Nice restaurant, lovely outside tables. We didn’t have to book in advance even though it was on sunny Sunday. Very nice staff, food came quick however my rice was a bit crunchy, could be cooked for another minute or two.

Yummy food and great customer service especially the ginger women who was serving us was so nice bubbly and energetic, it was refreshing to see! I highly recommend the breadsticks and fried chickpea dip, such yummy crunchy chickpeas! 😍

Feb24- lunchtime visit (12pm onwards) and staff very friendly and atmosphere trendy and comfortable. Very full for a midweek lunch. We preferred starters than mains for lunch. Mushrooms, prawns, chicken were fab only the salt and pepper squid was lackluster. Not too expensive.

Gastropub with nice food, but tricky to find things without gluten. Helpful staff at the pub near the m25. Good atmosphere inside and outdoors. Good parking options.

Very nice place, great atmosphere and service!! The food was spot on, my steak was delicious and worth its price, although it's not the cheapest place, we've spent around 60 per head including drinks! It was worth it, I will be coming back! 👍🏻👏🏻

This is an absolutely fantastic pub for Sunday dinner. The meal was very well prepared and the staff were friendly and answered all of our food allergy questions. I had a traditional Sunday roast which included all the relevant trimmings. The draft beer was also excellent. I would most certainly come back again. This restaurant accepts tips when paying by card.

I think they’ve just done such a great job in the last few years to improve and make this a wonderful gastropub. The food really is excellent, Karol the head chef is a total gem, and every time I eat here (with a few beers of course), it’s always quality dishes prepared with care and joy. That matters, a lot. The service is also just great, always. Well done guys!

Lunched at The Gate yesterday. Everything was first class. Almost cancelled due to weather but so glad we did not. Brightened up a miserable day. Generous portion of chicken was superb as was the duck salad. Followed by cheese and biscuits. Service efficient and friendly. Will certainly go back.

The Sunday Roast arrived and was only warm at best. Both meals were returned to the kitchen without fuss. The replacement meals were served on hot plates so was much better. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the staff worked hard. The only other complaint was the price of drinks. My wife had a white wine spritzer and was charged £1.85 for the dash of lemonade making the drink over £9

This is a lovely little pub, with a great atmosphere, fantastic attentive staff that go the extra mile especially David and Izzy. It was our 5th anniversary and they both made it that little more special. The menu as a brilliant and tasty variety and the food itself is of very high quality and quantity is perfect. Would highly recommend without question. It as a lovely outdoor area where you also have the opportunity to eat outside. Thank you for the great service. Mr and Mrs Wallington Ps. A good pub. Really good service at the bar & the table, the staff where attentive A good selection of beers. We had the Christmas menu & there was something for all. I will come back when the holidays are over

An absolutely fantastic place. The staff are amazing. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is perfection. No loud crowds. Just a pleasant dining experience with friendly staff (Kavi and Charlotte) and great food. The kitchen staff is be very proud. Will be back....often. Christmas Eve and no room at the Inn? Not in our experience! Realising, last minute, I'd made a booking for 4 instead of 5, we thought we wouldn't be able to enjoy our family tradition of a Christmas Eve meal out - The Gate was fully booked. But manager Chloe patiently managed to find some flexibility on the system for us. Looked after by Zoe, we had a great time. Would recommend the celeriac steak.

My friends and I went for Lunch to celebrate a birthday and we couldn’t have been more pleased. We were welcomed and the service was great. The food was superb and the staff were most helpful and even took our photos for us. We shall be returning soon.

Food was lovely and tasty. The service not so much. We had to wait 1 hour for a starter. The atmosphere was vibrant and overall the place felt very welcoming and warm. I wouldn’t bring kids here but it would be good for a roast dinner or a night out.

Met with some friends and had dinner on Saturday evening. Food was good and the young staff were very attentive. It was a full house and a big table near to us had young children, so they were quite loud at times, but it did not spoil our evening. Would recommend to friends and family.

The dirty burger was so good! Probably the best burger i've ever had. The portions at some places are really stingy for the price, but in this case, there were plenty of chips which was great! Lovely waiter too, who was extremely attentive and helpful. Thanks for a great dining experience, will definitely be back!

Went on a Thursday evening and it was surprisingly busy, glad we booked. However we did have to wait nearly 40 minutes for our food, which was nice but overpriced for what it was and portion sizes were on the small side. Cheesecake desert was the highlight of the meal though. Our waitress was really lovely and as attentive as possible, just unfortunately they appeared too busy for the amount of staff they had in. We used a voucher from the website for a free starter/desert which was good.

We did not have a booking so were seated in the bar, which was cosy and comfortable as I was with children. We were not offered colouring sheets/crayons (did not realise this was an option until halfway through our meal when another family came in and we're offered this). Food came out in a reasonable timeframe and was delicious

Came here yesterday with my partner. Waitress service was amazing, lots of staff around and all very friendly. Very clean inside and a one way system in place which worked well. Unfortunately no prawns for my partners starter but was suggested the Chipotle Chicken which was lovely. We both had the dirty burger for mains which was delicious, loved the cheese sauce inside the burger. Menu was a little overpriced but we had a lovely date and would definitely be back again 😋

Nice pub and restaurant, lovely decor, nicely spaced tables so you don't feel over crowded. Great food served by friendly staff, nice, polite and well turned out. Only gripe is there not much to choose from on the menu for wheat and gulten free dietary needs. But staff very helpful in pointing out what was available.

This public house offers a restaurant, where you can enjoy your food while having a glass of wine or your favourite beverage. The staff provide excellent service. When I visited we spoke with Amy, and the young lady made us feel at home, very relaxing. The gate is lovely place to spend time with family members also offering a rear garden/playing area for the children. Excellent food with a good choice on the menu. Be prepared you only get what you pay for, if you can stretch your budget, then give this place a try. We'll worth it.

We were served by Scarlett who was very polite, spoke clearly and provided us with a very good caring service. The menu was comprehensive and the food reasonably priced. The was a good selection of ales that were well kept. There was minimum background noise.

Great Gastropub! I had dinner there on Saturday (7May2022) with my family. My 1st time back since the pandemic. Delighted to see that the standard of the meals have not deteriorated. I had the salmon that was simply wonderful. Overall their menu choice is limited but what they do they do well!

Superb Sunday roast! Service quick, friendly and professional. Big thumbs up 👍 Liam served us and every other member of staff we came into contact with were equally great!
