Only one train stop away from Central Amsterdam, but located in a nice quite and relaxed environment. Hotel was ideal for us, the room was spacious with a lovely shower & the beds were extremely comfortable. My only fault would be the breakfast. The options were quite limited and very basic. The cutlery (plates, forks etc) were always gone for washing & because there was never enough plates it seemed as though they were washing them under a tap leaving the plates still dirty but ready for the public to use again, which in my opinion was unsatisfactory. There was always quite a rush to get in and out of the breakfast area as it was quite small and the staff seemed in a hurry to take your plates, to wash them and leave them back out again. Other then that our stay was really enjoyable.

Don't stay here. We stayed 12 nights at this hotel from 22 July - 4 August 2022. Day 1: We entered our room and there was quite a bit of hair on the sheet, the little pillows that are on bed for decor were dirty, the floors not cleaned properly. We told reception, changed rooms next day. Day 2: New room also not cleaned properly, window not possible to open (rude Sebastian at reception told us "it wouldn’t be normal to be able to open windows in hotels”). We insisted in getting a room where we can open the window. We changed rooms again after one night staying in this one. Day 3: New room, there is gum on sheet, hair on bed, dirty little pillows, blowdryer missing. Room service was ordered, bed made up (but not fresh bedding as requested) and fresh towels but not fresh cups (dirty ones were left as they were on side table, floors not cleaned etc. Day 4: We asked for full room service (incl. sheet change because of gum still, washed cups) - plus maintenance as water is blocked in sink. Again, room not properly cleaned again. So we gave up. Staying here for 12 nights and leaving 2500Euros at your hotel, we are shocked. The Urban Lodge Hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms in general need maintenance, the dirty walls need cleaning, most rooms have broken off hooks so you can’t hang your towels at all, the curtains have holes… It seems like no money is spend on maintaining this hotel. Also the display of breakfast and options are not 4 star either. The atmosphere is this if a rather cheap youth hostels. We had much (!!) better experiences at Amsterdam’s Conscious Hotel and Hotel Arena only a few weeks prior, so this was truly disappointing. I hope you get your ducks in a row as this is a real shocker!

Honestly do not understand the low reviews this hotel is getting. I'd agree if you booked a 5 start hotel in Dominican Republic or something.. but your going to Amsterdam! The staff here are amazing! Have massive patience considering some people you may get travelling there. They go out of the way on anything you need. I've seen the reviews about mould in rooms, smelling cannabis etc. It's Amsterdam. They are clearly people who don't know how ti enjoy themselves and have very unrealistic expectations. I was taken here for a surprise birthday. And honestly I would never book anywhere else when I go to Amsterdam again.. literally no fault at all. If your looking for a weekend away/ couple of nights. Or even more. Then do not listen to the stupid negative reviews. It's probably people just looking to get the money back!! Amazing place!! Can't wait to return! Thanks to all the staff!!!, Tom and ellie

The room was booked for a family of 3 adults and a child. The hotel provided a Normal room with 4 beds which made the room so small to move around. Time to change the towels. Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly at the reception and restaurant. WIFI is excellent. 5 min walk to the Train/Metro station. Supermarket near the Holiday Inn hotel near the station. The Flixbus station is near the station too.

Hotel seems nice from outside, definitely secure with 24-7 reception. Only issues I had was that the rooms / hotel seemed to have been built to a high level or specification and gradually overtime this hasn't been kept up and has resulted in the hotel becoming messy or unclean in places. My attached photos show the twin room we had booked but also a curtain that had large red / orange stains on it, the light fixture in the bathroom was broken, the remote was damaged and wasn't working great. A man on the reception counter was very helpful and respectful along with one other lady. If the breakfast was cheaper we would've had it every day ut didn't partake in the 16 euro per day fee and went to watts across the road. I recommend you don't visit them as their customer service isn't great for those who aren't from the country itself. Short 5 minutes walk to the train station and surrounding area isn't too bad for food or otherwise. 10 minutes or so train to amsterdam centraal at 5 euros there and return all day.

The hotel was fine and the employee were friendly. There are though many hygiene issues. The toilet seat had many disgusting stains. Indescribable!!! They said to us that everything was cleaned but those stains were kind of permanent and that they were going to replace the toilet seat soon with a new one. Whaaaat? When? Never happened while we were there. Of course they didn't give us 🙄 an other room...

My room was not up to the description on the website. In the room the TV was missing and the shower did not have any door so doing it we had water everywhere. The location is not well in terms of restaurant and pub/cocktail bar, but is very close to a metro station to get to the city center. On the other hand is close by to a famous place "the breakfast club".

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Urban Lodge Hotel, and I am delighted to share my positive experience with fellow travelers. The hotel's prime location, in close proximity to the station and just a single train ride away from Amsterdam Centraal, made it an ideal choice for my visit. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by an exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. Their commitment to providing outstanding service enhanced the overall quality of my stay. The professionalism and courtesy displayed by the hotel's team were truly commendable. One standout feature of my stay was undoubtedly the remarkable breakfast experience. I can confidently say that it was one of the best breakfasts I have enjoyed in European countries. The extensive variety of food choices exceeded my expectations, offering a delightful culinary journey. The hotel's lobby area further contributed to the overall positive impression. The beautifully designed and tranquil ambiance provided a perfect setting for relaxation and unwinding. It added an extra layer of comfort to the overall atmosphere of the hotel. I recommend this hotel for future guests seeking a memorable and convenient stay.

Rooms dirty, walls scuffed, beds never changed in 4 days. Shower covered in black mould. Have to go to reception to get a clean cup or a towel or even teabag. Tv no reception, aircon doesn't work. Wouldn't recommend. Close to train station to access city centre is only plus. You even have to wait at bar for reception staff to get served.

Great stay! Hotel is lovely, very modern & cosy! Staff very friendly . Room clean bed really comfy!! Only a short walk to train station 1 stop away from Amsterdam Central . Would definitely recommend & would stay here again.

Brilliant hotel, everything was great. Clean bedding, towels, etc. The important things was taken care of and an amazing location right near Sloterdijk station, a 6 minute journey to Centraal. The only improvement I would say is the floors are not cleaned/hoovered. When I arrived the hotel floor was quite dirty and had dried chocolate and other food crumbs. I let it slide, and thought the next day the room service would sort it, but they replaced all towels and bedding but just left the floor, so I assume this is standard there unless requested.

Stayed a few weeks ago in this hotel, can't fault the service, lady at reception was very welcoming and went through everything appropriately. The main downfall was the room. Our rooms window didn't close, which in December is not the most ideal scenario to be in as there was a breeze the majority of the night, albeit the black out curtains did block some of the cold out. When going to bed on the first night, my other half found a silverfish crawling around the bed side which really disgusted me. These things aside, the location is great and very easy to get into the central.

Hotel was clean and good value for money 6 minute train to central. The room was spacious and had good amenities (mini fridge, safe, shampoo conditioner shower gel , towels charger esc) €40 a night you can’t complain 3 days before Xmas ! They had a gym and bar downstairs but I can’t comment on this as I didn’t make use. 24 hour reception as well. Housekeeping are very helpful *Don’t forget you have to pay City tax when you arrive

Location is decent, close to the station which allows for only one stop to Cantraal. Customer service was amazing, the staff were really attentive and kind. However, while the room looked nice, on closer inspection things were broken and quite dirty. For example, the curtains were stained, there were silver fish on the walls, our toilet wouldn’t flush and even after it was fixed it still had issues with flushing, the bed sheet was not tucked and constantly came out which left us sleeping on the mattress. Our tv only had one channel, which wasn’t fixed until we requested several times for it to be done. There was also a constant moan from the pipes which made it seem like something was about to explode.

4 min away from the train station. The room was clean, check-in was easy. If your room is not ready, you can leave your luggage at the storage in the hotel. Everything was good, I liked the hotel.

The room was quite large and spacious with a huge, comfortable bed. They could work on soundproofing as we could hear some noise at night with people chatting in the corridor. The hotel staff were nice and friendly at reception however room service could improve on cleanliness as a the room was extremely dusty with all of the surfaces requiring a wipe down. The location is great since it is only a short walk to the train station and Spar supermarket.

Really close to the bus/metro/train station which is really handy. The room was clean and looked after daily whilst we were out exploring the city. Probably a couple of things that we didn't enjoy was that our bathroom did have a smell so it wasn't nice being there for a little longer and the room could have a little coffee machine or a kettle so you can enjoy a coffee/tea in the morning before you go exploring ☺️☺️

They overbooked us, and their best solution was to rebook us to a different hotel 15min drive on the other side of town and expected us to pay an extra 30€ for a taxi. The receptionist was smiling like if it's an everyday task for them. Hotels just got so used to doing this without realizing what a massive inconvenience it is. You're selling a product or service that you don't have in reality, that's called fraud.

Really friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were clean and tidy. It is in 7 min walk distance to station sloterdijk which connects you to central station and all others by bus, metro, train and bus. System for breakfast was bit weird that we need to register day before about breakfast time but it wasn't a problem. Overall it was quite nice stay for a family of 3.

About a 1 hour walk from the town centre. The hotel is ok. Rooms very small. The bathroom needs better extraction. The service I got was ok. The receptionists, more like summer staff, haven't got a clue

One of the nicest, friendliest & cleanest 4* hotel I've stayed in! The rooms are very clean, bed is very comfortable and massive. I highly would recommend staying here as it's only few minutes away from the train station that will take you anywhere you want in the city. Breakfast tastes good as well and the food is of decent quality and fresh! Only minor problem I had a couple of times was the hot food can sometimes be almost cold but not always. Definitely will be coming back in the future. ☺️

This was a great stay! The rooms were clean and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a recommendation for a lovely Italian restaurant nearby that was so good! The general atmosphere is very welcoming and warm and it’s just a few minutes away from the train and bus station that will take you back into the city. I highly recommend this place.

Great location near Sloterdijk train station - just 15 minutes to the airport (although a little confusing which platform to use). Friendly staff. Rooms could use a little refreshing. My shower didn't drain and was missing grout, etc. Decorations were cool. Fast wifi, but no Netflix on the TV.

Clean & convenient with very friendly staff! Used this hotel a a base to explore the Netherlands by bike. Easy walk to Sloterdijk train station and very easy access to many long distance cycle routes. By train only about 10 minutes to central Amsterdam. Very restful / peaceful compared to being in a downtown hotel. Very reasonable price for a clean, comfortable and relatively spacious room. Will definitely be my choice for future personal trips to Amsterdam.

Great hotel! The rooms were very clean, the people very nice, thanks! It's not so close to the city center by tram (maybe 20 minutes?) But by train it's very fast! Also very easy to come and to go to the airport (for me that's well located, maybe for other It isn't?)

The Urban Lodge Hotel is close to the Sloterdijk station, about a 5-10 minute walk. If you get a pass to ride all the trains and metro and buses then it's really easy to get anywhere you'd like from there, and it's definitely cheaper than staying in Amsterdam. The staff was super nice and helpful in fitting some of our unique needs. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The vibe of the hotel is in the name, a modern lodge basically and it was super cute.

Nice hotel with very cozy and modern decoration. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is good although not included. Location is not great, there is not a lot to see or do around.

Short walk to the train station and one stop into Amsterdam Central. Really nice hotel, staff are very friendly and generally lovely. Rooms are generous, clean and comfy. Great to chill in after a busy day in Amsterdam. I'd definitely stay here again.

  • 4/5 John C. 2 years ago on Google
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms with very comfy beds and great shower. Location was ideal as short walk to train station for airport and tram / bus station for heading in to Central Amsterdam. Only slight negatives were could have been bit more breakfast choice. Ours was included in price otherwise we wouldn't have paid what they were charging, and lack of English TV channels. Know it's not a massive deal but when you're relaxing after a long day or waiting for other half, good to find something half decent on!
