to me nor is ymca and planet fitness is honestly no better than crunch) Now working from home I’m back at amberly crunch…. Hillsborough crunch is no better sanitary wise in the showers, bathrooms or the cleaning of equipment.

The good: Plenty Of Machines and Free weights. Enough space so you don’t feel crowded at all when working out. Nice staff. The bad: The Sauna is not hot at all. I’ve gone to other crunch fitness and 15 Minutes inside is all you need. Never any hand towels in the bathroom. Crunch Carollwood always has a few rolls in there. The Shadow boxing in the bags area by wanna be mma fighters. Go join a martial arts gym. They close early on weekends but that’s most crunch gyms.

I had a great experience! I was there only to set up for a monthly membership. But once they connected me with one of their personal trainers I got even more motivated and signed up for their personal trainer service. The personal trainer that I'll be working with is Will. Well was very knowledgeable and was able to focus on 100% of my goals and how I can obtain them. Everyone there is friendly and the atmosphere is great 👍

Before today this gym was awesome. But when another member verbally threatens you and calls you slurs, they should be kicked out the gym no ifs or buts. That was not the case instead I was told just file a complaint and it will be posted on their membership. Nothing against the staff but that is unsat. Definitely will never step foot in another Crunch.

  • 2/5 Maria P. 2 years ago on Google
Horrible customer service (unless you're joining of course - then they're as nice as can be). They make it nearly impossible to quit your membership and still find ways to get the maximum amount of money from you if you do decide to quit. The gym itself has a good variety of equipment but it is always packed and the music is beyond loud.

Policy scam to cancel membership! Do not take there Peak membership. I have moved from Florida to Texas and they are making the cancelation policy extremely painful. They are asking to be physically present in gym at this specific location or to ask someone to be their for you or sending them a physical letter in mail. In the time of internet/emails they are keeping such horrible policy and sucking the money out of you. Poor policy and management, beware!!!

I came in for a workout and was kind of nervous to be in a new, busy gym. Ryan at the front desk showed me around the gym and made me feel more comfortable working out. Hats off to Ryan for being personable and overall kind-hearted. He has made my first impression of Crunch Tampa Palms a good one.

I have been going to crunch tampa palms for almost 4 years now. I trained with 5 different personal trainers and was almost ready to discontinue personal training until I started working out with Brian. He is amazing. He has personalized workout for me on NASM app for each day. He knows so much about muscle building and workouts and stretches to avoid injuries. He is also very professional. Gives full one hour time each session and never charges me if I don’t show up.

It’s about a trainer feedback named as Samual A (Sam) is a really cool, devoted trainer he always try to listen and understand and give his 110% to create value for customer. I really appreciate and happy to get trained with him. He is very much polite and cooperative with customer, I feel like got my value of money and time. I went to the front desk to Inquire about Personal Training. The Very nice Guy at the front desk walked me over to the personal training table to ask the Assistant Personal Training Manager if they could help me find another trainer because the one I asked for does not work there. Explain to me why the Assistant PT Manager literally dismissed the both of us. WITH HIS HAND. I guess what the blonde next to him had to say was more important than a Person LITERALLY ready to sign up for PT RIGHT AWAY! Now i obviously will never train there. Never have I ever felt so disrespected by an employer and it actually brought me to tears because I wanted to Put him in his place for being so disrespectful not only to me but to his employees. I didnt though because I’m trying to be an adult. So I decided to just come here so whoever is this douches boss. They can remind him that his money comes from selling Pt packages and he should care about that more than the pretty blonde. To the girl with the braids who tried to clean up his mess thank you. I now see why that trainer I wanted is no longer there. I have a feeling he treats all his employees like trash. Hopefully you guys care about the employees enough to check on how they are being treated. That man saw me at the gym 5 more times not once did he apologize. And I saw his picture on the screen like hes some kind of Leader. Ive worked at Esporta Fitness Up the Block on Bruce b downs and THEY NEVERRRRRRRR treated people or employees like that.

Just started coming to crunch fitness 5 days ago. Wonderful staff and plenty of equipment to get any type of workout you need. The price of the membership is excellent compared to what you get with it. Weight is mostly re-racked, which I always find quite rare (I assume mostly by staff, which is greatly appreciated!). Overall my experience with crunch has been very positive and will absolutely assist in continuing my growth.

I've been a member of Crunch Fitness Tampa Palms for several months now, and I couldn't be happier. The atmosphere is energetic and inspiring, motivating me to push myself during workouts. The facility is well-equipped, featuring everything I need for a comprehensive exercise routine. The personal trainers are exceptional, providing valuable guidance and personalized workout plans. Additionally, the pricing is affordable, making it an excellent value for the quality of the gym. Crunch Fitness Tampa Palms has become my go-to fitness destination.

From the moment I stepped foot into Crunch Gym, I felt welcomed and supported by the friendly staff and the vibrant atmosphere. The facility itself is top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment, well-maintained workout areas, and a variety of fitness classes to cater to every interest and fitness level. I can't say enough positive things about Crunch Gym, and I have to give a special shout-out to the incredible staff Haneen and Ryan. If you're looking for a gym that will exceed your expectations and trainers who will inspire and empower you every step of the way, I wholeheartedly recommend Crunch Gym.

I've been training with Val for a few months now and i have noticed such a boost in my confidence when it comes to understand form and progress. One of the biggest achievements I get to see in person. The intentionality with her training has had me feel more aware of my time and measurements. The visual progress has truly helped. Can't wait to see how much more I grow under her. Fully recommend !

Trevor, Aaron, Ryan, Freddie, Hanin, Erica, Q, you name it this place got it. I first joined back in July 2020 and I could not have been happier with the service I received. I have changed so much as a person because of this place. Even when I didn't go due to outside circumstances, they greeted me and offered me the services they provide to get me back on track. I will always have Crunch Tampa Palms for my college experience and will forever be grateful for the staff here. I recently graduated and I am so sad that I'm leaving this area. Hope to see everyone again, til we meet again. -Edward D

I had the most unpleasant experience dealing with the manager Monica. I cancelled my membership in person at the Tampa Palms location. I was told by the staff I was all set. Now, 5 months later I get a call that it was never cancelled and it is in collections. When I asked for a detailed billing report, etc, Monica refused to send it to me, and was very disrespectful. She replied," Girlfriend-you better just pay this or it will be the first thing against your credit when you open a credit card." I have tried to reach out to corporate and other managers to report this situation. They can see that I have not attended at all since May and should stand behind the fact that it was cancelled in person. Not very professional to accuse someone of lying and not cancelling it. Running a scam business and telling young gym members that their membership was cancelled, when actually they had every intention of still trying to collect on it. Preying on naive students-I was actually 17 when I signed up for my membership-on my own without any parental consent. Not sure how that is even legal as well- So, I hope that Crunch decides to fix this problem.

Scam, they bring me in with the scam of saying that the first month was 1 cent, and made me sign a contract agreement with a permanence clause of 90 days. The monthly membership after the first month that they charged was $18.36, this is an overpriced monthly charge considering they now have a plan on their website that is only $9 monthly. Additional to the monthly membership, they made you pay a annual fee of $53.74. You can’t cancel the membership in the first 90 days and if you wait the full 90 days you still to need to give them a written cancellation note with 30 days of advance. This kind of contract makes no sense, is ridiculous, you are opting in for a gym and nothing else, it is not like if you are inverting in stock or something bigger, but this contract imprisons you in such a disgusting way that makes me sick. Plus, the gym is always full of people, they have no customer service, poor hygiene, and both their page or app are full of bugs. Never recommending this place to anybody.

Overall, I have had a good experience at this gym, but upon re-starting my membership I was basically harassed by a staff member at the front desk to sign up for the “kickoff.” The staff member was persistent even after I respectfully declined, asked a series of badgering personal questions and continuously questioned why I would not pay even MORE money on top of my membership for this service that I do not need or want. They insisted that I “definitely knew my schedule” and had no reason not to schedule this session with him. It was beyond ridiculous. It is extremely unprofessional and almost made me want to cancel my membership.

Told me I had cancelled and had me sign. Never got any details on it and was still charged the next two months saying they “had no record of it”. Convenient for them the man who had cancelled my membership was no longer working for them. Continued to charge me for a third month to cancel. Outside of this issue, the gym is actually very nice and has all the equipment you would need.

😠 I was assaulted at this gym by this individual. Management has not been helpful as I have not heard anything back from corporate. This same male broke a machine while I was on it and the staff did not press charges. They clearly condone violence . My membership was suspended without further notice,...

👍👍 This location is hands down the best! The trainers are welcoming and patient. There's always a staff associate wiping equipment down. The Women's Locker room and showers are always clean. 😠 We have moved and this gym is not where we live, so my partner called to cancel the membership he had for years, and now he wants to cancel and what they do is make excuses not to cancel and continue stealing money, he has not done it. 😠 I have been a member at this gym for over 1 year. I am not sure what has changed in management in the past few months, but the gym is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY now (has been getting worse over the past ~6months (during a pandemic no less). If there are WADS OF HAIR and GRIME under EVERY SINGLE machine, I c...
