I question why have a children's hospital when yall won't even check a child in? Like I know that wing is for children in need of care but yet here I have a child in need of care and instead we have to go to the other er to check in and sit and wait 4hrs to be seen in waiting room that has only 2 people and then go to the back and wait another 2 hours to been seen by a Dr that don't tell you much .... again why??? Is there a children's hospital emergency check in when I can't even check in there???

The Pediatrician can be very busy and I understand it but it is not a reason why He cannot write and sign a letter with the diagnosis of my daughter, I requested the nurse Selene and she is not a nurse with quality of service to patients, she only responds that the Dr. is very busy. I spoke on Monday May 17 2021 to request the letter and left a voice message and She called me in the afternoon and told me that the Dr. is very busy and that She does not assure me that I have the letter today and I tried to explain the reason why I need that letter and she interrupted me by telling me again that Dr. Allen is very busy and that she would call me when the letter was ready. Wednesday 19 arrived and I did not receive a call from Selene so I called again and left a message on voicemail and Selene called me and told me on Wednesday, that will not call more than once nor will call every day because that would delay more the things and the nurse Selene won't let me explain the reason why I need the document, she just tells me to wait for my call. Today is Friday and she still hasn't called me back to see if the letter is ready. It is ridiculous and unprofessional that in a hospital and even more so, the nursing service does not consider the patient and the family members and I have to be insisting that they give me a document that I need.

In reference to Pediatric Radiology MRI Our 3 year old had to have a sedated MRI today here, a procedure she should have only been sedated for 20 minutes to an hour tops. Instead she was sedated for 3 hours due to their MRI machine not working properly. The same MRI machine that has not been working properly for a while now. This is unacceptable. I pray no child has to go through this & I pray no parent has to endure this with their child from this day forth. The Anastasia Doctor, radiology tech & nurses all did the very best they could yet stated this MRI machine has not been working properly for a while. That is unacceptable, when even the Doctors & nurses know and are advocating for it to be fixed or replaced. I do not recommend taking my child here for a sedated MRI. Our day today began at 7 am we did not leave till 3 pm due to this. Also they do not use gas for sedation its IV witch further added to a very trying day for our 3 year old & us.

I called before heading to the hospital to find out if my daughter was insured. The lady on the phone said I would need to go in to find out. I got to the ER with my daughter the following morning where her vitals were not taken. Her blood pressure, oxygen levels, they didn't look at her ears and barely looked at her throat since she has had strep in the last week. No swab tests were taken for strep or for Covid. The doctor did everything in the waiting area and no where in the ER itself. I asked the receptionist and the nurses and the registration multiple times if we could confirm if she was covered by insurance. An hour and a half later after the registration lady went on lunch break we found out that the insurance was "inactive". I was not able to get my insurance company on the phone because it kept saying they were closed. I then asked to speak with a manager who never showed. Almost 2 hours of waiting for nearly anything to be completed. They also said they sent the prescription to Walgreens. We waited at Walgreens s an additional 40 minutes to find out that Wesley never sent the scripts. We returned back to the ER to ask the scripts to be printed out so we could get them in Oklahoma. This was the worst unprofessional Drs visit I've ever seen. My daughter didn't even realize she saw the Dr. She was waiting to be seen in the ER and the Dr never came. As we were leaving she said aren't they going to see us? I will dispute this bill because we were not given information about insurance. The registration employee took my information and disappeared and never gave us any further info. You should never have to ask to have a swab, vitals, or additional elementary doctors visits to be completed upon being treated in an ER. You should never have to ask 4 different employees if your insurance is covered or not. What a bunch of crooks!

This is a review specifically for pediatric sedation. An amazing experience! My husband was very nervous about the procedure, specifically having to sedate our little one. The team was amazing! Our little didn't even shed a tear during the IV placement. The doctor, nurse practitioner and nurse all explained the process and took as much time as needed to talk to us. 5+ stars!

Full disclosure: This review is based solely on helping with a special Christmas event the staff and volunteers put on for the children. Wichita's Metropolitan Ballet put on a special performance of The Nutcracker for the kids that aren't able to attend one of the local shows. Really touching to see the kids that are obviously used to having to keep that "tough face" on due to their current circumstances smile and get wrapped up in the performance for a while. The parents' faces were just as great to see become happier for a while too. The nurses were very nice, the staff was very accommodating, the volunteers were very dedicated. Well done.

We were so completely amazed coming here. Our son needed to have some procedures done sedated and the nurses and doctors completely eased our minds and took amazing care of our little guy. We could not believe the amazing treatment we received with them bringing in music therapy and different toys to help distract him and make everything such a good experience for him. This will always be our top choice if we need more things in the future.

Came here last night with my sick 14 month old son around 10:30pm and had a really good experience with everyone we came in contact with! Everyone was sweet but our very first nurse who put my sons heart rate thing on his toe and took his temperature was the sweetest! It means a lot to me for my son and I to get treated so well by hospital staff when going through a difficult time. Even the staff that were at the desks that didn't even treat my son were awesome! I hope staff like them can get recognized and awarded because I've been through different situations where hospital staff isn't the nicest and it just makes the whole situation worse. Thank you so much to all the people my son and I came in contact with last night!!!!! Even the woman who comes and double checks your insurance and other information on the laptop was awesome!

Wesley pediatric unit took care of my four day old son after we had to go back to the hospital for complications associated with his jaundice. The pediatric nurses were very helpful in soothing both our newborn baby and us (as new parents with lots of questions). A huge thank you goes out to Chelsea on day shift and Madison on night shift for taking wonderful care of our little guy. If I knew how, Iā€™d nominate them both for daisy awards. Thank you šŸ˜Š

Our 12 week old son was in the PICU for 6 days right before Christmas with RSV. It was a stressful and scary time, but the PICU staff was amazing! Specifically, nurse Jenn was an angel and a blessing beyond words!! Our son is back home and healthy!

I cannot thank resident Dr. Jordan Camp and his attending Dr. Paul Teran enough for the exceptional care they provided to my son during his almost week-long stay at the hospital due to RSV in January 2023. From the moment we met Dr. Camp, we knew that our son was in excellent hands. Dr. Camp was extremely attentive and listened carefully to all our concerns and questions, patiently explaining every step of the treatment plan and providing us with regular updates on our son's progress. My son was a 26 weeker who already has a lengthy medical history. Dr. Teran the attending doctor was equally amazing. He went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met and that we were comfortable during our stay. He was always available to answer any questions we had and provided us with valuable insights into our son's condition and treatment. Both Dr. Camp and Dr. Teran were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. They truly cared about our son's well-being and made every effort to make his hospital stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible. They also showed great empathy towards us, as parents, during what was a very difficult and emotional time. The nursing staff and respiratory staff were also outstanding, and they worked closely with Dr. Camp and Dr. Teran to ensure that our son received the best possible care. The entire team was always available to us, and we felt like we were in good hands throughout our stay. Overall, I cannot recommend Wesley's hospital enough with Dr. Camp and Dr. Teran highly enough. They are outstanding doctors and hospital staff who truly care about their patients and go above and beyond to provide exceptional care. We are grateful to have had them on our son's care team and are confident that we could not have been in better hands. Thank you, Elisa Calvo ( Lorenzo's mom)

šŸ‘šŸ‘ Delivered our baby here and I must say the experience was awesome. The staff members were very supportive and pleasant.
