De L’Europe is clearly a serious hotel however I found that Freddy’s Bar fell short of its surroundings. Service was courteous but quite slow and I was treated to the smallest vermouth of my life (take note those of you used to the normal Mediterranean serving size), perhaps it’s the Dutch way? For a drink there are better options (including just across the street). Great toilets though.

Eclectic and delicious drinks in a high-end lounge environment with a very nice bar. Highly recommend when visiting Amsterdam. It gets crowded, but if you are able to grab a seat, enjoy!

This is one of my favourite places to stop for a classic old fashioned. Top 5 I’ve had in the city. I’m not going to tell you which one is number one or even if this is it. It might be. It might not be. Let’s be honest, anyone that says a bar serves the best anything in a city probably hasn’t had a great something in most places. It’s subjective. However, this old fashioned is the subject and I’m the student and I plan to come to class more often. Great bartender, fantastic location with a curious history and enjoyed with outstanding company.

Nice place to sit outside when the weather is good. You can sip a cocktail contemplating the sunset, the canal in front of you, the bikes and people walking around. I had diplomático reserva especial rum and shrimp croquettes. Lovely

Fantastic atmosphere in this elegant cocktail bar. Friendly and knowledgeable service, Mai tai and negroni were exquisite. Beautiful views and classy crowd.

Please be aware that this bill is for one Dandy Brandy 17€ and ONE old fashioned!!ONE!!! they justified the amount by saying to make an old fashioned I need two shots of That Rye, I’ve been everywhere including Freddy’s and I was never charged 36€ for ONE old fashioned, disgusting… avoid please.. and don’t chit chat with that bartender he might think U’re a millionaire and charge u double the price… never coming back again!

Great bar. Mixes a high end feel with the dutch "bruine bar" vibes. If you have a bit of budget you will sit comfortably and get great service. Its part of the Hotel l'europe but unlike other hotelbars its way more inviting to just come in for drinks even if your not a guest. Also the best location in the city to start your night of. Shout out the the staff. They are top notch

The bar is beautiful and you can sit outside. But unfortunately I couldn't drink my cocktail, the taste of one juice or the mixture was strange

Gin Mare served with lime and not in G&T glass? What an excellent decision of the bar manager! and my girlfriend had a glass of wine and it was also served in a tiny little wine glas. We decided to leave after one drink and we didn’t enjoy the atmosphere either. Absolutely not a five star! We went to another bar called Satchmo and we had a proper G&T and some cocktails. The place doesn’t call itself 5 stars but we had a great 5 stars experience.

The place has an upscale and classy look to it. The bar tenders are elite professionals and friendly to talk to, also they enjoy making drinks based on what you like. I would recommend going while visiting the city

Great cocktails, classic or own creation. I'm a fan, to get the 5th star the staff should be friendlier, they are they are forced to he so polite and correct that they become standoffish.

Great cocktails, nice atmosphere.

Thought it looked a bit expensive when looking at the drinks menus online but it was worth every cent. The cocktails were amazing and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Asked about some "classic" cocktails that were not on the menu and the staff suggested a few alterations to the classics and they were spot on. Will definitely go back again!
