I'm an architectural photographer of industrial and other places and usually see these places empty and neglected so it's great to see one put back into use. Found it by accident really. Absolutely loved the service and food. The prices were reasonable too, €12.50 each for a hot breakfast, couple of drinks each and bottomless fries. Had a really pleasant breakfast with my friends, I loved the mint tea. There are vegan options too which is great, or just speak to the server to ask for what you need. The are English menus. Chianti was our server and was really friendly and very efficient, so thank you for the great service Chianti! If I'm ever in Amsterdam again I'll be sure to come back.

We are fans of industrial architecture and Cafe Restaurant has done an amazing job using the former water pumping station with the original diesel engine still on display. We decided to eat on their lovely outdoor patio overlooking the canal because the weather was so nice. We enjoyed our evening there very much. My wife really enjoyed the very fresh artichoke with mustard sauce, and the steak frites were delicious. We will definitely return on our next visit to Amsterdam. We have already recommended Café-Restaurant Amsterdam to friends who will be visiting Amsterdam.

This former factory has all the trappings of becoming an Instagram haven, the interior is minimal and has kept many of the factory elements. Yet, it is not. Partially because the neighborhood makes sure that a melee of folks are regulars and partly because the menu is so Dutch, that it just doesn’t flex well for the gram. Krokketjes will never look good, no matter how many filters you try. So while you should not expect five star food, what you get in return is great space, decent enough food, good service and a place to return to for many different events and meals.
