One
of
the
few
properties
where
the
pictures
don't
do
it
justice
-
this
is
a
beautifully
decorated
and
designed
hotel.
The
mossy
and
worn,
yet,
detailed
rock
sculptures
that
are
in
abundance
(including
in
the
room
areas)
make
one
feel
surrounded
by
the
history
of
the
land
(though
I
confess
I
am
just
barely
a
layman
on
the
subject).
The
greenery
that
abounds
and
(I
presume)
is
carefully
tended
to
only
accentuates
the
feeling
of
being
immersed
in
the
local
landscape
that
one
associates
with
the
tropics.
The
ambience
is
easy
to
settle
into
and
wallow
in.
The
pools
are
nice
and
clean.
The
villa
pools
are
also
well
maintained,
though
the
showers
next
to
them
may
not
work
all
that
well.
The
rooms
are
glorious.
Large
and
luxurious,
we
actually
had
three
showers,
a
separate
WC
area
and
a
bathtub
'outside',
and
plenty
of
storage,
sitting
and
general
living
space.
There
was
actually
a
sitting
area
next
to
the
pool
in
the
form
of
beach
loungers
and
then
a
table
and
chair
set
to
have
breakfast
on
or
just
to
sit
at
and
listen
to
the
birds.
There's
also
a
work
table
inside
for
those
with
a
laptop/diary/what-have-you
and
matters
that
need
attending
on
it.
Lighting
is
very
'mood'
and
can
be
charming,
but
if
you
like
bright
lights,
you
might
be
a
little
annoyed.
You
are
also
likely
to
be
sharing
your
room
with
a
few
small
geckos/house
lizards
and
you'll
often
chance
upon
'evidence'
of
their
presence
in
little
spots.
Internet
access
is
a
little
sketchy.
The
property
gives
guests
a
fair
number
of
access
points
(so
wifi
signal
is
rarely
an
issue)
but
the
service
provider's
connection
was
down
half
the
time
we
were
there.
The
staff
are
always
polite
and
courteous
and
have
a
ready
smile
for
any
questions.
Oddity:
breakfast
isn't
a
buffet
-
it's
an
all-you-can-eat
a
la
carte
-
so
place
order
after
order,
it'll
be
prepared
and
served
for
you.
I
recommend
you
try
their
Nasi
Goreng,
it's
quite
good
and
they'll
make
a
half
portion
if
you
request
them
to.
You
can
order
a
'floating
breakfast'
in
the
morning,
which
is
a
nice
novelty.
Room
service
is
also
easily
available.
Access
to
Ubud
market
is
a
1.7km
walk
though
what
can
fast
become
a
slightly
dark
alley
in
the
evenings
-
but
is
easy
to
use
in
daylight.
That
said,
the
hotel
offers
a
once-every-couple-of-hours
cab
service
till
about
ten
in
the
night
(last
pick
up
from
Ubud
market),
and
it's
a
great
convenience
-
but
sometimes
there's
too
many
people
and
too
little
space.
So,
well,
ymmv.
The
spa
is
okay,
the
massage
offerings
are
not
too
bad
-
but
not
that
great
either.
And
as
other
reviewers
have
mentioned,
it's
quite
expensive.
It's
cheaper
to
look
up
options
in
Ubud
market
and
go
by
reviews.
You'll
save
quite
a
bit
if
that's
important.
In
summary
though,
unless
the
few
issues
I
mentioned
are
deal-breakers
for
you,
I
absolutely
recommend
that
you
try
this
property
for
a
few
nights
if
you
happen
to
be
staying
in
Ubud.
