Rundown hotel is sketchy part of town. I was amazed my vehicle wasn’t broken into with all of the transient and questionable things happening in the run down trash filled parking lot. My gas door on my vehicle was opened, so someone did try to mess with my vehicle. Check in was smooth but front desk clerk photo copied my ID and credit card. Does not seem secure. Hotel looked like it used to be a very nice hotel but is not very run down and outdated. No breakfast. Thin towels, work out sunken beds. Bathrooms need majorly cleaned. Mold on ceiling and popcorn ceiling in shower peeling off. Mold under sink area. Super slow draining shower and toilet did not flush unless you held the handle down the entire time. Would not recommend staying here unless you are desperate for everything is sold out around this area. Very u safe feeling.

We were given a room on a floor that had the carpet all torn up, work was clearly being done on the floor. It smelled like drywall, plaster, and musty. Not something we wanted our 1 year old inhaling. Our room was dirty, the shower didn't have a shower head, the phone didn't work, among other things. We were moved to a different floor and room after informing the front desk of the problem, the only good thing about the new room was that it actually had a shower head. The room was still dirty with hair in the bathroom and splashes of something on the door. I've been calling to get a refund for 2 weeks now. Communication is lacking and their phone system just hangs up on you if no one answers, it's VERY hard to get someone on the phone. I don't even want a full refund, we stayed one night and I will pay for that night. They charged us for two nights and won't give us our money back for that second night. I've had to dispute the charge with my credit card, this is ridiculous.

This is a really older hotel but very clean and well maintained. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful when I checked in Tues. My only disappointment was the bed and pillows. Bed was pretty old and pillows were not comfortable for me. My room was very clean, great a/c and quiet. I would stay there again but maybe try a king size bed vs the 2 queens.

Some hotels I return to, others I don't. I won't be coming back to this one. Reasons: Close to a busy, loud street. Room was clearly not vacuumed, so who knows what else wasn't cleaned. Dirtiest breakfast area I've ever seen. Thin walls. Old smell. Other reviewers commented about safety outside the hotel -- nothing happened to my car, but be aware. I give two stars vs one because the front desk employees were quick and kind, and the location isn't far from things in downtown Wichita. Basically, it's an old hotel in a possible sketchy part of town. I personally dislike those things.

My daughter had a procedure that required us to stay close to the hospital, the beds are comfortable, the room wasn't that clean (for the price we paid), had only 2 towels, no trash liners. Man at the front desk was nice, I believe his name is Sam. I realize they are working on the Hotel. However, though it was only $5.33, it showed up on my card, when i called i was informed that they charge you a parking fee. No one told us they charge for parking. Will not be staying here again.

Do Not stay. I called in advance of our stay ( May,16)and told them my concern of their Ongoing Renovations: they gave me promises of 1. Only plastic layer on the carpet, 2. Rooms are clean, 3 No noise. When we checked in, we were in shock. Lobby was dim and filled with dusty smell. When I told them we need two rooms next to each other they could not provide as they said when we booked. We waited more than 20minutes to finally get to our rooms. Even more scared by the undone hallway full of paint dust and drywall. The carpet leaded to our rooms are covered by dust and construction debris. Be Aware.....cancel your stay. Do not waste your time and money here. The night shift lady was patient; however, the day shift front desk was less than professional or caring.

Would definitely NOT recommend staying here. sketchy location. Management is cheap and lazy. Pool not open, nor was the hot tub. No Breakfast (despite being advertised) No Bar or Restaurant, just a bunch of empty dinning area being wasted. Such a disappointment. Seriously, Management, Do better. For the cost of the rooms per night, there is no excuse for cutting so many corners. 👎👎👎

I would not recommend staying here. When I checked in I was in line, only one couple in front of me, and a man walked in as the couple was finished cut me in line without even a reservation, and the man at the counter didn’t say anything to me and then acted surprised when I said I was checking in and had a reservation. I also made my reservation in advance and payed when I got to the hotel. They already charged me fees and taxes but for some reason overcharged me an extra $10. The room was kinda gross. There was a large stain on my sheets and random gross platters on things like the nightstand, mirror, and air dryer. The TV Remote had some random brown substance on it. My body runs pretty hot so I like to have a cool room especially when I sleep and the AC was at 65 almost the whole time and I was still sweating, so it could not have been working properly. My friends stayed here as well and the staff treated them very poor, tho I can’t speak all on their behalf. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place. It may only be considered a three star hotel but that doesn’t mean it has to be dirty and not great service. I will not be recommending this place and probably asking people to not stay here.

Between my family and I, we stayed in 5 different rooms. My husband and I's first room had no AC, the fridge looked to be 50 years old and didn't work, and smelled like mold. We moved rooms and the new room although the AC worked, absolutely reeked like mold and mildew and the floor was damp. My parent's room also had no AC and the floor was SOAKED in water. They switched rooms and the new room toilet was broken plus countless other problems. This entire hotel is falling apart and has a very obvious mold problem. Unrelated to the rooms, the breakfast was awful. My family and I sat in the breakfast area for over 30 minutes and all they had available was stale bread, cereal, and raw sausage in the heater (it was literally completely raw meat, still pink and everything). No coffee, no other hot breakfast items, no yogurt, no nothing. It was a busy day, but for how long we sat there you would think they would have refilled something.

Could not be worse. This hotel should NOT be open. Everything is water damaged. The main floor has holes in the ceiling and smells of mildew. The whole hotel is under extreme construction / renovation and there's no discount in price to account for this. The pool is closed in JUNE? They argued with us about getting a 1 hour late checkout even though they are far from busy. There is nothing redeemable about this experience. Do. NOT. come here. Do not believe the fake 5 star reviews. This is the single worst hotel I've ever been to.

Horrible service. False advertising. Was charged way more than supposed to, there was no breakfast as stated by the website. But they were more than happy to let us BUY dinner from their restaurant. We talked it over and decided we didn’t want to stay but they would not allow a refund, and would not offer any kind of vouchers. The whole building appeared to be dusty front the work they were doing but not cleaning up. The rooms were OK. They were not completely stocked however and lacking items normally supplied. Some light switches did not work or light bulbs were not even there. Ive makers not working, booking rooms on floors where construction is in the process. Outside is very unkempt. Not all doors work to let you in the building.

This note has potential under its new management, however it was not worth the Garden rate…. The hotel is currently understaffed, although very nice and accommodating. The staff was highlight of my stay. The property is under MASSIVE renovation after what seems like years of deferred maintenance and upkeep. The room was quite small and still needing updating. There was a lot of “night activity” around the property, all stayed clear of the parking lot and guest vehicles. I had to switch rooms because the A/C unit died. The restaurant was “up” had officially reopened, however the hours of operation started at 10am and breakfast was not complimentary. I’ve stayed in better places for the price… most likely won’t stay here next time. Stayed on 06/14/2023.

The electronic lock on our room door was broken and would not open, they sent us up and down to our floor FOUR TIMES before they would believe me that it was broken. Then the manager then followed us and unlocked it with a master key. We had to repeat this process EVERY SINGLE TIME we came and went from the hotel, even though they sent a maintenance man to our room to fix the lock (which did not work, by the way, and was only a further inconvenience). It was extremely frustrating and caused us many many delays in our trip, and furthermore they refused to relocate us to a room with a working door. So we had no room keys the entire trip and had to wait on a manager to come let us into our own room every single time we wanted to enter our OWN room.

advertising. The website explained there would be a continental breakfast as well as a hot breakfast. The only option for a hot breakfast item was toast and coffee. There wasn't any protein. The website advertised an indoor pool and 24 hour fitness center. The staff tried to tell us the pool was closed due to the time of year. This shouldn't matter if it's indoor. The room we chose noted that max occupancy was 4 people. There was absolutely no sleep accommodations for four people nor linens for four even though we paid for 4 people. We were told AFTER we had already paid for our room and couldn't cancel that the entire hotel was undergoing renovations. The renovations were on every single floor and included: stacks of sheetrock piled up and debris in the hallways; open walls from floor to ceiling revealing plumbing but also creating a major safety hazard as anyone-especially a child could fall in between the walls/studs/wall and framing; demoed furniture with nails sticking out of it and at about waist level-also head level for young children. When ALL these things were brought to management's attention as well as a price comparison of hotels offering similar amenities and without the unsafe renovations and a price dadjustment was requested, we were told that they don't adjust any pricing. We also asked for a complete refund twice and were denied. We also asked several others who were staying if they were told about the renovations, knew the breakfast wasn't hot, knew there was no pool/indoor pool. They affirmed our surprise and experience. With all this said, we are inclined to never trust another Wyndham hotel in ANY location and will be sure to share our experience with all of our friends and family so that they can avoid a similar experience as ours. We would welcome any attempt by Wyndham to try to bring any acknowledgement of how poorly we were treated and validate our feelings and attempts at communicating with staff our concerns on-site. They were rude and dismissive as well as continuing to lie or not address the false advertisements. At this point, what might remedy the situation would be a refund of our money and a complimentary stay at another Wyndham for our family of 5. Hopefully, no one else ever has our experience

The hotel was under construction and they don’t tell you that when making reservations. The lobby was covered in plastic, decorations was hanging off the wall. It looked like it shouldn’t even be open to the public. Their attitudes sucked. When I cancelled the lady basically told me to cancel on my end which a hotel has never expected me to do finally she said I did it on my end and hung up. Homeless people were hanging around outside filling out signs and the hotel property on the outside was unkept and looked sketchy. Would not ever go back there

We stayed at Wyndham Garden this weekend and were incredibly let down. We've stayed here before with no issues but this time when we got there we were harassed by a non-hotel person walking into the hotel. Not their fault but it was uncomfortable. Then we get to our room. The hotel is under construction and we were told breakfast is on us for the inconvenience. We appreciated that but in the middle of the night someone else was given our room. We were woken up by someone barging in. Then a few hours after the incidence occurred (still during sleeping hours) the front desk calls to tell us they've lost our information and need us to come down to recheck into the room. When we go down there we get no apologies. They were extremely rude and finally we said that we didn't receive the stay we had anticipated and were awoken not once but twice due to an error at the desk. At this point we'd like to be reimbursed since our stay wasn't even a stay. The front desk declined saying they could not refund us since we ate the breakfast. We hadn't ate the breakfast, which was free. Again, no apologies were made for the awkward and startling double booking of our room and nothing was done for the error on their part which made us recheck in hours after our check in. I was let down by the customer service and lack of empathy for a paying customer. When we contacted their corporate they also said there is nothing they can do and denied our money back. BEWARE

Pretty bad experience here. Starting off I called once for 3 consecutive days to ask about early check in. We had a drive for 8 Hours and we were pretty exhausted. All three times the man said if I called ahead of time to let them know I was coming I would be given an available room. When we finally arrived we were told there were no rooms despite having called ahead. We were forced to wait in the car for 4 hours. The outside of the building is not safe by any means. There is vandalism, loiterers, and trash everywhere. I did not feel safe here. When we finally checked into the hotel we were told we needed I have the physical card despite having already paid for it on their website online. The card was only available through our app and we did not have it with us. We were forced to use a different card which completely messed up our financial plans. After an exhausting 4 hours we finally arrived to the room and it was a complete disappointment, there are no working lights in our room aside from opening the curtains. The room is completely smaller than what was shown on the picture and the restroom was dirty with what seemed to be a used towel on the floor. The television thankfully works but it is a small one not at all what was shown on the images on the website. In conclusion, it seems this place is ran by one or 2 people which explains why there is such bad management and low standards. I would not rely on their website and the pictures are NOTHING like the room. This building is not safe and I would recommend a different hotel.

Was overcharged $200 and was told it would “go away”. After several phone calls it was finally refunded. No towels or tissues in the bathroom. Was told “you’re not the only guest here” never got any towels. The shower was clean but water was warm at best. Bed had hair on it from previous stay. The breakfast was disgusting! Sausage was dry and old and the same with the eggs. They had cereal but no milk and refused to offer any to other guest. Definitely don’t recommend staying here! Save your money and headache!

Overall I enjoyed my stay in the area, if you are seeing a show or event at the Intrust Arena, this is VERY walk-able. The gentleman working the front desk when I checked in was amazingly friendly, engaging and helpful. In fact I never had a bad interaction with any of the staff. The hotel itself however is in a tipping point of disrepair in many areas. The folks that own it are new owners as I was told, so maybe they'll work to better the property. The room itself was fine, my bed was big and soft, definitely comfortable. The toilet clogged easily however and would run from time to time especially if you didn't flush it exactly right. The TV which I never actually used was a mid 2000's era Phillips LCD TV. The Continental breakfast was meh, as you'd expect really. I didn't get to try the family run Indian restaurant sadly. But man those spices are noticeable when they start cooking. I got in and took a nap before walking around the city and when I woke I got a nose full of spice, it wasn't bad just wow. If I stay here again I'll definitely hit up their restaurant.

Front desk staff was rather rude & looked unprofessional. Advertised free breakfast online & when in lobby there’s a sign saying they aren’t doing it. They advised due to staffing, but for $90-150/night I would expect more. Refused to transfer reservation to a different sister property. Needs to invest in a landscaping company or lawn mower as grass in medians on property we’re about chest height. Other reviews about area being sketch is accurate. Do not recommend staying here.

Room lighting in room is very dim and you cannot see a thing. I am so glad I didn't sleep on the left side of the bed. Sheets were not changed 🤮. Not a single pillow was the same and 3 of the 4 didn't fit inside the pillow cases. I had to ask for bath towels 2 times. There was still a dirty face cloth in the bathroom onthe rack. I used my sanitizer wipes to clean the bathtub because it wasn't clean. New grout, and a ton of scraps in the bathtub. There wasn't a turn table in the microwave either. I did talk with the people that are trying, there is a take over happening. When they took it on they were operating at only 10 %. They only had a few rooms that are fully restored. United airlines comps rooms to this hotel.

Good place if you are looking to just sleep for the night. Check online if price has decreased before you check in. Asked 3 times if they would honor lower price, NO RESPONSE from manager. Front door locked if you arrive at 12 noon & no one answered the phone. Called 4 times. No note on door. They said they were checking on rooms. Front desk personnel is USELESS. They take messages for the manager but can't find message the next morning.

My bed sheet had dried blood on it, the comforter had stains on it, and when the front desk was notified they did not apologize or offer to change my room. Not even an apology! Rather just an acknowledgment. I was genuinely concerned about my car during my stay due to its location. Do not waste your time and money here, stay somewhere else!

UPDATE: The hotel reported to my credit card company that I never showed up to my reservation and they charged a no show/no cancellation fee. I asked the man at the desk, WHEN I SHOWED UP, if my reservation would be cancelled and if I would be refunded. I have been trying to get in contact with the manager of this hotel for over a week and the manager is somehow always "unavailable" or "in a meeting" when I call to get this taken care of. I cannot dispute this on my credit card because of what they charged. This has been one of the worse experiences. I booked this hotel because it looked nice and was pet friendly. After 16 hours of driving and at 4:30 am we were denied a room and told we would have to stay elsewhere because of the breed of my dog. No where on Expedia or on their website(at the time of booking) did it say anything about breed restrictions and I mentioned this to the hotel staff but they did not care. This hotel still charged me for the room that we were not aloud to stay in and refused a refund. I’ve had to dispute this charge with my credit card. Not to mention the front desk is almost impossible to get ahold of. Do not recommend this hotel if you have pets.

When our power was off for over two days and closer hotels were full we lucked out and found this Wyndham. Great, friendly staff, especially Sam at the front desk. Can't say enough about Sam's helpfulness! Comfortable rooms, good TV choices. Quiet despite being fully booked. The bath towels could be bigger.

Located within reasonable distance from two major venues, this hotel provides a budget option for anyone traveling to town for events. The rooms are somewhat smaller than other hotels of similar price but the location makes up for that, generally. Our room was clean overall with some issues, such as staining in the bathroom, and the layouts are confusing (openly accessible fuse box in the bathroom behind the door, sink outside of the shower/toilet room). The service was confusingly sparse, at times we were unable to enter the hotel lobby from the parking lot while the desk attendant was not present and when asked for simple housekeeping items we were provided the wrong things. The location is good but the parking lot is somewhat confusing to enter, be sure not to miss the turn.

The only good thing that this hotel has is its location but then again the hotel is surrounded by lots of homeless people. Room had a slight smell of cigarette smoke. They definitely tried to clean it but the smell was still there. So much for "non-smoking". TV was not working, two outlets did not work. Hotel was discriminatory towards certain dog breeds, they make it very clear on a sign but they don't say it on the website but still very wrong to discriminate against some breeds. Craziest thing that I've heard was during the check in when the customer in front of me sarcastically asked "do cars get broken into?" Receptionist said "well...not every time" Avoid this place, not worth the price unless you are fine with all that was said above.

We booked our room a week in advance. When it came time to check in they needed to clean a room for us. Our room was hardly cleaned from the previous person. We were given half used soap. The shower was dirty. EVERY window you crossed paths with was incredibly filthy… especially in the elevator (way worse in person) it looked like someone licked the whole elevator. Trash on the ice machine, room temperature yogurt in the morning. We spent $140 for this!!😬

  • 2/5 TynLy B. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely not worth $100 per night. Parking lot run down and sketchy. No free breakfast as advertised. Hot tub not on. The room looked nice but something bit my hand in multiple places overnight and is now swollen. The shampoo in the room was left used.

Obviously in the process of refurbishing an older hotel in an older neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The updates are nice. This hotel is close to everything we wanted to do and see. Nothing was more than about a 10 minute drive.

The room is decent outside pillows that are 12x12”! No breakfast included since Covid? Lawn care is so poor you may loose your 10lb dog. Sadly this could be a very decent hotel if it had proper management.

Best hotel in Wichita! Not to mention the only hotel within walking distance to downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was initially told I couldn't check in until 3pm but when I explained I had been driving for 4 days straight and was tired and felt gross and needed a shower they bent over backwards to accommodate me and get me in the room 3 hours early. After the long drive, I really appreciated that. I just needed the rest and they understood that. There is construction in the hallways, but they try hard to keep the noise down to a minimum. Also, as a result of the construction, they are currently offering discounts until the renovation is completed. It's clear the hotel is under new management, but they are working to make this a nice hotel for their guests. I would recommend staying here.

  • 4/5 patrick B. 1 year ago on Google
we reserved thru a 3rd party while driving, and only found out about the renovation when we got there. We were informed of it and given the chance to cancel. but we were tired and stayed anyway. It was as described with all the plastic in the hallways. Room still needs remodeled, but was clean. Just showing long usage, and the cracked sink (not leaking, cosmetic issue). Heat unit runs hotter than the number on it - we set it at 59 and it was a comfortable temp. Construction times posted as 7 to 6. we didn't hear any noise until 8:30 - so they followed that well. material present in the hallway, but out of the way. Breakfast was our disappointment. probably due to renovation and fewer people. but another person described it as a 'covid breakfast'. cereal, muffins, toast. coffer, juice and milk. no fruit, nothing hot, no protein.

  • 5/5 Shadow J. 1 year ago on Google
Honestly I really enjoyed the hotel. It is under renovations, so hallways are and everything still have some construction being done, but with that being said the rooms were very well done and clean. Sam was extremely accommodating and helpful when we came in and provided excellent service!

  • 1/5 Taylor W. 1 year ago on Google
No where online was it posted that the whole hotel is under construction. The hallways are covered in plastic, no walls down the halls as well — literally can see the pipes exposed that are in the walls. Wasn’t told until we showed up that active construction was undergo, from 7am to 6pm daily. Rooms are very small, and didn’t even have a phone in the room. Do better Wyndham.

Please do something about your LED billboard. It hasn't been updated since COVID started. The COVID safety tips slide is illegible. Several LED panels are burnt out too. It's become a blight on downtown Wichita and reflects poorly on your hotel and our city. It would be better if you turned it off if you can't update it.

The shower was full of mold in the grout lines. The toilet was so low that it didn't even come up to my knee. No breakfast. My key wouldn't work when I got to my room and the front desk got upset when I asked her to bring them to me. The elevator floor tile was broken. There was trash sitting in the hall way. The ice machine was agent. I was in town for a first of several doctor appointments that will be leading to major surgery next year. I was looking for a hotel I could frequent because I am alone and will have to stay in town for a week after my surgery. For sure will not be here. For the price I was so not impressed at all. After my surgery I wouldn't even be able to go to the bathroom or take a shower.

We stayed here as a last resort, and it was pretty awful. We couldn't make it to our initial hotel reservation in Nebraska due to our moving truck breaking down several times, so we stopped at this location after calling to make sure they're pet-friendly like the other location we were going to stay at in Nebraska was. It was after midnight when I walked in to ask for a room and we were all exhausted and mentally drained, so I completely forgot to tell the guy at the registration desk that we were traveling with our cats since we were moving cross country. When I began bringing our belongings into the building, the same guy at the desk (older, maybe middle-eastern man I think), stopped me to ask if I was bringing my pets in. I said yes, then he started talking about a $25 pet fee per pet, and I was so exhausted that I just stood there trying not to scream, when another employee came out to say it was fine and not to charge us, so I finally went up to our room. We brought our belongings in through a side door that I didn't see at first, just to avoid contact with the receptionist. My husband and I later decided to go down and ask them about it again, and when he mentioned the pet fee again, we mentioned that I have an ESA letter if it helps. He asked what the letter was for, which I'm not sure if he was asking what my disability is (which is illegal), or if he just didn't know what an ESA letter was. I got so frustrated that I said "just charge it" and left because I wanted to get to bed already. A few hours later when we were ready to leave, we asked if they had a luggage cart, and my husband noticed a different receptionist was at the desk and explained what happened when we were checking in. Apparently, that same receptionist we dealt with when checking in always harasses people about pet fees, and had done the same thing to an elderly couple I think that day or the day before. We gave them our information so they could tell management about it, but I haven't heard anything. I checked our bank to see if we'd actually been charged the pet fees, and we weren't, so that's good at least. The morning receptionist was extremely pleasant and understanding. I even checked the website to see about the pet fee, and all I could find was information saying it was an "optional $20 fee". Just a note, but most people are going to assume "pet-friendly" means what it sounds like; it's fine to stay with your pets and there's no fee. Anyways, the towels had weird stains and the parking lot was horribly tiny. The room was also a shoe box and I wondered if it used to be a microtel or something, they're that tiny. I would recommend you find anything else in the area if you're able.
