The Seaforth Armoury is a Canadian Forces armoury located at 1650 Burrard Street in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is the home of The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, a Primary Reserve Infantry unit. The building was designed by the architectural firm of McCarter and Nairne, and is now listed as a Class A Heritage Building built in 1930. There is a Brigade 39LAV located out front

Huge place, high ceiling, well lit for indoor parade. No surprise, the place is an armoury. Many pictures and photographs on the wall will remind you where the Canadian Army has been active in the world. The occasion was dinner organized by CASIS in a banquet room catered by a company from Surrey. The food was formidable, complete with salads and dressings, and deserts. Perhaps there was more food to feed twice the number of guests invited. The Canadian Army bagpipe band impressed everybody with its distinct Highland Scottish sound within the colossal space. You can't help leaving feeling proud of the contribution by the Canadian Army to the betterment of the world.

A nationally historic Armoury that has been modernized to today's standards. Housing the Seaforth Highlanders and their regimental history the new and refurbished buildings provide excellent working space and storage facilities. Much of Vancouver's contribution to the Great and Second World Wars are tied to the Regiment and the Armoury. Adequate parking for military members in a secured compound, although lack of convenient transit is a valid complaint.

I had to stop and clear a clogged drain In front of this place. The whole right hand lane and bike lane was under 8inches of water. Safe travels my friends.

It is a functioning armoury still the base of the Seaforth Highlanders. It also serves as the local Reserve recruitment office. Been played fairly recently with Billboard displays showing the history of the Highlanders.

I went to the Goodbye party for former mayor G.Robertson and had a very good experience with that event. It is a historical landmark so worth a visit if you are curious about Vancouver history.

The Seaforth Armoury is a fortified drill hall for one of Canada's primary reserve units, the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. It is also a Canadian forces museum. Construction was completed in 1936 and is now considered a class A heritage building. The stags head sculpture was created by Charles Marega. Charles has many sculptures around Vancouver, including the President Harding Memorial, the Lions Gate Lions, Joe Forte Fountain, the topeless terracotta maidens on the Sun Tower building, Captain Vancouver, King Edward VII Memorial Fountain, David Oppenheimer bust and many private plaster works for some of the grand mansions. I was very fortunate to be attending a course at the armoury and was invited to watch the new Boss be recognized. Wonderful military traditions and a beautiful building

We had an excellent tour of the Seaforth's Highlanders Armoury. James was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. My grandfather joined abt 1914. James was able to show us his medals along with a picture of him. The officers' lounge gave you feeling of being in a Scottish castle. Very impressed. You must book ahead.

A historic military building that is still in use today. It is closed to the public except on special occasions.

I've been there many times for social events. It was completely rebuilt inside in a few years ago. It has a superb museum that I recommend for a visit so check their website for times available to the public. The staff working there are always friendly and helpful and this one of the best run Regiments in Canada. (after the 15th Field Regiment) It's a place I strongly recommend for young people wanting to develop their character, skills, future opportunities and gain lifelong friends.
