If
this
is
your
kind
of
thing,
you'll
love
it.
A
little
while
ago
I
found
myself
on
a
stressful,
unplanned,
cross-country
road
trip
under
less
than
ideal
circumstances.
When
we
realized
we
would
have
to
stay
the
night
in
Topeka
we
ended
up
picking
the
Ramada
because
it
was
one
of
the
more
affordable
options
with
rooms
available
that
night,
and
I'm
so
glad
we
did.
The
employees
we
interacted
with
were
fantastic.
When
we
arrived
after
a
long
day
of
driving,
the
man
at
the
front
desk
was
kind
and
helpful,
even
offering
to
move
my
friend
and
I
into
conjoined
rooms
when
he
saw
that
we
were
traveling
together.
The
next
morning
we
went
down
at
the
end
of
breakfast
(pretty
standard
hotel
fare)
and
the
employees
we
met
were,
again,
nice
and
helpful.
I
won't
lie,
it's
old
and
outdated.
Past
the
lobby
is
a
massive
and
bewildering
room
with
empty
building
facades,
balconies,
drained
pools,
and
a
little
arcade.
It
feels
somewhat
like
an
abandoned
theme
park.
It
was
strange
and
delightful
to
walk
into
at
night,
but
the
next
morning
we
had
fun
doing
a
little
exploring
and
trying
out
the
games
in
the
arcade
room.
The
whole
place
does
smell
a
little
old
and
musty,
in
the
way
old
buildings
tend
to.
It
wasn't
too
purturbing
to
my
friends
and
I,
but
it
is
something
to
note
if
you're
sensitive.
Our
rooms
themselves
were
great.
Despite
it
being
clear
that
they
hadn't
been
remodeled
since
the
1980s
they
were
clean
and
seemed
pretty
well
maintained.
They
even
had
a
couple
delightful
and
confusing
details
that
we
thought
were
so
fun.
There
were
TVs
in
both
rooms
and
we
managed
to
hook
a
computer
up
to
one
and
stream
a
movie.
Overall
it
was
a
quirky
and
charming
experience
that
you
just
can't
get
at
most
chain
hotels.
I
had
a
lot
of
fun
staying
here
and
it
ended
up
being
a
bright
spot
in
a
generally
stressful
and
unpleasant
experience.
My
friends
and
I
still
talk
about
it
fondly,
even
months
later.
