I was assaulted at this gym by this individual. Management has not been helpful as I have not heard anything back from corporate. This same male broke a machine while I was on it and the staff did not press charges. They clearly condone violence . My membership was suspended without further notice, this is the second time I have been assaulted at a crunch franchise. They do not support black women, as no investigation was conducted when I was assaulted by a black male at the Crunch Amberly gym as well. The police are now involved. If you are a black woman, I would stay far away from this gym. UPDATE ‼️ truly, beware if you are physically assaulted by someone here. I just got off the phone with the incompetent manager Jesus, who needs to be fired, he is refusing to work with the police to identify this individual who caused me bruises by assaulting me at the gym. He said police has to contact corporate who doesn't even have an actual number. Refusing to cooperate with the police and allowing crimes that your establishment is absolutely disgusting. Attend this gym at your own risk, I recommend carrying personal protection.

Visiting this gym have me so much energy and positive vibes. The staff was very friendly which is much needed in a new place. The dance class really excited me most and I have a few week to try out before going. I love the atmosphere and the management team was very warning and welcoming. New home.

The gym itself is nice and spacious. However, the staff can be unprofessional. I had a front desk trainer laugh at me for wearing a mask. Also had cleaning people cuss me out for stepping on their wet floor (mind you there was nowhere else to walk than that entrance). Have seen staff joking and goofing off like they’re not at work, makes for an awkward environment if you’re just going to work out. Overall nice gym but staff could be better towards paying members & more professional.

This is the absolute worst crunch gym, very misogynistic, and very unprotective of women. I am following up to my initial review where I was assaulted here by Latino male gym member. I was told by the manager Jesus that I was not assaulted because it wasn't caught on camera. The member broke the machine that I was on and nothing was done in consequence because he is still allowed back at the gym. Now they are further adding to my pain and suffering by making me come into the gym to cancel my membership, where the same offender could be. Plus keep in mind this guy broke equipment, and is still allowed to attend, so there is no accountability for violent members. All of this because I did not want to share my workout machine with his sleazy girlfriend. I do not recommend this gym at all very unprofessional staff and customer service. They are saying I'm responsible for paying an entire year $50 , because I want to cancel due to not knowing when my membership would be restored. Basically threatening my credit because I don't want to attend a hostile gym environment. Expect a hefty lawsuit. Very disgusting Manager Jesus

Machines are in decent shape. The age of the building is showing a little but it's not bad. My biggest complaint is the volume of the music they play. I have good headphones with noise cancelling and still can barely hear my own music. I've told the front desk staff twice about it and it's never changed. Unfortunately management isn't in the building at the time I workout. I would like to add the other Crunch locations do not have this problem, only the Hillsborough one. Otherwise not a bad gym for a good price. Update 09Jan2024: Despite someone addressing this review below nothing has changed.

I’m giving this place two stars because I like going to the gym late at night, but every time I come to this location, they BLAST their music so loud that I can hear it over my own headphones. I’m all for playing music at the gym to have something going in the background and fuel the ambiance you want for a gym, but there’s is so unnecessarily loud that I can’t even focus during my workout. Worst part is when I asked them to turn it down one time (hoping they got the hint), they did it for one song then turned it back up. Not everyone likes to listen to the same style of music when they lift - just be courteous to your members.

Good gym, but there's room for improvement. Machines are often broken for example cable machines and belted machines. Many of my friends including myself wish there was a machine called hammer strength plate loaded iso-lateral row. It would save us the trip of going to other gyms that have it, we'd love that!

I have made multiple attempts to cancel my account here.. I am homeless and out of work and they refuse to cancel a membership that has not been used in months. I went up there to cancel and they tricked me and froze my account instead. This particular Crunch is a franchise and not owned by corporate Crunch. They continue to charge my account.. I have not embellished anything the fact that you can come on here and basically say that I have let's me further know what kinda of scam you are running at this gym. You take advantage of clients and when they don't want to be apart of your gym anymore you make it so difficult to get away from you. On top you try to charge just to leave if you read the comments of others that say the same thing about your contract issues you would see this is true.. But I guess they have embellished there's as well. So if it so serious to respond here call me and cancel my contract you have my name and you know who is writing this review.

Beware of this gym it’s not the best deal and they will miss charge you. Woke up today to duplicate charges on my account called and spoke with Nicole she was nice however after being put on hold multiple times was told the company couldn’t do anything for the duplicate charges without me in person. Even though she verified the charges. All this conveniently happening after I told them I will be canceling my membership since the gym was unkept and poorly managed. EOS is a way nicer gym and better deal for anyone new to town and looking. Overall my experience with this gym has been disappointing and has ended up costing me 230$ in the last week so beware they will not refund you.

I have been coming to this gym for years with no problem but this last week they have done something I find entirely disrespectful to the people that come here. A gym is a space for you to be HEALTHY so how are they allowing an environment that is unhealthy? They have been painting for a week or more and the smell of paint is HORRIBLE. Since when is inhaling paint fumes good for you? They would rather expose people to chemicals than close the gym for a few days. The smell is so strong I walked out with a headache feeling terrible when a workout is meant to help you feel good. I tried coming in today hoping the smell would be gone and it was worse than the other day. I literally walked right back out. It’s crazy how money is more valuable than people’s health. I never would have thought I would experience this here. I will be looking for somewhere else to workout.

The difference between good and great is attention to detail. As a veteran and someone used to working out, I thought I was good working out by myself, but when I started working out with Kevin, I understood what greatness was. Kevin pushed me not only physically but mentally as well. Kevin showed me that I could do more than I thought I could do and do it more efficiently. When it comes to working out, you can do good working out by yourself or with a random trainer. But, if you want to be great there is only one trainer to work with and that is Kevin!

Yessss. What a great find. I travel sooo much and finding the right gym especially a 24hr gym with knowledgeable and friendly staff isn't always easy. I so appreciate the help Danny gave my son and I. My family live near the area so we will be back! 100%

An absolute fan of this gym and the staff. The staff is ultra friendly and always ensuring that the gyms and machines are clean. Not constantly haggling you for personal training services like other gyms. Very open diverse and friendly environment. Also, Shout out to Connie for always making sure the gym is cleanly with a smile on her face. That goes a long way! A+

Weights, plates, dumbbells all over the floor, OSHA would like a word with you. The employees may be responsible for cleaning it up, don't blame them for other peoples messes. But ultimately memberships should be disabled for people who can't clean up after themselves; but "money", so that will never happen. Music shouldn't be louder than the audio in my earbuds at full blast. Pretty sure loud audio is bad for the hardware playing it, often wonder how many speakers they go through a month... Some gym equipment should be decommissioned they are soooo damaged or locking pins are broke, cables frayed, rubber floor mats torn. Oh an worst yet, people on routines of 12 sets, 1 rep, 5 min rest between sets, text, hold a conversation, next set. Lather rinse repeat. I just want to be in and out in 45min or less. Last few sessions lasted 1.5 hours because people's social life > workout. Been to this gym before, renewed recently, nothing has changed. Edit: Respectfully in response to the latest Crunch reply, I am not complaining of the Staff, they are not my problem. People who use the equipment are the problem, not being sensible about how to utilize gym equipment, or educate themselves on proper usage to avoid breaking something. Keep up the good work Crunch, but nothing has changed with the behaviors and habits of membership dwellers. 😑

I've recently relocated to Tampa from Orlando about 3 months ago...And I must speak on how ridiculously impressed I was on how CLEAN I instantly noticed this location was compared to other CF locations since my 1st time walking in. I've been coming in several times a week since moving and can't express how nice and clean it's been Every Time I come. I've been to several CF locations throughout Orlando + Tampa and have never been in one this nicely kept and organized. I'll never forget my very 1st day coming in after work, walking into the ladies restroom and noticed the cleaning attendant wiping down the walls (Wow!) Never seen a gym being cleaned so thoroughly. Last week I came in and had to stop to let the cleaning staff (Orlando and Paulina) know how much I appreciated the work I always see them do because it is definitely noticed. I'm beyond impressed from day 1 and will continue to come here knowing that's the standard at this location. 👏 Keep up the good work.

I’ve been going to this gym for almost two years, it has a lot of equipment and friendly staff. But men’s locker room and restroom is absolute disaster, it seems like they’re avoiding cleaning it on purpose. I’ve been to many gyms in different states and countries but I’ve never seen one that dirty, urinals also have a tendency to overflow, something is should be done about that

I have been going to this gym for about a year and a half now and I love the energy and environment and the staff. I'm currently on what I call my sexy alive tour with a great trainer and person named Kevin Herrel who is employed there. His fun and unique way of training makes fitness fun and enjoyable while really pushing yourself to be better everyday which is one of my personal goals which to have fun while becoming my best self possible. Not only is Kevin a great trainer but he is a great person and one of my favorite people there 😀 and I'm happy to call him a new friend as well if your looking for someone to help you reach you're goals you will definitely be in great hands with him

Crunch is never open when they say they will be open on the weekends even with renovation going on. People that show at 4am in the morning like me to a 24hr gym were told that this Saturday they would be open at least by 5am. It is now a whole hour later and there is still no one here! Crunch is a real disappointment! With anyone that comes here during the day, us morning look to get a workout in and get out so there is no waiting on machine or equipment! At this location this is a continuous problem loyal paying customers.

Solid gym, plenty of racks and different areas to work out privately if preferred. Classes are good, often and free. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Been working with trainer Kevin for over a month and am seeing progress towards my goals. He is super motivating, knowledgeable and ready to pivot if something isn’t working. I wanted to do some boxing and he helped me get started. They have multiple heavy bags and gloves to borrow if you ask. One star off because they need a captains chair and to be 24/7 not just 24/4. The ladies room is often in need of tissue but I go early morning so maybe thats an issue of timing. Best bang for you buck.

I’m always here. It’s worth the price. The classes are good. The only downsides are people don’t clean up after themselves. It can get dirty from paper towels getting left on machines. Also I wish they would not blast music during yoga class. Without fail every class they turn up the volume in the gym while we’re ending class. It really kills the vibe. Maybe keep it lower until the Monday night class is over. *edit for the comment below: It’s been addressed before. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Look at the the reviews complaining of noise. You say the same thing instead of addressing the staff yourself.

Great gym, good atmosphere and lots of machines with a large variety. Only downside is that it can get busy during peak hours. After coming here for a long time, I started working with the trainer Kevin and he’s a real professional. He will design a detailed workout plan for you and your needs/goals, always keeps it fresh and will help you get to the best version of yourself. He goes out of his way to take care of his clients. Working with him is an absolute pleasure, highly recommend.

I’ve had the best experience here. I’ve had my membership since 2018 but never actually used it until 2020 when I started my fitness training with Jesus and since around September October with Sam Gavin. He’s been more than just a trainer he’s been a friend making sure everything goes smooth and that I never loose my focus. Costumer service is amazing every single trainer will take care of you as a family. Best gym ever.

Excellent facility. Enjoys all the usual fun Crunch specialties, like, my favorite, the monkey bars (long monkey bars, I must point out). The staff is very friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. Best of all, this is one of the very few full service 24 hour weekday facilities. Therefore, I can start my workout at midnight, and still get in all of my usual 3 hours 😀. See you all there.

I've been there at 6am, 8am, 8pm, and midnight. The place is always too crowded to find an open machine or equipment. It's also the kind of gym for people already in pristine shape. Not the kind of gym for people seeking to improve their body. I tried to come here four times, I always leave feeling judged by the roided out dudes who either stare or offer me condescending help as to how I should be lifting. I spend most of the time wandering around looking for an open machine to use. Won't be returning

The gentleman who signed me up was nice. Lack customer service for the rest. When I joined, first of all I was asked to come back the following day. I did not get a tour of the facility. I had to find bathroom and showers on my own. When I entered the bathroom is when I saw the lockers and showers. They were only interested in selling training. After they found out I wasn't paying for a trainer, they were literally done with me. Left to wonder on my on. I had my silver and fit membership changed to YMCA (advised by my doctor).

Literally worst gym experience ever. I go for the first time, no real tour. I came for a class, I told him and he didn't explain check in or anything just told me where it was. No one opened the door for the class but rather stayed in with the door closed and went class to class with no sign at all to come in. So I missed the class. Then I wanted to go in the tanning booth. Told them, also told them I had go goggles for it. He tried to send me with no goggles, just closed the door on me and said nothing. I had to come back out to all of they had goggles to sell. Another employee had to help me, first employee didn't know they did. So I go back to the tanning room and there is like 5 minutes left on the timer to end. He didn't restart it. First time at this gym and I was left clueless because no one explained anything about anything. And of course, they are also pushy about getting a trainer there. Super irritating when you're just trying to enjoy your experience of the gym for the first time. I won't be back. I went to the land o lakes location the following day and had a great experience.

I like this gym. I love that it’s open 24 hrs during the week. Love my trainer Jason. My only complaint, like others, is the volume of the music. It’s especially loud overnight, which doesn’t make sense. I was there at 1:30a and the music was BLASTING. My partner couldn’t even hear me, I had to yell. So yeah, if the whole music volume could be worked out that would be great.

I enjoy it there. I've been going on and off for a few years now, and the place has changed in the last couple of years for the better. Everyone is friendlier. Recently, a trainer stopped me and really listened to all my problems. This trainer wasn't afraid of all my problems. I could see the wheels turning in her head on how she was going to help me. If you want a trainer who cares, talk to Dalila.

I love this gym! The lockers are always clean and tidy. The cleaning staff works hard to keep everything fresh + Connie is amazing! I absolutely love seeing her when I’m there. All the Staff is friendly and and it’s 24hrs. I use the sauna daily. It’s at the perfect temp for health, muscle, health, and mental benefits. Sometimes I just come for the sauna. I’ve been with crunch for 3 months and very happy I went with them!

I’ve been to many gyms over the years and competed for 28 years. (credibility) This gym is excellent with plenty of space, very nice staff, and doesn’t get over crowded. It is clean and loaded with plenty of new equipment. I’m not writing this review because they gave me a free energy drink, but because it is a great gym! And membership costs are very low

Jackie is THE BEST group fitness instructor. She really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Brayden is also the absolute best personal fitness coach. Decent gym, like most would expect it’s very busy like anything that’s affordable in Tampa. The female trainers and front desk staff are always kind, personable and happy to help. The dudes are a mixed bag lol and that’s putting it nicely. Shoutout to Alonso, Roman and Big Ray- they’re approachable and very personable. For the other handful of 5-6 male PTs, y’all please work on your customer service skills. Be as polite as you are to female members to males. Stop mean mugging. No one farted, there’s not any reason to pace around the gym with stink face grilling other members. Overall, this is a solid gym for the money- just understand that it’s going to be very busy during peek hours.

I couldn't be more impressed with the impeccable cleanliness of Crunch Fitness Hillsborough, all thanks to the hard work and dedication of their new cleaning lady! From the gym floor to the bathrooms, every corner sparkles, creating a welcoming and hygienic environment. Her attention to detail is truly commendable – the gym equipment is not just clean but sanitized, the floors are spotless, and the bathrooms are immaculate. It's evident that she takes great pride in her work, and it doesn't go unnoticed. Walking into Crunch Fitness has become an absolute delight, knowing that it's not only a space for a great workout but also a space that prioritizes hygiene and cleanliness. Kudos to our fantastic cleaning lady for going above and beyond in making our gym experience exceptional. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to maintaining a pristine workout space. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! 💪🧹🌟 #CrunchFitnessCleanliness #SpotlessGym #FiveStarService"

This place has everything you need. It gets pretty packed but the people are so nice that I don't even mind it. There are many trainers to help with any questions you have and they all are in great shape. I love the diversity in the gym equipment. The cardio machines being placed upstairs is also a nice feature.

The only con I see is The gym can be really packed and sometimes feel like a night club with the music and can over power your own gym mix. Biggest pro is my trainer Kevin, in 2 months I have already reached my first goal. He is also very accommodating and flexible with our workout plans since I have stitches in my shoulder. Great person and great motivator.

Awesome gym! I always get a great workout in. I also found a wonderful trainer named Kevin who is great at what he does. Super friendly guy and down to earth individual. He is your guy if you’re looking to gain speed, muscle, and lose fat%.

I should've joined years ago! Excellent equipment and amenities. Whole staff in general makes you feel welcome and valued. Jesus was very welcoming, informative, and I never felt pressured to do anything. Alonso is also an awesome trainer. He takes time to get to know you, is extremely knowledgeable, and allows you to work at your own speed while still pushing you to be your best. I've never been so excited to go to the gym.

Essential Pros & Cons: Pros - it's 24 hours, Staff is Friendly classes are good, equipment is on point. Cons - it's ALWAYS packed. even over night, it's rare when it's at 50% capacity, This Gym isn't beginner friendly. You'll feel like you need to work out before you go to the gym, to go to the gym. Types of people that go there are less concerned about health, and more concerned about looks. Overall: It's actually a Good Gym, you just have to deal with gymtimidation. Notes: If you're trying to lose weight and get healthy I wouldn't really recommend this place. If you have a group of friends that you want to train with and muscle up with, to go out at night. This is your place.

I love coming to this gym! It’s spacious and everyone is inviting. The main reason I’m giving a 5 is because of my experience having a personal trainer. Kevin was my personal trainer and he was on point with communicating sessions, any questions I had, showing me the plan and executing on it. He helped me reach my goal within reasonable time and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer

  • 5/5 Tevin M. 2 years ago on Google
I’ve been training with Kevin for a over a year now & believe he is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. I really enjoy the variety & challenge he put into the sessions and fitness plans. Kevin is focused on helping me achieve my goals and stay consistent. My fitness has increased noticeably & I’m getting the results I wanted. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to reach their goals.

Crunch fitness remains as the best bang for your buck gym and this gym is no exception. Lots of equipment, good size for the amount of people that go there (the times I go anyway). The big issue at this place is there is no etiquette at all. Nobody puts their weights or equipment away when they are done and rarely do I see people wiping the equipment when they are done.

  • 4/5 cjblan 1 year ago on Google
I would give the club itself 2-3 stars for several reasons and compared to other locations; however, my trainer, Kevin H., is an excellent, 5-star trainer at this location who accommodates my variable schedule and helps me with my personal fitness objectives. He goes above and beyond, motivating his clients outside of the training slot and encourages us with "extracurricular" workout opportunities. I should also include that when I frequented this location, I understand it may have been under different management, and so things may be improved now (I only go strictly for training sessions now).

Jackie’s cycle class is like no other. Her class is always high energy, great music, and a fun/friendly environment. She has such a huge and amazing following. Her classes are always full and I’d follow her to any gym for her any type of fitness classes. You not only get a great workout every single class with her, but you gain getting to know an even greater person. We all would love another day of cycle (more than 2 days a week) even a hiit class with Jackie would be awesome. She is the reason I am a member at Crunch Fitness. Thank you Jackie!! ♥️

My favorite Crunch location in Tampa. Very very clean and lots of variety on machines, weights, and cardio. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Great amenities and atmosphere, I don't feel judged working out like I have at some other locations. Very diverse clientele that mind their business while working out, what more could you want out of a gym

Wow, I was impressed! I went to check the place out, and I walked out with a membership. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the gym's changing areas & bathrooms were very clean. They have different plans, and they all are very affordable. One of the best features for me is that they are open 24 h mon-Fri and Saturday and Sundays most of the day! Looking forward to start working out again. Welcome 2023!!!

I just took the spin class with Jacqueline H at crunch Hillsborough and it is hands-down the most fun I’ve ever had in a spin class. That’s saying a lot because I’ve been taking a spin class for 15 years! The music was great and her energy was fantastic. I will definitely be motivated to come back and do this class again and again!

No answer to phone, no voicemail, won’t even respond to emails. I had to contact a Crunch gym at another location to get the help I needed. Otherwise, a decent gym if you don’t plan on cancelling!

I attend this gym 5-7 days a week. The people who work here for the most part are to themselves unless they are interested in meeting you to set up a Crunch Kick-off, which is pretty much a personal trainer trying to make a sale while helping you reach your fitness goal. Everyone I've come across while here has been very respectful, nice, courteous, and patient. Being that this location is massive, and in the heart of Tampa, it is busy almost all the time! Definitely plan your workouts and be there as early as possible to reach all of your goals. The biggest reason why I do love this gym is that I have never felt uncomfortable, judged, or mistreated by any attendees or staff. I can also confidently say that every time I go, I see a staff member making rounds to sanitize the areas and machines with some attendees also doing their part. The machines are always in working conditions, and I have dropped 10 pounds and 3% Body Fat since I started and met with a trainer! It's affordable considering all of the tools you are offered. I only paid $1 to get started as they were running a special, and constantly are running insane membership deals! This is absolutely worth it, and I am so happy I started my journey with a crunch fitness!

This place is ghetto and a scam. I had a $35 membership I wanted to drop to the regular $10. They will only let you drop to 15 a month and pay a $20 fee to drop down. The only way to get a $10 a month plan as advertised is to buy out your contract pay the fee and the pay up front for the year! I’m not sure what kind of sleazy business this is but nothing was relayed to me. I was told I would drop down at anytime. Poor business management and honestly gym is disgusting and hardly kept up which is why I wanted to quit. Only reason I even wanted to keep the $10 membership was for sauna!

Hands down the best Gym in Tampa Fl, i love the staff, love the energy, great vibes to train and enjoy your workout. They have everything you need from free weights to machines, for all kind of people looking to take their fitness situation and health to the next level. Restrooms always clean shot out to the maintenance services staff.

Stay far away from this company. Spending a little extra elsewhere is a small price to pay compared to dealing with a gym managed by individuals lacking integrity. During my stay in Tampa for work, I initially frequented PowerHouse Gym for two months, an experience marked by ample equipment and minimal wait times. Later, I opted for Crunch Fitness in Brandon due to their competitive prices and welcoming staff. However, circumstances led me to relocate to the Hillsborough branch. In July, I duly notified them of my need to cancel my membership upon leaving the state. Despite adhering to their procedures, they continued charging my card for five months post-membership. Upon reaching out, the initial receptionist expressed apologies but redirected me to the Brandon branch. There, Aaron promptly assisted me in initiating a refund request with the corporate office. However, after three weeks with no resolution, I followed up, only to be informed by John, the General Manager, that my request was denied due to purported lack of evidence of my departure. Despite providing my flight ticket as proof, they obstinately refused to refund my money. Encountering such dishonesty was truly disheartening. Though I attempted to contact the Hillsborough general manager to rectify his team's mistake, it proved futile. The corporate office seemed equally inaccessible, requiring correspondence via postal mail—an outdated approach in today's digital age. The absence of email communication is baffling; perhaps they'll soon catch up with the times and acknowledge the existence of fax machines. In the meantime, I strongly advise others to avoid Crunch, particularly the Hillsborough branch.

Great gym by far one of the best gyms in the tampa area. The manager, Uche, does a great job, and the staff is so welcoming. Forgot my key tag one day, and Uche informed me of an app they have to help keep up with checking in. They did a great job explaining to me about the cancelation policy 30-day notice. Overall, it was a great experience I highly recommend

😠 I have been a member at this gym for over 1 year. I am not sure what has changed in management in the past few months, but the gym is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY now (has been getting worse over the past ~6months (during a pandemic no less). If there are WADS OF HAIR and GRIME under EVERY SINGLE machine, I c...
