The location is perfect! It's right by Amsterdam central train station! You're near a lot of things! The service was great. My room was nice and clean and whenever I had a question the staff was super helpful. The rooms are a little small, so just be mindful of that. I'm a little so the size was fine, but it did get a little hot and I think that might be because of how small it was and I had a huge luggage.

NOT GOOD FOR SINGLES. The lower floors of this hotel and dark and rooms are tiny, sparse and only clean-ish. The windows are at the bottom of an air shaft and no light makes it down there. There is no view. I thought it would be fine, as the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. And I planned to spend all my daytime hours exploring the city. However the dark and dingy hotel room left me feeling incredibly depressed, like I wanted to sleep all day. The hotel staff was nice. There was a kettle and tea in the room. Linens and towels were good quality. TV and thermostat worked and the window could be opened. I liked the tiles in the bathroom and the rainfall shower head. But the bathroom was really tiny and flooded every shower (a squeegee or heated cables would help).

The hotel is well located and not much expensive. The staff are really generous. The single bedroom is really nice. However, some things are not really handy. For example, the light switches are near the bed's pillow, hence I sometimes unintended switch on the light during my sleep. At the moment I write this review, the breakfast is not free (cost 15 €) and is not a buffet, due to the covid measures. Hence, I recommend to first check nearby breakfast restaurant before buying the hotel's one as you can find cheaper somewhere else.

The room was spacious and it was clean. Simple amenities in the room but could it was all that was needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location and not too far walking distance from shops, cafes and restaurants. I would stay again and look forward to another visit here. Highly recommend!!!

Constructions inside and outside of the hotel, broken elevator, dirty sheets, cracking beds in 13 rooms 🚜👷‍♀️🔨🚧 I have been staying in this hotel for 7 nights and couldn’t relax because the renovation noises. I moved to different rooms in different floors to escape the noise, but it was still very loud. I have no problem that you’re improving your product/rooms but you should inform your guests before you capture any revenue from any booking website. I decided to write this review to help other travelers.

The hotel staff were super helpful and their English skills were excellent making our first stop feel easy and safe. We found the room to be well maintained, excellent shower although a weird shape without a curtain or door so water would go on the floor. They did provide extra towels which helped. We enjoyed the comfortable bed. It was in a great location to get to shops, sites to see etc., and easy to find with google maps.

I had noticed the hotel about possible delay with my flight, which did happen. So I got late to the hotel, and the host who attended was super rude and no empathy. He just wanted to complete the payment a get done with it. Always on the phone while attending me. Next, I moved rooms twice because of electrical mal functions within the room which kept me awake all night. Over all the hotel is good, has nice conditions, but not worth the money.

The room was small but had almost everything we needed (there was no fridge, which was disappointing). There was a hot water kettle in the room and some instant coffee and tea packets. There was an excellent waterfall shower. The breakfast was nice. It included some hot items like eggs, bacon, beans, sausage, etc as well as the usual pastries fruit, yogurt, etc.

All hotel personnel, from Reception, Cleaners to Breakfast-in-charge went above and beyond to make our stay safe, smooth and truly comfortable despite of current lockdown restrictions. Hands down to them 🙌 Hotel has a good proximity to public transpo, restaurants and attractions. I made the right decision to change into this hotel at the very last minute. The room is big and clean. Overall, good value for money. If I come back, I would choose this place again. Thank you Ibis 💕

Although it was difficult to find - the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were lovely and offered good advice of places to eat out and kindly held my luggage while I was out. I will definitely recommend it to friends visiting Amsterdam, even though the breakfast was cold and there was little hot water in the shower.

Pretty close from the train station, makes it pretty easy to access. They were all really nice at front desk they were very accommodating it’s pretty close from the red light día trip and bar area but distanced enough to be quite and safe

From our check-in to check-out we experienced very accommodating hospitality. Our bags were gladly stored, our early departure time was accommodated with breakfast before it officially opened, everyone was super friendly and genuinely engaged in their work.

I did a week's long trip around Europe with my girlfriend and we decided to make the Ibis Central Station the last hotel before our flight on the day after. If you are a light sleeper, please do not stay at this hotel given it's extremely noisy and faces the streets where the Tram goes through. Additionally, one of the guests at the hotel decided to smoke a cigarette at 12 am which triggered the emergency alarm at the whole property. I was not able to fall back asleep until 5 am and overall did not have a great experience when complaining to the front desk. I hope the managers would be sympathetic to guests and offer compensation for missing the basic principle of a hotel: to guarantee a safe and restful night to their guests.

The hotel was in a very good location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In the description it said city view and court house view, the room only had a courthouse view which wasn’t very flattering but I wasn’t in the room much. The bathroom is small but good enough. I would stay here again.

Not the best, but not the worst. We were there during the holidays so it was exceptionally busy. The hotel bar was closed most nights of our stay and while there’s a little “store” you can buy snacks and drinks, the water is very expensive compared to buying it at the store. We also ran out of toilet paper and had an exceptionally hard time getting more - staff at the front desk didn’t send anyone up despite being asked, phone to reception rang and no one picked up, finally I approached a woman cleaning other rooms who said she didn’t have any and walked away. I had to go down to another floor and find someone else cleaning to get it from. Not the best service but located very close to downtown.

Hotel is very near Centraal train station (about 250M walk) with lots of restaurants surrounding the hotel. Staff is friendly and greeted us with smiles and plenty of information; plus hotel provides free coffee / tea and water at lobby which is a plus. Room is not small by city standard, pretty IBIS standard setup which suites us well. The only 2 feedback is that the sound insulation is not that good and one can hear the tram passing by every now and then; the other is the aircon automatically resets itself when the room key is removed, we had to keep changing it back to heater mode when we enter the room. Buffet breakfast is average and we only had it for a day and decided to hop out for more varieties. Front desk staff (didnt register his name) was extremely helpful to assist us in arranging a private transport to Giethoorn for a day tour as the general tour was not avaiable on Thursday. A good hotel for those traveling to AMsterdam and want a hotel near the train station; I will be back for sure.

Me and my husband went to Amsterdam for 3 days and we are so happy that we decided to stay in this hotel. Even though it is a three star hotel, our experience in it was great. The room was clean and cozy with a canal view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One of our favorite things about it was how central the location is we were going everywhere walking. And you can have unlimited Free tea and coffee at the reception all day long :) if we ever go back to Amsterdam we will definitely stay in it again. We felt our moneys worth there!

Our room was horrible, smelled terrible, there were some disgusting stains on the wall, lights flickering, and the bathroom flooded every time one of us took a shower. We could hear everything from the nearby rooms and the hallway; I could barely sleep. There was something wrong with the electrical wiring, I am not an expert, but it looked dangerous to me. Also, I noticed some light switches near the bed, right behind the... pillows. I turned the lights on by mistake and didn't know how... then I saw them. I will avoid this place in the future.

Great location around 300 meters from Amsterdam Centraal train station. Very hospitable staff. I had a pretty small room but it was good enough for one. A small bathroom when you take a shower the whole bathroom floor is wet.

Small hotel for a weekend stay in Amsterdam. Has an amazing location for exploring Amsterdam and takes just a few minutes to walk to the Dam. Trams are also nearby and easy to use if you want to go somewhere further in the city. Walking is not a problem if you don't mind sore feet! The rooms where very clean, but a bit cramped. Thats to be expected given the location, but the beds were warm and cozy nonetheless. Staff was very kind, and the prices were great. Would definitely stay here again!

Really nice place and nice staff. Small rooms for the money but hey you’re right there in the middle of everything so it’s worth it. The only thing that spoils it is the noise from the street (hence 2 stars). It’s a big intersection for trams so they are rolling through all the time, also screaming drunk people etc. if you aren’t used to noise at night and you want a good sleep here, I don’t recommend it.

My partner and I enjoyed our time here. It can be very stressful when travelling but thanks to the friendly staff it made things very pleasant. Comfortable bed and nice large shower. Price was quite reasonable too. Also thank you for the luggage storage. Would recommend

Lovely hotel. Very friendly welcome from staff. Good location and there was a lovely view of a church. The WiFi was a little bit slow for me but probably fine for most people.

A really bad hotel. I would not recommend it. Small rooms, old furniture, old bed sheets, dirty old carpet, super small restroom. Loud from the outside I could barely sleep, not such good matraces. Overpriced for what they offer! Tiny beds, the safe was not working.... And the most annoying thing it doesn't look at all like the their pictures on the website!!! Don't get fooled!! It's photoshopped 💯!! They should not be allowed by law to fake the photo of the rooms.

Spent 2 nights with my son in the city staying in Ibis. Very comfortable room, albeit slightly small for a twin room. Bed linen, towels, etc spotless. Very comfortable, cozy sleeps. Ideal for just a couple of nights. Perfectly situated to walk around the city. Very good customer service with pleasant staff.

Ibis standards not met. Actually worst Ibis I ever stayed. Broken TV. Flooding in bathroom every single time you taking a shower. Air con does not work (but heater has been provided) Quite dirty room with used facemasks(!!!) under the bed - yeah who cares. Feels like hostel to be honest.

Staff were friendly and the price good for a central hotel. However my room (111) which had an amazing view looking over the station was so loud with the trams, bring ear plugs. Also and unfortunately the fire alarm went off several times around midnight and then at 3am two strangers came into my room; they were given the wrong room key by reception. This is why I’ve given 2 starts.

Great cost benefit. Perfect size room, good bathroom and shower too. And perfect location next to the center and Amsterdam Centraal Station

  • 5/5 Michael S. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms a little on the small size, but very clean. The staff from the reception to the breakfast to the cleaners the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered. Hotel very central for train, metro and tram transport. Will return one day, we hope.

Imagine getting to a hotel at 9:30pm when they have a 4pm check-in and the front desk tells you that your room isn’t ready…you and easily a dozen other guests! They offered a free drink…no, we shouldn’t pay for 4pm to the noon checkout if we can’t check into our room until after 10pm. After the first person told me repeatedly that there was nothing he could do, the manager came over and miraculously, rooms were very much ready and available for many of us to get checked in. The location is perfect. The rooms are exactly what they say they are…the point isn’t that you’re in your room; so, it wasn’t bad at all.

Warm welcome by the front desk. Great location. Just 5 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal. Breakfast was good. More importantly, the restaurant staff, Schubert and Hanna were very friendly and attended to our needs. A big thank you...

If all you need is basic sleeping arrangements for your short trip to Amsterdam, this is a very good choice. Clean place, friendly staff, and it won't break your budget either. I recommend asking for a room up high, or at the back of the hotel to ensure minimum street noise. The location is perfect, in walking distance to everything you'd want to see and do in De Wallen. There are sidewalk cafes and bars on both sides of Ibis Styles as well.

Purely leaving this review because of the 1 star pillow. These pillows are just not normal, nowhere in Europe have I experienced such a high pillow. I asked for a pillow that was close to normal height and was given toweles. The hotel and staff itself are amazing but the pillows are just weirdly tall. If you like a normal pillow then stay elsewhere.

Good sized, clean rooms with updated bathrooms. Fantastic location really close to Centraal station. We arrived early in the morning on the day of our check in and they let us check in with no extra charge - that's fantastic service! Housekeeping were efficient and did a great job. We would happily return here.

Nice clean rooms. Up to date. Helpful staff. Make sure to put down your floor towel when showering or you will flood the bathroom. Great location to explore downtown Amsterdam.

I went to the ibis hotel for 3 nights everything was fine, I did like the food. It was my first trip on my own without family or my husband. I would recommend the hotel if you are with company because of the location, but solo is a no go. But when I went to the toilet downstairs after going out, a man from the hotel lobby was banging on the door yelling for me to come out. Mind you I was on the toilet. He kept yelling at me through the door and I replied why and no. Then he told me to come out or he would open the door. I was very scared was left speechless by the whole situation. I as a woman felt very intimated by a man banging on the bathroom door. I heard him moving the latch before I came out. I immediately walked out in shock, with him basically hunting me out. Worst customer service ever. I was even scared to come back and came back later on when he wasn’t inside anymore. After that, my trip was basically ruined because I was scared to come back into the lobby. Truly shocking.

We had to move rooms after the first night as the person in the room next to us reached record-breaking levels of snoring. Both the night staff and day staff were understanding and accommodating, and happy to move us no question. The rooms were light, bright, modern and clean. Good selection at breakfast.
