👍👍 This is a hidden gem. It was rebuilt in the 19th century under Gheorghe Bibescu in a style that differs somewhat from the traditional Romanian way of building monasteries. It's beautiful and peaceful and very much worth visiting.

👍👍 Peaceful and pure. Oldest women monastery from Romania. Holds a famous beautiful ancient icon from Mary and child which produced several wonders over the ages. The place survived many attacks from nature and humans so go and worship!

👍👍 One of the most beautiful hermitages at the foot of the mountains. Here you find a special tranquility, and the hermits from this hermitage are welcoming people. The access road from Pahomie is quite ok, and the fact that you can't get there by car makes people a little nervous.
