I was excited to see Vital Life Vegan at this past weekend's Veg Fest in TO. There had a long line as expected as I heard the food was excellent. The Caribbean-inspired vegan dishes are prepared with love and care and they use fresh and wholesome ingredients. The vegan soy protein and mac and cheese were delicious, well seasoned and full of flavor. The pumpkin and plantain were sweet and satisfying with generous portions. The staff are very friendly and are happy to explain the dishes and may let you try something if you ask nicely. Definitely try a homemade drink with your meal like the Hibiscus ginger drink. I highly recommend Vital Life Vegan to anyone looking for a satisfying, tasty and healthy vegan meal as the chef is very talented and creative. You will not be disappointed.

Outstanding food that is both healthy and delicious (you rarely get both nowadays). The staff is super friendly every time i walk in (which has been at least 10-15 times) and they are informative as to what they are serving. For the price you are paying, you really can't go wrong. On Wednesdays they serve a shrimp stew that is to die for, and on Fridays they make a mac and cheese pie which is also awesome. Go support these local businesses, they are what it is all about!

2023 VegTO fest - Among the 200 vendors this year, there were also those that allowed you to test, sample, and formulate questions. It takes special people not only to handle all the questions from the masses but also to be at their best and respond with kindness and respect ("one love"). So, when the end of the fest came, all of a sudden, at 6 pm and nobody was interested in looking after us, there was "Vital-Life Vegan Restaurant" to serve and protect. I asked a busy gentleman, trying to close shop, if I could buy some leftovers, while I looked at the nicely spiced chickpeas and rice. I was then provided with a designers cardboard plate, 2 disposable forks, and a bunch of serviettes. Of course, the delicious looking chickpeas and the rice followed. The chickpeas rolled gently and were accommodated on one side, then the rice on the other. At that moment, I was a happy man. "😊" Not only did I get a second fork for my wife and serviettes without asking. I was served with dignity and respect. When I asked how much I owed, here came true love. The store was closing, and it was complimentary. I was not asked to come to the store or to put in a good word. This plate was made on Earth but served from heaven onto Earth. This was nearly a religious experience for me. They still happen, and there is proof right here. I remain a happy and healthy person because of these unique individuals who take more pride in bringing joy onto others than to reward themselves. They work hard and efficiently, they work as a team, without getting on each other's ways, and all this to make this a better world. There is always retribution, and this is where we come. Please do try the awesome food of "Vital-Life Vegan Rstaurant." It is a super healthy choice, and you will love their vegan food prepared with love. You can count on that 💞 🙏... Thank you to the gentleman who looked after us, two cyclists in fluorescent green jackets. A virtual hug 🤗 goes to you, and may your health always be at its best, and your business flourish even further. We will see you in the future 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️

Started loving their food at the sorauren farmer’s market, so excited they have a storefront. Delicious, flavourful, and leaves you feeling good.

I've been eating Vita Life's vegan food on weekends when they'd have a pop-up stall at my local farmer's market, so I was very excited to hear that they had secured a permanent spot in Chinatown East. It's a small space with seating for maybe 12 people and you'll miss it if you blink , but that would be your loss! The food is ital - vegan Jamaican cooking prepared in keeping with the principles of the Rastafarian religion. Toronto is blessed with having a few ital spots in other neighbourhoods, but this one is a first for the east end (if you're not counting Ital Vital in Scarborough). Probably due to the location, the food is a little more expensive than what you'd see at other ital joints, but the quality of the food is better than anything else out there! You can literally taste Vita Life's commitment to serving fresh, local, organic food with every bite. I've eaten my way through 80% of their menu by now and there's nothing I would not heartily recommend. It's also one of the only place to get jerk vegan food, so worth a visit for that reason alone.

I love going to this location because of the generous heart of the owner! The food tastes better because is prepared with love and passion. It is always a such treat to eat here because of the meaningful conversations with the owner when he is not in the kitchen. I like the ingredients display and the kitchen's open concept; feels like home.

The food? Amazing! I got the large plate and it comes with some of everything available on the hot table. I cannot say anything bad about a single item. They were all so delicious I want to go again tomorrow. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the dine in experience. Something needs to be done about the seating arrangement. The table are in poor condition and because it is a small space it is quite cramped. I will definitely return to Vital Life to enjoy other varieties of the daily menu.

I had the chickpea bowl, substituted the rice and peas for 1/2 quinoa and 1/2 pumpkin for an up charge. All I can say is THANK YOU!! So good.

Got the chick pea curry bowl. The salad lettuce very shredded like chipotle topping but was fresh. Rice and peas was slightly dry. Chick pea curry is alright and the plantain is good. Would probably try another dish.

Excellent flavourful food! BBQ soy was delicious and portions were good. Hibiscus Ginger drink packed flavour. The only thing I was disappointed about was I think plantain was forgotten in my combo and I was craving it. Overall good.

Food was soooo yummy!! We got the okra, chickpea curry, and jerk bowl. Staff was friendly, service was fast and most importantly the food was amazing. Great flavour and spice level was perfect. Portions were just the right size. All organic and vegan food. I’ll definitely be returning again!!

This is a blink and you’ll miss it place but once you go in its small and subtle but man does the food deliver! Vegan spot that puts time and care into making the food! The gentleman there was sweet and kind. Incredible chick pea roti and bbq cauliflower are perfect. And the portions are very decent—not too much not too little. Highly recommend.

This place is intensely yummy. I was hesitant cause the shop seemed small and quiet but I couldn’t be happier coming. Been twice since and the food is always ultra tasty, hot and fresh. Highly recommend the bbq soy bowl but everything on the menu is yum! Prices are very reasonable!

I stopped here on Wednesday before a concert, not only was the service fantastic - both the person at the cash who served me, gave me fantastic recommendations and the person working in the back who prepared my food and brought it out were friendly, answered my questions and made me feel extremely welcome. The portion was perfect for the price, I had a full and filling dinner with some leftovers for after the show. Cost was very reasonable and affordable. This is definitely my new go to choice when I come to the city.

This place has the best food and friendliest chef and staff. The chickpea roti is amazing. The bbq and jerk is so tasty. The Mac and cheese is so good! We usually get the bit of everything sampler which is a good place to start but you always end up wanting more of everything. So now we get a few things even though it's just two of us but then we have leftovers. You gotta try it!!!

Meal was absolutely delicious. The BBQ soy was my favourite. Okra and callaloo were also tasty. Rice and peas tied it all together. I’ll definitely be back!

The moment I first tasted the BBQ Soy, my life changed. I shared a large plate with my partner, which was more than enough food for two. Very nice, ate outside with reggae music from the store below playing in the background. The owners were extremely pleasant and polite. Will go again!
