Great Barrier Island
Island
ππ A 25 minute flight from Auckland airport, Great Barrier Island is like the land that time forgot. Gorgeous beaches with no one else on them, bush tracks all to yourself, friendly people and time just moved more slowly. Give yourself time to explore, rent a car for a day, pack some good walking shoes...

Mulberry Grove Store
Dairy
π Nice friendly store, however none of the goods on sale were priced so no way of knowing what you were going to pay. The receipt didn't provide a cost of individual items either.
Nice place to stop off and have a break π

Port Fitzroy Store
General store
ππ This store is great, friendly staff and well stocked especially considering how hard and expensive it is to get anything sent to the Barrier. Hiking area
π Easy, nice walk to the hot springs. Springs are natural, not curated and not big. 6 people max in the main area of the stream. Take care-it is a geothermal spring so temperatures are not moderated and can get VERY hot.

π Kaitoke Hot Springs is like in the middle of Great barrier Island. The walk from the main road is easy but it may take 45 - 60 minutes. You will walk through the bush/forest hearing birds singing and untouched flora as you walk by. Take a lot of drinking water because once you are in the hot pools,...
