Really rundown and overcrowded hostel, 6 person room tiny and windowless and overrun with mosquitos with no way to air out, everything is vaguely dirty, particularly the bathrooms are abysmal, broken shower heads and really unclean. Terrace is ok but not what it looks like in pics. Really not great, avoid.

Great value for money. The building is a bit old and the bathrooms are not the nicest, but except for that a cool and cozy hostal right in the middle of Valparaizo. We also did a pubcrawl with the hostal, which was great!

Very cool hostel, quite large with many places to hang out including a funky roof balcony. The rooms where big and the the beds were comfortable. Can't complain about my stay, would recommend a stay here.

The staff were super pleasant and accommodating. The location was perfect. The breakfast was decent, especially for Chilean standards. Unfortunately, this is less of a hotel and more of a hostel in terms of quality. We could hear everything going on in the common area and our neighbor rooms, upstairs, and noise from the street. The building is cute, but insulation is poor. The shower fixture kept falling apart, and water was slow to drain. Other reviewers have similar comments about noise and shower. The noise was the biggest negative factor for us. Maybe you can try a higher floor to avoid some of the noise. The views on TripAdvisor and Google Maps seem to be somewhat inflated. The people and service were awesome, it's just the building itself that has some pretty serious issues.

Very small common spaces and not very comfortable. Basically, bath tubs were converted into couches. The dining table is pretty small. Breakfast is very basic. Plus for night activities though. They have burrito or BBQ on some nights.

We adored hotel Maki! We arrived into Valparaiso around 10/11 am and so most hostels were not open. However, Maki was! They were able to give us a private room right away with a private en-suite bathroom. Really affordable and the staff is awesome. They also offer laundry at an affordable price.
