The only good thing about this "hotel" is Location. This "hotel" is very conveniently located for those looking to visit Amsterdam centraal. The double bed was a decent size and the toilet/bathroom was clean. The cafe/pub called Cafe Bouwman, which directly outside this "hotel" is delightful and is definitely worth visiting for a coffee or cold beer by the canal. Now on to what you really need to know: If you value your sleep like I do... DO NOT STAY AT THIS "HOTEL" The steps inside the "hotel" are very steep and anyone going up and down WILL wake/keep you up at night. I had the misfortune of staying here for 3 nights. During our first night we were kept awake from 12am until 6am by the room next to us, who were shouting and slamming doors all night. I complained to the reception, they were polite and they had a word with the noisy folk. This kept them quiet for roughly 10 mins, after which they continued to row, laugh, shout and giggle throughout the night. Evidently the walls are ridiculously thin. I was not given any compensation or refund for the first nights lack of sleep. 2nd and 3rd night we were woken up by constant door slamming and stomping (mostly coming from the stairs). Pricing: This "hotel" is overpriced for what you get and really not worth the headache and lack of sleep. The only thing that's good about it is its location. I would never and will never recommend this place to anyone and definitely won't be staying here again.

My experience at the ITC Amsterdam was underwhelming, primarily due to the poor cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms. Despite the exceptional service from staff members like Cassandra, the extremely dirty rooms, complete with bugs in my clothing, and the pervasive noise from neighboring rooms severely impacted my stay. The bathrooms were not cleaned daily, and there was a noticeable odor throughout. The hotel’s redeeming quality was its excellent location, close to fantastic cafes, offering convenience for exploration. While the affordability of the hotel may appeal to budget-conscious travelers or those in a rush, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. The low cost does not compensate for the discomfort and issues faced during the stay. . The term “you get what you pay for” rings especially true in this case, where the low cost cannot compensate for the fundamental issues of cleanliness and comfort. It’s a stark reminder that sometimes, a bargain can come with unwelcome costs.

Where do I start... This place is absolutely terrible, I book through Expedia, and the room provided wasn't anywhere as good as what was presented. Pictures have been photoshoped and enhanced. The room was a basement room, with almost no external light. It was were dirty, smelly, with dump. It also had a very sketchy electrical wiring about to break every time it was plugging something in. Bed was unconfortable, with torn bedsheet. The overall cleanliness of the room wasn't great. The "en suite" bathroom was with a semi open door, so not ideal if you need some privacy. Mould everywhere on ceiling and wall, and right behing the headboard. The Carbone Monoxide / Fire detector was covered with a plastic bag, and the only excuse they had was " Well must be the previous client..." Basically they are renting a place to sleep, but it's nowhere near an hotel lastly this room was located next to a shared toilet, and you can hear people going in and out in hte middle of the night. I was really desapointed, and obviously they don't offer a refund, even if it's a proper lie. The one positive point is it's location fairly central, But there are nicer place and much cleaner in the area for similar prices. See below some pictures of the Room.

There is NO airport shuttle, there is NO free breakfast. What there is, is BEDBUGS! They were indeed bedbugs, not mosquitos. The pharmacist we consulted said to "Check out of the hotel now."

Shared bathroom, no soap in the shower, smelly bathroom, the room is extremely tiny, stairs are very narrow. It's not a mattress sheet but just a regulsarone fold.

Don’t, just don’t. One star for location and the young lady on reception when we left. This place is not for the faint of heart; dingy, tired and noisy do not begin to describe the place. The only place in the building to have seen investment in the last 10 years is the washroom behind reception. And if you do ignore my advice, make sure that you don’t end up with a room in the basement. Beyond grim.

A lot of money for very little in return, but don't expect anywhere so central to be cheap. Great location, friendly staff. More like a hostel rather than a hotel. Could be cleaner (very dusty down the side of the bed). Not ideal if you're over 6 foot and staying on the top floor

I was given a basement room with no windows first two nights which was located at a separate building, which had no reception or staff! Never had that before! Mosquito bites, tiny room. I will not stay again.

I've come here to share my review after recommending this hotel to a friend that regularly visits the Netherlands. First of all good morning or afternoon where ever you may be. My name is LLifon and I stayed here with my partner Leonie over the Christmas period with no issues at all. The hotel did exactly what we wanted it to do. To provide a comfortable experience whilst we visited Amsterdam and that's exactly what it did. The hotel was clean enough and the room was perfect for both of us. Enough space and the bathroom was almost perfect. The toilet was abit tall for my preference and that is my only complaint. We loved the windmill on the wall, a proper reminder of where we were 😂! Outside our window we had a lovely view of the less touristy side of Amsterdam with plenty of locals walking their dogs. The canal outside the window was lovely to look out at when the mrs was getting ready. Canal boats would glide by very often. It was a lovely view. The staff were keen to help and the service provided was up to expectations for the price. Not a bad experience where staff are concerned. Location was fantastic! Your in Amsterdam so expect to walk LOADS. It was only 10 minutes from the beginning of all things busy so that was great for us. If you'd like to relax more there's a tram-stop right outside the hotel that will take you to Centraal Station for less than 5 euro. But i recommend walking more so that you can find little gems yourselves. This hotel is in Amsterdam so expect steep steps ascending the building. It's common knowledge in this country that steps are steep because the Dutch built up rather than wide. I believe it's something to do with taxation on the buildings back in the day. Basing a negative review on luggage and steps is absolutely redicilous and I'm sure the staff here would help you with your luggage if you asked politely. Overall a great hotel that we both agreed we would stay here again in the future! Thank you ITC 🏨🛎️

Dishonest Staff, they lie to your face, there's no air conditioning, tiny steep stairways, or if you don't want it or have more luggage, you get leaky stingy basement rooms. During my recent trip, I called in spoke with 'Vivian' , told her that I'd only make a reservation if they had a room on the ground floor, yet when I got there, I had to drag my luggage up a steep staircase, to top it off, there was no air-conditioning. I went back requesting a room change, learnt, all their rooms are without air-conditioning. The weather was very warm, it was unbearable, I made a polite request to issue a refund, she started insisting on no-refundable policy, I politely mentioned that there's been a clear communication gap, my travel agent booked the accommodation, had I known there's no air conditioning, I'd have never booked it, then she agreed to refund the amount for one night, my booking was for two nights, so she essentially wanted to forfeit the amount for one night and the city tax for both days which she charged me upfront as I got there. I had to take a work call, I was finding it difficult to find a hotel as I had to work that day too and I was already behind schedule, after my meeting, I went back to her and I said, hey, you're charging me for one night and refunding the next one, I might as well occupy a room for this evening, I'll be out with friends, all I need is a place to securely stow away my luggage and freshen up, stay tuned, she says it's possible your room(the one with the steep staircase) may be gone, and not surprised it was, so now they have made thrice the money on my possible one night of stay. She says, I have to go pick up my son, my colleague Steven will help you, there's a room on the third floor or we have basement rooms, I'm like I won't stay in a basement, he has to help me bring my luggage up, I'll freshen up and head out later to meet my friends. She leaves, Low and behold, Steven says he only has two basement rooms, one tiny(more like a broom closet) with a big window and another twin room with a tiny window, I chose to take the larger room, so I don't die of anxiety and claustrophobia in a basement. What I got in the end was a leaky basement (yes there was seepage from above in the room and bathroom), dusty beds, unclean towels and a tiny window. My agency was supposed to get the refund for one night that I didn't use and I were to be issued the same by them after the hotel paid it back, here comes the dishonesty, Mr. Steven denies the refund. I followed up for several weeks and they casually write back since you stayed, we won't pay you, they still got the room which they must have lent out the next day, so they quadrupled the money on that basement room, not a bad investment/ way to make money if you want to compromise your dignity, professionalism and honesty. What this hotel is lacking is their staff not keeping a box of pepper powder to just throw it in peoples eyes and snatch money for them. DO NOT BOOK, you're better off somewhere else, don't go to this dump. Update Date Feb 22, 2024 (After response from the Hotel) I have receipts on my email to prove I stayed here, no wonder the staff I interacted with doesn’t work their anyway, the terrible job they did anyone should think twice before employing them.

Tiny but decent loction for price can walk to pretty much anywhere in town within 30mins or so. Rented terrible bikes and had to argue for 20 minutes to get my deposit back can get much better bikes for less elsewhere. Will be going somewhere else next time.

We’ve had MICE in our room because our bread was eaten and there were breadcrumbs all over the place (townhouse). Once addressed to the reception, they laughed at us and told us mice don’t go inside during winter which is exactly what they do. Not going back there again. The windows were single glass which made the cold come in the room and make us hear everything on the street.

Very small twin room and bathroom , clean and nicely kept. Good standard for Barcelona and better than hostels.

Good sized rooms and the staff were nice. However, no Aircon meant the room was absolutely baking. The windows were wedged ajar with pieces of wood so not child safe and outside was incredibly noisy. Avoid in summer or as a family.

Actually a quaint place in Amsterdam. They let me check in early and were very friendly. The bathroom and shower were shared. The room was quiet and nice open windows for a wonderful breeze. My only down side was I was on the 4th floor and no elevator. The steps are pretty steep and narrow. I would stay again and the rate was good for such a short notice.

Being a large person in a building built for much smaller people made bathroom experiences challenging. Steep and narrow stairways with heavy bags was also an adventure. A mini fridge would have been nice. You don't know what is important until you do not have it. To be fair large appliances would not fit up those stairs.

Everyone on the reception was super friendly. Location is also really great, as pretty much everything in Amstedam is nearby. There is also a tram stop just in front of hotel. WIFI works great. Rooms were clean and beds were nice. However, that's about the only thing that's good about the rooms. Floors on the hotel are extremely short, I've never seen anything like that. They are around 1.8 meters high. If you are tall, that isn't going to be good for you, and you will probably not be able to get shower at all. Staircase is very steep also, which in combination with low ceiling creates problems even for people that are not 1.8m high. View from free area is really nice, they also have 2 tables on balcony, where you are able to open large windows and basically look at street. Any problems we had (with entry card not working) were solved instantly. We still liked the stay, but if you are higher than 1.8m, search for something else, and also count this as a budget option hotel (we wanted to go as cheap as possible in short notice)

We had 2 rooms here. One room with 3 beds and the other room with two beds. The 3 bed room was small and cramped. I di get this is an old building and you can just knock walls down some worked with the space given. The room was the 2 beds was really spacious and look newer. The location is in a good spot as well. Not so loud at night but also walkable to the party and shopping areas. A nice hotel in an old building. Places like this you have to take with a gain of salt. I enjoyed our stay over all.

Be prepared! The hotel plays dead and take your money! There is no refund or change in booking due to Covid-19. They simply take your money and do not reply to any messages at all. It seems they taking advantage of the crisis because the stay were cancelled by the hotel and not by the travelers. In those cases there should be a refund!!
