WELCOME TO THE NOGOZONE! The Marnix is the worst hotel I have been in Amsterdam! The staff is rude, the rooms and toilets are tainted! Due to overbooking, I was installed with my girlfriend in a room with 10 beds side by side and the room had no window! My face was stacked to the feet of another guy that I don't knew! There are also a lot of cockroaches, stained sheets, dust everywhere. My girlfriend had an important allergy attack (cough, pimples and inflamed eyes) and the staff did not want to pay us back. You must know that in Marnix, you pay before visiting your room (we've paid for 10 nights)! Finally, they decided to move us in a 6 beds room... not better... I took several pictures... enjoy your very bad trip!

Avoid it. I know it supposed to be low budget hotel but it is not worth the money. It does not look like on official pthotos. Room was super small, beds was too soft and unconfortable. Window was very weird - it was not isolating noise from outside so it was hard to sleep. Overall standard was very low. Dirt everywhere and strange smell when you enter the room like it was too much humid in the air. Room access card works bad and I had to figure out how to use it. At least localisation was very good and service stuff was OK. I can recommend it only if you do not care about standard and just want to has close to city center or simply you or very lov budget.

This hotel is very average for a very reasonable price. The location is great for nightlife with plenty of bars and coffee shops. Unfortunately the Europa league cup final coincided with my stay, it got very loud for most of the day. The room and en suite bathroom were clean. OK if all you want is a bed for a few nights.

It's more a hostel than a hotel. The WiFi is unusable, the taps are not fixed to the sinks, one shared toilet and shower per floor, dirty when we arrived (even 2h after check-in start time). That should give you a better idea of what to expect, we were quite disappointed for the price we paid. Receptionist is friendly.

Cool Historical building in a great location. some rooms have a private shower, some share a shower and bathroom . Great customer service! Comfortable beds and pillows! Nice clean towels, and the maids do an excellent job at keeping the rooms up. You can't beat the price for the location. I will be staying here again next time I am in Amsterdam. Added bonus: there is a coffeeshop right across the street that is open until 1am (: don't stay here if you don't like stairs though!

The hostel is very well located, we pay a little high value to have a private room with bathrooms, it was OK to sleep one night. Beds are in really bad shape and although the rooms where clean everything is outdated and not in its better conditions. If you get a good deal and not pretend too much it could be a good choice. If your are not in the mood for teenagers screams or are about to spend 90€ or more just spend a few more € and go to a better place.

We booked a room for 3, relative to the price we had pretty good stay. The room was clean, the reception was friendly and ready to help at all time, the toilet was clean and so was the shower, the WiFi speed was fast too. It's also located quite near the city center. Only problem: The walls are quite thin. We could hear everything going on outside our room. The window too wasn't very isolative. Also were the traffic noises during night unfortunate loud. Concluding: We've been pretty happy with the accommodation, -1 for the poor isolation

A good base from which to explore this interesting city. I stayed in one of the dorms that accommodate 10 people. All my roommates were friendly. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The room itself was not very clean but the bunk bed sheets were changed every day so your resting space is comfortable and clean. I used the free safety deposit boxes to store my valuables and that gave security, long with the 24hr manned reception. From this secure environment I was able to get out each day to enjoy the sights and sounds of Amsterdam and there are plenty!

The shared toilet was flooded when we arrived. I mentioned it and the receptionist said he'd have it fixed the following day and that we were to use the shared bathroom on the floor above. However, it smelled pretty bad and I persisted for quite a while and so he upgraded us to a room with a private bathroom. Other guests were not so fortunate though. I think they had to stay in their room next to a smelly flooded toilet and I don't think it got fixed during the 3 days we were there. One the positive side: Apart from the toilet, which management did eventually resolve for us, the place is basic but clean enough.

Very very well located, the staff is welcoming. Decent beds. Small room, without equipment. Very thin walls, very noisy. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Fair price for the center but still expensive for the service offered. Ok just to sleep for a few nights.

The vintage /original backpacker experience! Don't listen to all the haters. This a real gem backpackingwise like they were in the 1990ties. Obviously no TV (who needs it?) Yes you share the bathroom and wc with the rest of the good people on your floor. Gives you a chance to say hello. The shower works. The toilet works. Any questions so far? We stayed in 101 great small room for 3 people. Complete with a dysfunctional water tab that could not be turned off. Which created a really funny unforgettable situation. (this alone was worth the 5 stars.) Unfortunately we did not hear the neighbors or were disappointed with stairs or any of the other stuff people where keep whining about. Our room was completely original with missing panels (so cool) but no pet mouse! (disappointing) perfect location. Working wifi and super cheap. We totally recommend this hostel.

Horrible place. Bed bugs. Woke up covered in bites And the doors dont open u have to almost kick down the door. The windows are thin so u can hear everything outside. Worst place ever the staff did absolutely nothing to fix any of the problem. Even to get toilet paper they look like u where bothering them. If they would put toilet paper in the bathroom this would not happened. They just need to shut that place down or sell it cause no one gives 2 fs about it. The only thing good was the vending machine

Horrible hotel. We got stolen out laptop and all our chargers from room 1 hour after the staff went in to clean. Hotel refused to show videos and gave problems to give help to police. Cleaner say they hadn't cleaned that room but rubbish is changed and the beds are done. What a surprise. Hotel staff made them go away with the van where the dirty shirts and I imagine our gadgets also hidden in there. They didn't let us look inside and police could not do nothing. DON'T GO!

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
