An unexpected Jewel in the Crown at Minnis Bay. Only a short drive from Herne Bay and to be met with unrivalled views across the North East Kent sea. The service was perfect and the food was excellent value. This is most definitely one of Shepherd & Neame's more successful pub restaurants where they have got it right! Well done Shepherd & Neame. This place serves up some lovely tasty meals they really do..with lovely views over the beach. Recommend the Hake for fish lovers. Price wise very reasonable only one small quibble the service was a little slow.. but having said that they were busy! Definitely going again!

Great restaurant... Found a lovely beer I'm gonna drink again. Food was excellent. I was part of a running team that had lunch after a tough race and the service we received was brilliant 😊😊😊

My mum lives close by so we visit The Minnis quite a few times a year. On our last visit things were not entirely up to scratch but still nice. I see that the menu has had a refresh since, lots of things have been taken off the menu and the staple options have been left on. We had a great reserved table with a lovely view, and we ordered our drinks and food. The drinks arrived very quickly, the food took a while to arrive probably longer than usual but when the food arrived, we could see why it had taken a little longer to arrive as the presentation was great, the food was cooked freshly, the portion sizes were very generous especially as the fish I'd ordered filled up the whole plate! ;). I think the food which we had yesterday was probably the best yet that we'd had over the years. Smaller menu choice but cooked to perfection. My mum had the pork which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the haddock and chips which was fab. (my only criticism if I had one was the peas were in a tiny egg cup sized container & I would've liked more peas). The chips being served now are a vast improvement on what used to be served (large dryish oven chips previously). Now they are smaller with flavour. We spoke to the really friendly waitress to ask her to pass on our thanks to the chef/kitchen for a lovely meal and she was really grateful for the feedback and did pass it on.

Awful food. Worst pizza I’ve had in ages. Was burned yet slightly cold, 100% heated from frozen. £10.95 too for a Margarita, they’re having a laugh. “Sourdough Pizza” claimed on the menu, we were just left feeling sour. The staff had no idea what was going on. They were friendly at least, that’s the 1 star, but it took 5 of them standing next to our pizzas on the heater for 10 mins before one of them decided to bring it out to us. Dominos is cheaper (for once) and it’s just down the road. Go there.

Incredible food! The photos can't do it justice, but the taste was amazing. Loads of vegan options - the vegan duck is really tasty, as was the bread and dips. The staff were really friendly despite being very busy, and the iced coffees were perfect on a hot day. The position with the sea view was just gorgeous, and the bathrooms were Very clean. The best thing about Birchigton

Good food, great prices and 180 degree of sea and sky view. Wonderful place to view the sunset. Lamb stew too salty. Fish and chips very good. Chicken main dish is good. Lobster bisque starter with seaweed butter and nice bread great. Good service too.

Booked in advance for a Sunday lunchtime and requested a table outside. There were a few spots of rain late morning, and when we arrived they had kept a table both inside and outside for us. Service was very good and the food was yummy. Simple but well executed menu, and a great spot right by the water. Book in advance to avoid disappointment (some people were turned away for food when we were there - a Sunday lunchtime - because they didn’t have a booking). I’d definitely go back again if in the area!

Loved the Duck salad just what you need after eating too much festive food. Nice view of the bay.

I, along with my parents, Had the pleasure today of dining at the Minnis, it was last minute and we were welcomed to come and ask for Dee when we arrived. Every member of staff we're outstanding. All polite, funny and polished. The food was outstanding. Attention to detail and care was outstanding. And I must say, to have my table wiped own between courses is very seldom seen, but gratefully received. I fully recommend this wonderful little gem. I will be visiting again very soon THANK YOU X

It's an amazing place to chill out after cyckling on the Viking trail. Great food and the most stunning view! The bonus is an indoor soft play area for kids if the weather spoils the mood!

Cant wait to go back! The staff are lovely, the food was good, the venue is beautiful. Great place to visit any time but when the suns out and you sit on the terrace upstairs you feel like you are on holiday without getting on a plane 😎👍went again last Friday and had the breakfast, all good!😜👍🏻

Stunning place, beautiful setting, incredibly clean pub on the sea front, lovely staff and probably one of the best meals I've eaten in many years. Love it absolutely a must on the tick list if going to birchington.

Food was good quality and of adequate portion size. However, don’t expect your drinks to arrive quickly! When we visited (again) the bar/brasserie was quite quiet, but still the drinks service was very slow. If you’re a beer drinker the selection is poor, especially if you’re an ale drinker!

Visited Minnis Bay Bar en route to Margate, My partner and I both veggies, we ordered the Pea 🫛 Ravioli, it was tastless, uninviting and cold, was like the sauce had come out of a can, ravioli straight out of a packet, bish bosh !! The staff were really nice, the manager knocked 25 % off our bill. Note the pea ravioli was £14 .... I know 🤣🤣

The food was beautiful and well presented! Lovely atmosphere, cosy and calm with excellent service! Only thing I could ask for is more veggie options as they seem limited for the dinner menu. 100% will be back again

After a lovely sun'bathe on the beach, my daughter and I shared a selection of starters for a light lunch and sat outside. Food could not be faulted and service was professional frow sky and prompt.

Great location for a meal at sun down. Fish and chip dinner was perfectly cooked and presented. Some confusion on ordering at the bar but we did not have a booking and was still accomodated.

😠 I only visit Margate twice a year for days out. I have gone into the Mechanical Elephant on each visit to order breakfast. When I visited last year, the food was virtually cold & I had to return it. I thought that a year on, it could not be that bad again. I visited about 8:30am & there were only tw...
