This overpriced hotel is a 3 star at best. It's local and its views could not be bettered but there is much to be desired here. Unfortunately, roadworks and reconfiguring made it difficult to find with a SatNav (not the hotel's fault but worth noting). The hotel boasts parking but fails to mention on the website it charges €15/day. The underground garage has no lift access to main floor (due to being underground and near the river a receptionist told me?). This can be a struggle with bags and cases. Reception is a tiled surface in the hotel's café with rather indifferent staff working from.a laptop. Our booking showed we had a courtyard view, which turned out to be a tarmacked lot belonging, it appeared, to the next block. Certainly not what the word 'courtyard' conjures up so I feel this was rather a disingenuous description. Our very small bathroom had little space to put toiletries and the 'over-the-bath' shower was treacherous to use for the older traveller. No handrail...

The hotel is clean and has a convenient location. From the rooms you can see beautiful scenery and especially the ancient citadel and the beautiful sunrise.

Our stay was truly memorable, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional always ready to help with a smile, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was another highlight: delicious, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. Every meal felt like a treat, and we especially enjoyed dining on the terrace. Speaking of the terrace what a view! The panoramic scenery is simply breathtaking. From the moment you step outside, you’re greeted with a stunning, uninterrupted view of the castle. Whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee, having dinner, or just relaxing with a glass of wine at sunset, the setting is picture-perfect. The location itself is ideal peaceful, scenic, and within walking distance to several key spots, making it easy to explore while still feeling tucked away from the crowds.
