Absolute fantastic!! There are pancake shops all over. If you want a pancake in Amsterdam, come here. It's a tiny shop with just a few tables. Lots of options, including sweet and savory. I had the Dutch Delight: gouda and fig jam pancake, heavenly! Light dough and fresh ingredients and super friendly staff.

Heard about this place from one of my friends but I was unsure what to get. I followed one of the pancake recommendations but still was unsure, I ended up asking the employee what was the best. She said if I was looking for something savory, go with the Orient Express, for something sweet, the Dutch Delight. I wanted something savory so I chose the Orient Express which was a pancake with gouda cheese, tomatoes, and spicy hot cilantro sauce. I wish the pancake put more sauce, the tomatoes just overpowered the whole thing. Overall there isn't too much seating inside, maybe for about 15.

Served in a unique tray form, the pancakes are cut and easy to eat in small mouth sized bites. We ordered the “Build your own pancake”, and had gouda cheese and bacon and another with chocolate sauce and bananas. There was too little gouda cheese, so the flavours didn’t come across more strongly.

Was recommended to visit THE HAPPY PIG on a dating site chatting to a great looking torso. So they didn't show, but the food was worth the ghosting. Great service. Had the tradition pancake with bacon and spicy cilanto sauce (could be more spicy, but the I know Europe struggles with handling heat), a fresh waffle with traditional apple topping, don't be stingy like me and fork out exstra for whipped cream on top and a well made cappuccino.

Absolutely delicious pancakes! Great selections of toppings to choose from. We had the Chef's special vegan savory oriental pancake and a sweet vegan nutella pancake. We were able to get a high table inside but might be difficult to find seating during busy hours. Has some outdoor bench seating. The cherry on the (pan)cake - the long rectangular plates for the pancakes seemed to be compostables!

The pancakes there are really good! They have a big menu with many options: from traditional savory to vegan sweet pancakes! Also they have many milk alternatives with is great. The stuff who works there is really friendly and they help you choose a pancake. Inside it’s very sweet. Only minus point is that they don’t a toilet but you have many other options in the city! ;)

The perfect marriage of a pancake and a crepe with amazing toppings. One day, this dessert will find its way to the US and we’ll all be better for it. Until then, definitely give this place a try if you’re in Amsterdam!

The Happy Pig is a very cute pancake shop located centrally in Amsterdam. Yummy savory or sweet pancake dishes - unfortunately, very little space to sit down inside with a few benches outside. Perfect for a pit stop when shopping around or doing your sightseeing.

I’m in pancake frenzy now, I’m here for one day layover and I’ve tried pancakes from two different places in just one day. This one more like a crepe than typical American pancakes, still this is the real thing. I ordered a pancake with Gouda. It was warm, moist and so good. €11 in total well worth it. forget about dieting for couple days indulge in this beauty.

Extra plus to the service. Very attentive. Looks like family business. Not a place to warm up yourself on rainy days. Super tasty vegan pancakes

The Happy Pig is tiny pancake place that offers a wide range of freshly made pancakes filled with goodies and topped with vegan whipped cream or other sauces. When I arrived it was packed! Seating accommodates for about 10 adults, but there are only three tables, so if you're on your own like I was, you'll probably want to sit outside on their bench and gobble down your pancake. I found the thin, narrow cardboard container the pancake is rolled, cut and placed in is a unique way of serving the food. Good idea! My server was bright and courteous with a welcoming smile and a willingness to help. I absolutely love this, because good service costs nothing and gets good reviews from people like me! 👍 It is a tight fit while you wait for your food, but my server brought it directly to me. She didn't call my number and waited behind the counter- she walked up to me, smiled and handed me my food. This is how you serve customers. Nothing over the top or phony, just ensuring a good customer experience. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. And being vegan, there were ample options, so fret not, fellow animal lovers - you're covered! As for portion sizes, I gobbled my one up completely because I hadn't eaten lunch and only had a small breakfast, but if you were getting one for brunch or a snack, you could easily share one with a friend or your partner. I feel like The Happy Pig is in a perfect location, too. I'd suspect they'd get quite a few patrons of the coffeeshop directly opposite their business come across after their smoke to satisfy a case of the muncheeeees! The Happy Pig is a solid A. 👌

Delicious pancakes and waffles! Seating arrangements is definitely an issue because it’s a small place but worth paying a visit. Friendly staff too. Highly recommended.

When you order waffle from The Happy Pig Pancake Shop, don’t expect the traditional American waffle. You’ll be greeted with different type of waffle, at least when it comes to the shape. The delicious “long” waffle is something to try when you are visiting Amsterdam. This place is quaint and elegant located right next to the river.

Found this place by accident but would highly recommend you adding it to your list! Pancakes were freshly made at time of ordering, limitless options! We had one savory and one sweet and they were immense! Prices slightly on the higher side but in my opinion worth every penny!

Really nice place to try some Dutch waffles with our own customised toppings. They taste really good even though I felt it a bit too sweet!! We chose a lot of toppings and each and every topping costed us extra which I felt was a bit expensive in the end!! Otherwise worth a try for what it takes!!

Really small place in which there were just few tables and where prices were not so low. I took a banana pancake with whipped cream and a cappuccino (11€) and I was lucky to find a table. In the end the cappuccino was not so bad while I struggled to finish the pancake.

Fantastic little pancake cafe away from the main touristy area. We went in the morning and it wasn't really busy and easy to get a chair. I got a banana pancake with honemade caramel sauce and whipped cream and it was delicious! Iced latte was just the right drink to go with it. Highly recommended to anyone wanting pancakes and coffee

I wanted to sample some of the local pancakes and this place did vegan and gf options so my partner could also partake without being in pain later. There’s only about 11 seats in the place, which seemed to be just about enough for the rhythm of customers on a Friday at around 2pm, but this isn’t a place where you would be able to linger, because there will be other tourists waiting for you to vacate your seats as soon as you put the last bite of pancake in your mouth. I was really hoping this experience would satisfy our local-cuisine-based desires, but in all honesty, they taste like any crepe you can get basically anywhere in Europe. That’s not really a reflection on The Happy Pig in particular though, just an observation about dutch pancakes. What was different is that they made it rather easy to eat. Sometimes eating a pancake off a paper plate with wooden cutlery can be a little difficult, but in The Happy Pig they rolled the pancake and chopped it into perfect bite sized rounds. It was then served in a perfectly shaped, long rectangular tray. Over all, very tasty and a perfect quick lunch to break up a day of mooching around shops. My partner got a black coffee along with his pancake and said "it was a solid coffee, wasn't too bitter, wasn't too sour". The chocolate sauce I had on my pancake was rich, I wish I’d have got whipped cream too because it looked tasty, with three generous peaks of cream per pancake. This is also the perfect place for people watching and eves dropping. One of the staff members threw an orange up in the air and caught it a few times. Two Australian tourists had an enthralling yet rather bland conversation about some people they know who are in a band or something.

Visiting Amsterdam with my wife, we saw this place when we were looking for Chun. Holy moly this place is good 😊 I recommend the orient express, that's the perfect savory breakfast. The chefs special was also quite good! Ended up eating here twice on our short time in Amsterdam 😅

We loved the food! There is limited seating here but it is not a problem with how you food is prepared. The pancakes are awesome. I got the apple filling in mine and it was to die for. The owner was very nice and accommodating.

It was my first time trying Dutch pancakes and this place was recommended to me by my friend. I cannot say pancakes themselves are very special (the fact i am coming from Russia where we have a big culture of pancakes affects my experience!) but the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful, pancakes are ready in few minutes and they are certainly excellent pancakes. Nothing more, nothing less, I was just expecting “Dutch pancakes” being different from Russian ones.

Very tasty pancakes, with a cute presentation. The shop is small but nicely maintained. We tried the vegan nutella banana with whipped cream, worth the hype!

Good pancakes, but we would have loved finding a more traditional pancake style as well (the small typical ones). Yet those are tasty and easy to eat as they are rolled and precut. On roll is enough for two people if you just want to try and are not so hungry; the dark chocolate is very good chocolate!

Cozy, small Café with super nice staff and very tasty pancakes and waffles - the coffee is great too! They also have a variety of vegan choices, for the coffee as well. If you're spending time in Amsterdam, definitely a great place to have breakfast!

pancake with strawberries was ok - but nothing more than that. Coffee way overpriced- EUR 3.60 for a tiny flat white in a paper cup! Owner was quite grumpy and had a go at me when I asked for extra butter- and then he discussed acid reflux with another client while we ate - gross!

The sweet crepe was delicious! The ham crepe could have used some more flavor to it but otherwise both were really delicious and would love to eat there again!

nice food but terrible service. I rushed there to order a plain waffle after my job, arrived 12 minutes before they closed and the guy told me to come back the next day. It says they close at 18:00 but they send customers away at 17:48. Very disappointing.

Can I give you 6 stars somehow? I still daydream about the pancakes I had here, worth every penny. The menu lets you choose as you please and has many many options. I actually tried to visit twice in one day but they ran out of supplies and closed... Next trip to Amsterdam, this is the first place I'm visiting.

Their vegan pancakes are simply amazing. Really tasty, super nice fillings and sauces and a fair amount of food for the price (considering you are in the heart of a capital city). Unfortunately they only have disposable plates which have to be thrown away afterwards but at least they are recycled.

It’s very good 👍 give a try but don’t expect the best waffle of your life. Salted caramel it’s amazing and everything homemade… but almost 6€ for one it’s expensive for me… you could it’s easily 2 😜 In resume try one and keep enjoying Amsterdam

Texture of the pancake was really nice. I had the spicy sauce on the inside. Maybe the sweet ones will taste better. Savory was ok. 7/10

Lovely little pancake place in the centre of Amsterdam. The shop is little, cozy & the personnel is friendly and nice. Pancakes are very good and tasty.🥞 Quality/price ratio is good compared to more famous places. Definitely recommended!

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why.
