One of the best places I've seen in Ankara but it was Saturday and we couldn't have fun because it was too crowded. My advice to you is that do NOT go at weekends because it's too crowded. There're some small markets and restaurants but they're a bit expensive also there're some small souvenirs' shops. Good place to make a photo session. You have to buy a ticket to enter the museum, 2tl for students and 7tl for others, if you're a student, you need to show your student card. Also to enter the bridge you have to pay 1tl for students and 2tl for others. There're a mosque,a playground for children and clean WCs.

(Translated by Google) Ankara is a great place where you can feel yourself in your village without going too far from the city, with the murmur of water, chickens, swans, village toys museum, very old primary school benches, your past will come alive and you can see more and take a walk. Entrance fee is 7 TL for adults, 2 TL for students and teachers. Prayer clothes for ladies are available inside), It is useful to go early, Activity areas for children (painting), The park is an environment where children can have a pleasant time, we enjoyed it very much, you can take a thermos, picnic material if you wish, there are picnic places, it's a must. If you happen to go, (there is a free car park) I personally thank the Altındağ Municipality for such a museum.

This is a wonderful place to see great nature, to enjoy a peaceful moment, to see animals (chicken, geese, sheep, goats, deer etc), and buildings - all of which resemble a village of the past. It is a popular place for models and brides to be photographed. There r restaurants at regular intervals so u can refresh yourself. This is a place to come to for the whole afternoon. I love the water- and windmill, the kid's parks, and a long swinging bridge. (Unfortunately, it was closed due to repair when we were there.) The only issue is the menus. Every restaurant sells literally the same unhealthy food. Most are sweets and processed snacks and gözleme, which is OK, but there's little filling and lots of dough. No side dish, salad or fruit available. The selection of drinks is also incredibly weak. No plant-based mylk or vegean snacks.

Really nicely kept outdoor museum of traditional village life. Lots of walking up and down hills but in the pleasant shade of weeping willow trees and the stream running amongst them, it was very enjoyable. Lots of play areas for kids makes it a very family friendly atmosphere. The suspension bridge was closed so we didn't get a chance to go on it, but looks like it would amazing to walk across.

Great place to visit. Very calm and moody place. Better to visit during spring as everything shall be lush green and fresh. I visited during winter but still the landscape was awesome there. There’s a hanging bridge which is closed for tourists, I guess for maintenance reasons but if it is open it would be of great interest for the visitors. It is merely a walking distance from the bus station and the neighboring community also blends seamlessly into this landscape. The ticket price is 5 Turkish Lira for adults.

A vast open-air museum where you can the traditional Anatolian housings, farm animals, a wild life museum, stables and much more... the entrance is 2 liras for students which is literally free for such a nicely designed open-air. Parking is free and very convenient. At the main square, there are some small cafes. Make sure you grab a gozleme or perhaps try out the Turkish village style breakfast. Do not skip visiting the wild life museum which is a bit far however definitely worth a visit.

I have never known such a concept village to be in Ankara. While you are walking, cows are passing and seeing them and more. That's outstanding experience you could have in city. I strongly recommend you to go with guest who come from out of ankara. You can get local flavors with good services.

Open air, portrayal of village antiques and culture. Take a bus from Ulus, go there. 9 TL entry price. Pass a day or a half in natural serenity. Have food around, buy a stone stove baked bread for home.

A very beautiful museum that consist of an old town center that has some museum sections while the rest of the whole area is an open park. The entrance ticket is really cheap. 4 liras for student ticket and 6 for adults. You will see many animals: chickens, ducks, goats, cows, and horses. The park is clean and is kept well. There is a river that runs through the middle of the park but it seems that they drain the water during winter so I recommend coming during the warmer seasons. The big walk bridge over the park was closed when I arrived at the park unfortunately but regardless, it’s still a fantastic place to go. I recommend going to this place with your family, for tourism, or for anyone who enjoys a nice time outdoors or like learning about culture/history of the past.

(Translated by Google) Both the park and the museum are nice places to visit in the evening. Seeing at least horses, goats, sheep, deer, etc., for children growing up far from natural life is another reason to travel.

(Translated by Google) Type your search query and hit enter: HOME PAGE PLACES TO VISIT Places to visit Where is Altınköy Open Air Museum, Entrance Fee and Visiting Hours / Ankara There are many places to visit in Ankara. Altınköy Open Air Museum is just one of them. Ankara has come to the forefront as a city of civil servants, where mostly government offices are located. For this reason, it is known as a city where social life and the number of places to visit are thought to be low. The truth of the matter is that this is not the case. The museum is a great place for those who are curious about village life. It is a museum that must be visited by people who are tired of city life or who have never seen village life. The aim of the museum, which was recently built by Altındağ Municipality, is to introduce the old village architecture and life to generations. Therefore, in the museum area, there is everything that reflects the village architecture and life from the 1950s. Village culture in a 500-decare land Altınköy Open Air Museum is located on a 500-decare land. Here; village coffee house, headman's office, stables, goats, sheep, miniatures, animals such as cats, dogs, birds and garden cultures in the villages. Frequent student visits are made to the open-air museum, which reflects the past and a natural life quite well. Thus, children are made to love natural life. In order to gain a love for animals, they are allowed to interact with the lambs, sheep and horses in the village. Altınköy Open Air Museum, which has become a place for both visiting and education, is among the must-see places in Ankara. You must roam freely among the animals and gardens to live imaginative lives in the village. You can even have a gossip, tea and coffee break at the village coffee house.

Excellent Turkish brunch to be had in Dongel Restaurant, the rest is a bit OTT, pretty enough in an urban desert like Ankara it seems a welcome oasis but nothing special if you came from a country where parks and recreational places are part of urban planning as a matter of course! Come for breakfast its the best!
