Good prices for the location, close to the water.

NOT GO THERE GUYS!!! The man at the bar was very rude and he even talk to me very bad when I complain because it troughs your card at me after paying !! and they do not even serve customers at the table!! Really you have a lot of option just avoid here!!!!!

Owner/bouncer is clearly racist, doesn’t like English people, avoid at all costs. Not welcome and aggressive, “we’re full” when there’s so many empty tables on entry. Good luck in future

This is a nice little bar in Central Amsterdam. Friendly, the locals will chat to you and the bar staff are always friendly. The music was great.

The only non-dog friendly venue (including restaurants) we have found in the whole of Amsterdam across many trips! Update: having read other reviews it may well be us (we’re Brits, and to make it even better I’m a Eurasian Brit!) that he objected to rather than our tiny dog as I’ve seen a LOT of reviews saying how racist the guy there is! I highly recommend you go to Cafe de Zeevaart opposite instead - lovely bar :)

Owner yelled at me to get out of the way when entering. They largely only speak Dutch here. I do not speak Dutch. As I stayed it occurred to me I was the only non-Dutch person here. Which I dig but the owner wasn’t friendly towards me. The bartender was nice though, and they play real Dutch music instead of American popular records. Very expensive compared to nearby bars.

Bar staff are extremely rude. Told us to order a drink immediately after walking in (as if we were planning to sit there all day without one?). At the bar they spoke about us in dutch and just about managed to conjure up the energy to serve us. Get the impression they do not like tourists so not sure why they have a bar in the middle of the main tourist area. Place was also grubby and boring

The old bartender guy picks who he wants to serve. Just came in to order whiskey and was turned away. Horrible bar anyways. Place has a few people in it. I saw the same bartender turn other people away for simple questions. So it seems he can't even comprehended simplicity. The bar is dirty and not clean. I do not recommend.

For me 5 Stars. Lovely music, peaceful environment, great vibes at the bar side, very interesting wiesbeer ( in a good way) feels like applecider ale. Anyways, we feel like heaven now, could be also the reason of the cake we have just ate👏🤣 Enjoy this place people, have a beer and get warm up, have a little chat and feel like everything is alright. Yes, because it is! It always is, just try finding the best reasons. Because you can, peace ✌️🌞🍀🧿

Was killing an afternoon for a flight the next day. Bartender super friendly with chit-chat. Comped me a couple shooters. Great location.

If I could live a 0 star to this place I would. The owner is RUDE and does not want your business. All he cares is money. He is not customer service friendly. We came in with a group of 8, we were trying to collect the order and he informed us to "calm down". Man, we are trying to facilitate your work. If you hate your job, close your business and move onto the next thing. Customer service is not your strenght. If you want a better experience, go somewhere else. This guy hates his job

Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s in the so called touristy area. Highly recommend you go and check it out yourself. You’ll end up meeting people from all over the world. The staff/owner are awesome people.

Pleasant friendly staff and efficient too, but very unpleasant unfriendly rude owner (an old bald Dutch man) with obvious anger management and mental heath issues which is a pity because it could be a cool place under better friendly and non xenophobic management. After living 40 years in Amsterdam I have NEVER come across such a nasty person in the bar business, it's amazing that he's still in business, but I suppose being in the middle of the Red light area he doesn't care how rude he is because the next day there'll always be fresh victims to abuse. JUST HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! AVOID at all costs.
