Pier 43 Ferry Arch image

Pier 43 Ferry Arch
Historical landmark
👍👍 It’s not the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, it’s San Francisco’s very own Pier 43 Arch built in 1914, and used to load and unload rail cars on and off ferries. One of my top five favorite arches in the world. Arches have a place in my heart since they have enabled us to build different types of buildings...

Mt. Davidson Cross
Historical landmark
👍 The Mt. Davidson Cross is a cool sight to see in the city. I am not religious and still found it impressive. It is hidden among the trees on top of Mt. Davidson and is a short hike to reach, but it is impressive in size. A nice hidden gem with surrounding hiking trails and city views.

The Golden Fire Hydrant image

The Golden Fire Hydrant
Historical landmark
🫤 This golden fire hydrant is a bit overrated. It's painted gold, but nothing more. However, there is a story behind it, as it's the hydrant that allowed the firemen to save the Mission District from the Great Fire caused by the 1906 Earthquake. So if you happen to be visiting the Mission Dolores Park...
