So, this hotel was our “go to” place when visiting family. Things have drastically gone down hill from 2 years ago when we stayed here…. Where do I start… when we got our room, went up, and the room was just open and TV on like someone was already there. I made sure it was the right room, tried to close the door but the alignment was off and the door would not close. Went to the front desk and they were very helpful, had to lift the door to close it. Maintenance fixed it the next day… Then, inspected the room and there were no towels, except for the dirty towel hanging on the door in the bathroom. The room appeared dirty when we got it.. A few nights later, the phone in our room would randomly go to speaker phone and dial tone waking everyone up. I unplugged it. Then, there was a fire alarm issue then the power went out for a little bit in the middle of the night. The pool was also closed and the complimentary breakfast is purchased from Walmart and nearby gas stations. * other things… the elevators inspection certificate is not available in the elevator, says to “see maintenance room” for certs.. didn’t think much of it but after experiencing this place for 12 days, thought it was odd. (Kansas law says you must have it displayed?) either way didn’t have my trust. *security/safety… the card reader to the hotels side doors were ripped off or something, so anyone could access the hotel without staff’s knowledge. Also, parking lot was riddled with broken glass. Will not return, sadly.. do not recommend unless something changes. We actually left a day early in disgust.

Regular Hyatt frequenter here...I picked this hotel because of the comfort and ease of knowing this hotel chain. We were on a long road trip and were wanting something reliable and comfortable and with good, hot breakfast in the morning before we hit the road again. Big mistake. They are undergoing renovations so the place is a mess, the pool isn't open, there was no hot breakfast offered (and no one cared to mention it at check in). We reserved a king bed and when we arrived, we were flatly told that bed selection is first come, first served and apparently has little to nothing to do with what you actually reserved. Would not recommend.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. From the moment I stepped into the hallway, I was hit with a horrible smell that made my stay uncomfortable. The elevator was in a dirty state, and the loud noise and blaring music from ongoing construction work added to the overall discomfort. Upon entering my room, I was greeted by darkness despite having all the lights on. The rooms were far from the welcoming atmosphere that I expected. The lobby was unbelievably hot, making it an unpleasant place to spend time. The exterior of the hotel resembled a prison, a far cry from the images I saw on the Hyatt website. To add to the disappointment, the pool was out of order during my stay, and the overall feeling of being in a construction site persisted. To top it all off, there was no hot breakfast available due to the ongoing construction. All in all, this hotel failed to deliver on its promises and left me with an extremely unsatisfactory experience. I would strongly advise against staying here until these issues are properly addressed. Stay away!

Meh. It was fine. Definitely not impressed… they are undergoing a remodel which is clearly very much needed. The lobby is nice but the rest of the hotel is very worn and outdated. One of two elevators was out of order, ice machine was not working, etc. no not breakfast but the grab & go options were decent. It smelled weird and dusty in our room which made it hard to sleep. at least the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It’s definitely overpriced for what it is. A Hyatt in name only. The only thing Hyatt about this place was the bed. I wish I had chosen a different cheaper hotel.

Considering they are under construction for renovations, but they tell you that up front..... everything was great! Yes, things weren't flawless as is the Hyatt standard, but we got a clean, quiet room.... comfortable bed, and slept wonderfully - at a discounted price! No complaints here! Oh, and our check in person and check out person were wonderful, polite, and helpful!

We have stayed here annually for about 6 years when coming into town for an event. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed with our room. The overall maintenance had clearly been neglected as many things in the room were broken or falling apart. The housekeeping also seemed to be lacking a little. The staff is always kind and helpful, and we were happy to see the breakfast back to a little more "normal" since all the restrictions. I hope that this was a one time situation, as we've always had clean and functioning room until this point.

I've read previous reviews and most of the issues listed weren't apparent during our stay. The room was clean and spacious. Despite some online listings, there is no hot food, apart from breakfast, available. There's a limited bar, but very convenient. The main issue we had was the gentleman working the desk the night of December 12th, 2022. He did not want to be there, and made that apparent. When serving drinks, he rinsed out glasses then filled them with the requested liquor while glass was still dripping wet. He maintained a near constant conversation with whom I can assume was family, based on the content of his discussions. Additionally, he seemed preoccupied with sports betting, but did refocus his attention when addressed. Moody, but not to the point of blatantly rudeness, I just think a more courteous approach would be preferred. On the other hand, his female coworker was as nice as could be, and recommended Jason's Deli when we found out meals weren't available on site. Great recommendation, really saved the evening. I would still stay here again, as even the morning staff were super friendly and the breakfast was great.

We have stayed at this particular Hyatt Place Hotel 5 times over the past few years as it is a mid-point for a drive we take regularly. The first few times, we found everything top notch - clean, safe, friendly, and with good amenities and services - a nice respite from the road. This time, not so much… The staff was still friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good (though the water for hot tea was cold), and we still found the room to be clean, but… The security is poor - the side doors were not locked at all and at least one vehicle in the parking lot had been broken into and looted by morning (other reviews re: glass in the parking lot indicates this is not an unusual event). The parking lot needs better lighting at least and at best, security cameras. The evening hot food options that we had enjoyed on past visits is no longer available. But the worst part of our visit would have to be the lack of hot water. The morning shower was ice cold until we stood at the sink and ran the sink water until it got warm and only then were we able to have a lukewarm shower - the water never got hot. We were told that this location is gearing up for a renovation, beginning with the upper floors in Feb 2023 and working their way down. I suppose that could be the cause of some of our concerns, but I think we will be staying elsewhere on future visits to the area, at least until their renovations are complete.

During my recent stay at the Hyatt Place, I had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff at the hotel were quite cordial and accommodating, which always makes a stay more pleasant. However, there was one unsettling aspect – the hotel basin had a red stain, which was a bit creepy and made me question the cleanliness standards. One thing that surprised me was the absence of a microwave oven in the room. Even lower-tier hotels typically provide this amenity, so it was an unexpected inconvenience. On the upside, the rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable, which provided a good overall impression. In terms of the facilities, I found that the restroom didn't quite match the spaciousness of the room. It felt a bit cramped in comparison, which could be improved for a more comfortable stay. One highlight of the stay was the breakfast options. They served a variety of warm breakfast items, such as sausage, eggs, and French toast, which were delicious and a great way to start the day. Additionally, the availability of different fruit options was a nice touch.

We had an awesome stay at the Hyatt. The room was excellent and scrupulously clean with a wonderful layout! We were very satisfied with the complimentary breakfast as it met all our needs. The hotel staff was accommodating and exemplary from the minute we made our reservations to well after we left! We had left behind a very important medicine in the refrigerator and they literally bent over backwards to get it to Federal Express and Next Day Air it to our next destination. We wanted to specifically mention Carrie, the person who handled getting our package shipped and her diligence in making sure it was packed correctly as well as following up with a tracking number so we could be confident it was on the way. Carrie was genuinely kind and enthusiastic in working with us to make sure all went well. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful location and we enjoyed our time there immensely.

The hotel's location was truly beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience.

This hotel is having renovations done. I'm not sure my room was done. The table (room 514) is not suitable for holding anything more than it is. The coffee maker couldn't reach any plugs except on the bathroom counter which was awkward. When we went to check out , the employee ignored us to fill her coffee cup. The employees in the evening were much more friendly and engaging. Bed, bathroom, and linens were clean. Breakfast was perfectly fine. Staff was mocking a guy who thought he might have to pay for coffee and a lady who couldn't find hot cocoa. I probably won't stay again.

This is a nice place to stay normally. (As of Nov 19 of 2023 they are doing a remodel so it's a mess). The entrance looks like a war zone and the parking lot is a hazard. The pool is under construction too. As for the room, it would be nice if the tv tilted to the side so you could watch it from the bed. There is paint missing on the walls. We had no place to hang our clothes in the room because the clothes rod was missing. They have no hand soap so they gave us shower gel. There is no housekeeping unless you ask for it. The bed is set too close to heating/cooling machine on the window side. Otherwise the hotel is as nice as usual. They have good breakfast. The staff are friendly. They brought us a microwave to the room as requested. The bed was comfortable. It would be nice to have more variety of types of pillows. The door to the gym doesn't close properly (settling?). Anyway, we'll likely stay there again. Hopefully it will be remodeled by then.

Worse stay of my 65 years and with 41 years of Federal Service, I’ve stayed in more than 300 hotels. When you first arrive, the front of the hotel looks like it was hit by a tornado that ripped the roof off. You then have to drive through a maze of massive pot holes surrounded by orange cones. Once you make it to the parking lot, it’s full of 4-30 yard roll off dumpsters, and 5 or 6 Shiiping Containers. The room was nice and once inside, it was flooded with the echo of a jack hammer until 6pm. Ready for a good night sleep, my wife and I had to keep adjusting the heater. While set to 67, it kicked on every 20 minutes heating the room to what felt like 80. We finally found a setting at 63 that didn’t toast us. Finally in bed, we were awaken at 10:24pm, 2:24am, and 5:25am to the sound of the horn from the passing freight train. This will be a hotel we avoid next year when we pass through Topeka again. If you’re going to tear up the hotel and create a loud environment, close the hotel. Definitely not worth $172 for a night.

Location is in need of some upkeep, grass was overgrown when first arriving. Building looks on the older side, side doors broken, etc. Most of the issues seem to be on management. Overall not up to Hyatt standards.

Very outdated hotel. We stopped in due to a cross country trip. Stayed at a Hyatt in colorado for roughly the same price and the one in Colorado surpassed this location by light years. There’s also several vehicle break ins that happen at the hotel and confirmed with a local police officer at the gas station. The room we stay in was large but tons of wasted space. Could have easily fitted queen beds. The ac unit rattled loudly all night making sleep harder to achieve. We arrived at almost midnight and did not want to hassle trying to switch rooms that’s late. Only reason for more than 1 star is the gentleman working the desk at midnight when we stated deserves a raise. He was super friendly. I sent my family to bed and had a conversation with him. He stated that he patrols the lot and even watches the lot for everyone. He said he’s caught several suspicious persons in the lot and they run. This location needs to do two things. 1 give that man a raise of promotion and 2 UPDATE the rooms.

Our experience was terrible. At 645 pm there was drilling above our room. The desk clerk said he was ‘not trained’ to prepare hot food so only option available was an old cookie or brownie. The pool was not operational. The outside of the hotel is muddy, uncared for landscape, and very minimal lighting. Breakfast was cold, no cream cheese, no spoons, and no one seemed to care as the workers were drinking coffee and on their phones. I’m never staying at any Hyatt again due to this.

This place gets 0 stars from me. Both my fiancé and I cars got broken into there’s not 1 security camera on the outside of this hotel! That makes no sense to be such a high-end hotel and no security for you guests. They did nothing to help. Also before we reported our vehicle break-ins there was 2 other vehicles before us that got broken into in the same period of time. Lady at the front desk says this is a re-occurring issue.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are large and clean. We stayed for a soccer tournament and they were able to accommodate a large group of people

Our family has stayed at this Hyatt in Topeka twice now. It’s at the end of the main drag but literally a few minutes from all the action. It has quick access to I-70 and only five minutes to the Topeka Zoo. The complimentary breakfast is really nice with a lot of choice. I would recommend stopping in before you head out in the morning. It has an outdoor pool which is now closed for the winter, so if you like to have a swim you might want to consider a different hotel. What we like about this hotel the most is the size of the rooms. They are enormous in size and it gives the family room to stretch out. I will most likely stay here again in the future.

Whatever issues this hotel may have had in the past have been fully corrected. Our room and the common areas are very clean and very attractive. Very comfy bed, spacious room, well laid out room amenities, friendly staff and great breakfast bar. The pictures on Google are accurate. Great place for pet owners: nice park right next door. Would come back for sure. Considering the price this is definitely a five star location.

We just moved the middle of the day from the days in to the Hyatt wow it is like night and day we left a bug infested wall pilling trash hole place and went to a super nice place. The breakfast that they Had it days in was a banana and a rapped little muffin. They didn't have cereal or anything else you go to breakfast at the Hyatt you get eggs you get cereal you get waffles and it is just unbelievably nice. The people working there were very courteous wow I really appreciate it staying here.

Rooms a little dated. A little short of AC outlets near the desk. Had AC next to bed to charge phones. Compact florescent bulbs took a while to warm up. Standard Hyatt Place layout. No streaming on TV but standard cable channels. Kind of limited breakfast selections but still fine quality. Staff excellent and very helpful. No dinner selections at the hotel guess only because of covid. However, lots of restaurant selections near the hotel. Plenty of parking.

Not the most up to date Hyatt but was accommodating for my short stay. The room was clean, the air conditioner was bit noisy but kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The staff is very nice and helpful. It looked like there was only one staff member manning the checkin desk and bar though. The fitness center is small with one bike, elliptical, and two treadmills. They did have a row of weights and a bench along with some yoga mats and water dispenser. The pool is still currently closed as well as their 24/7 food service. Picking up food or ordering delivery prior to arriving to the hotel would be best. Despite checking out before 0630, the breakfast was set up around 0615 which was nice to get a hot tea before my departure. Checkout was easy.
