A great spot to quickly learn a bit of Canadian/Vancouver history and go visit an amazing CN train. It's the perfect exhibit for children or adults and you can choose how much you'd like to learn (if you do want to learn lots, speak to the volunteers). The building itself is also beautiful and well preserved with a neat history of its own. Located centrally in Vancouver with plenty of underground parking, this is also a great jumping off point to other downtown attractions.

Pretty nice place. We randomly found while walking by and spent there 25 minutes learning about trains and roadways. P.s. it's free of charge

Great experience, and totally free. The guide on staff was very friendly, and I learned a lot about the history of trains in the area and about the development of Vancouver over the years. Plus it's free! You get to sit in the locomotive and ring the bell.

A really interesting and insightful exhibition. Andy was great telling the story of the railway, with particular knowledge about the inner workings of the trains. Bill was a most excellent storyteller about the history and the context about which modern Vancouver was built. Thanks both for an excellent experience. Cheers, Lachlan and Cyrus the guys from Australia

Google didn't recommend this nor did any travel websites. I was just walking by and came across it. Fantastic and the tour guides was awesome. It's little so plan on like 30 minutes but it's free. Take a peek inside the rec center on other side of the building that shares the original roundhouse station walls.

Great place for trains enthusiasts or little ones + they let you ring the train's bell!!!! My kid loved it, ran around from one attraction to the other (the locomotive, train sets for kids, a moving train set, videos, etc.) and wouldn't stop smiling. The volunteers were fantastic: kind, patient, friendly and knowledgable. They gave everyone their space but were ready to jump into action when anyone had a question. Highly recommend!

Fun for a quick visit. Very well preserved locomotive and very friendly volunteers. Only a block away from a subway station with fun water taxis nearby.

Amazing. Both guides were really helpful and friendly and told me almost everything about the train including how it used to operate.

It is a great place to stop by for a few minutes with the kids. It is free; they can hop on the engine, look around.

This is an awesome place for the entire family with kids to spend a couple of hours. My son really enjoyed it. You can blew the whistle, take a look inside the locomotive - real world train experience for kids. For parents there some chairs and lots of up to date travel guides - so now I can brush up on things to visit in Vancouver area ;)
