Absolutely terrible, perhaps the worst pasta I ever had. No flavor, poor seasoning, extremely bland. The red sauce turned out super watery, I couldn’t even finish my plate from how bad it tasted. I dont know what was worse, the food or the service. I was confused when the waiter brought my dish as it was not what I was expecting and he mockingly responds “You don't remember what you ordered?”. When I asked for the bill he didn’t even allow me to select the currency on the terminal when paying with my card. Horrible horrible horrible, doesnt even deserve 1 star. Eat somewhere else you won’t regret it.

best food and service of our holiday by far, it was 7pm ish, trying to find somewhere for dinner that wassnt busy and this place only had one other person in it, the staff were lovely and the food was truly amazing. the starters a huge portions so keep that in mind.

This cafe is one of the best in Asmterdam City! The waiters were really nice and helpful! We will be back at Royal 98! We love you and your coffee beans :D thank you so much for the nice memories <3

We just came here for drinks. It was ok. The drinks are just plain with overly high price. We will not return. It was one time last time for me.

The decoration is top notch, the food, and particularly the pastries, is very good. The service was quite slow but very friendly, overall we had a nice lunch there. Strange thing that we had to request water twice before we got some.

Nice service and good Italien food. The location is really nice and the prices are fair. Unfortunately we had to wait a little bit for our food so only 4 stars.

Lovely polite staff, cute little place. My friends liked the pasta. Knocked a star off as the pizza I had was really floppy, and the tomato sauce was a bit watery. Also a bit weird. Coffee was nice, but the mugs don't have handles, my friend couldn't pick up his mug for a while due to the heat!

We were here for lunch. A very nice waiter upon arrival. First he asked us about drinks and gave us a wine tasting to choose 🍷. Next, we had a delicious plate with cheeses and hams🧀🥓. Then the main dishes - pasta with basil pesto, mushrooms and chicken - absolutely delicious and a large portion 🍝🍗. The next meal was a rich pizza like from Italy🍕. The staff gave us 110% from start to finish and we have nothing to complain about. An excellent Italian restaurant with a beautiful interior in the center of Amsterdam. Thank you and I will continue to recommend 🙏☺️🇳🇱

The pasta is highly recommended. The pizza is good but can be more hot. The service and environment is nice. There is no many customers when i come at non-peak time at 1130am.

Mostly disappointing. We arrived at 19 o'clock sharp and got our table. Ordered a beer and a coca cola zero. The service was quick and polite. The beer was tiny with tones of Belgian yeast. We had ordered the sea bass. It was beautifully presented and well prepared. Both tast and texture was as expected. The two glasses of dry white wine turned up at the table as one glass of something sweet. The time passed by as we tried to order desserts. It got quite unpleasant after a while. Guess the staff was occupied somewhere else. Rather boring I would say. We were dreaming of the perfect tiramisu and wondered if the staff ever would be available? Finally we managed to stare them to the table and get the order trough. The tiramisu was premade as expected. The soggy texture lacked any tast of marsala wine. Why bother when you can't make it right. The only crunch was in the chocolate sticks. Guess none of the staff has ever been to Italy and the sommelier is totally absent. There is a long way to go before the menu are perfect. A totally waisted evening except for the fish.

Had a delicious meal in lovely surroundings. There was only one waiter on duty who was very efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My favorite people-watching brunch spot. Right in front of Dam Square. Amazing porn-star martinis and pizza… also ricotta pancakes? Yes please! Beautiful views and the best and most amazing staff!

Royal 98 is a great place to stop for a bite to eat or to enjoy a coffee and watch the passersby. Friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Close to Amsterdam Central station.

Everything was tasty, fresh, and things were keep coming. Really nice waiters and personnel. Highly recommended.

Very rude waiter (was an old man). Table was not cleaned after the previous customers left and when we asked to clean it, we were lied about it that it was clean. We ordered the veg pasta which was undercooked and so barely could eat it. Extremely disappointed with the service and food, regretted choosing this place to dine in. I do not recommend this place, it would be your waste of time and money.

A nice place in Dam square we went there for coffee and the next day for dinner. We were pleased except the waiter who became persistent. The place is a good choice if you are in Dam Square!!

We ordered 3 things from the menu, they forgot to bring one so we had to ask. Meanwhile I had to wait so that my husband will get his food too. Not very nice, and it was on a very low capacity in the restaurant. BUT the food was very very good !

Was legitimately surprised by how good the service is, since the Dutch tend to need to be flagged down vs coming by the table. I never thought I’d enjoy a side salad so much. Also the panini I ordered was phenomenal, the mozzarella is fresh and to die for.

Near the Amsterdam central station. Very good for people watching. Very cozy. Had the seabass. Well seasoned and pan fried with lightly stir fried vegetables. Reasonable price among burger and steak places.

One of the worst service Ive had at a restaurant. Forgot our order and promised that would fix quickly. However had to wait for further extended time to get the food. Our drink order were also forgotten. After receiving the glass of white wine the waitee came 3 times with another glass of white wine that we did not order. Had to ask three times for the coctail order which came approx 1 hr later. Food was average+ grade but service one of the worst Ive experienced.

Only giving 2 stars because the food really was delicious. The service sucked though, when we just sat down we ordered drinks. Later we ordered our food and after that, no one came to our table anymore or even made eye contact. Because they didn’t even look at us we had to eat our food without drinks. We had pizza’s and a burger so pretty salty and we got thirsty, but after we finished eating still no one came to our table. We wanted to order drinks and dessert but just ended up asking for the bill when someone finally paid attention to us.

Only been living here for 6 months, but definitely has got to be the best ravioli in Amsterdam! 👌 Lovely, warm vibe inside, too. The staff were very friendly and it's nestled quietly in the hustle and bustle of Dam Square.

While the food was good, the service by one particular waiter was terrible until another by the name of "Duniya" wonderfully stepped in to assist after a 40 min delay in which our order was made but never put in. The original waiter couldn't even tell us the seasonal beer and didn't bother to ask. The table next to us also had to have items removed that they never received and several guests sat and left before any service was offered. My 4th visit to the city and given the complete change in service quality with a new waiter this was inexcusable.

Went for lunch. It is quite expensive, so we expected decent food. There was very little on the plates, for example 4 slices of salami on a big double bun. One of the plates was different compared to the menu, when telling the Dutch older waiter, we didn't get any reaction to it apart from 'oh'. A pricey place with food not meeting the expectations, and bad service.

Went as a group for an evening meal, plenty of choice including for the vegetarians in the party. The staff were really friendly and the service was quick. The food was great too, good size portions and really tasty.

Writing this as I eat because it is that good!!! Atmosphere, food, and service are all a 10/10+.

I ate there my first time and the food was delicious very nice staff and a good price. It doesn’t look good from the outside but great inside. It’s very cozy and warm!

Came here for dinner with friends. Friendly staff, but very slow service. My friends ordered the burger and when it came, there were no chips or salad on the side which was unexpected as we weren’t informed of this, especially for the price of the dish.

Got invited to this place. Eventhough the place was empty, it took a lot before our starters came and it took even longer before we got our pizza's. We were with a big group, but that's no excuse. The food was really tasty and warm, so maybe I come here again sometime.

Nice venue but terrible coffee and bad croissant. Had ham and cheese cooked inside which I thought was cool, but when I tried it, the filling wasn’t spread well and there wasn’t much ham at all. Wouldn’t come back here for breakfast.

After the first time eating here we just had to come back for a second time. The cosy ambiance, excellent Italian food and the amazing hostess made us feel right at home. We tried the pizza margarita, vegetarian pasta and the mozzarella salad which were absolutely delicious! They have a great wine selection and give good advice as to what works with what dish. The hostess recognised us from the first time which was incredible in itself, and she also made the evening very memorable by being such a nice and welcoming person. We are definitely coming back and very much looking forward to it!
