Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Wasn’t expecting much but it exceeded all expectations. It’s a hotel with some dormitories and we stayed in a private triple room with our own bathroom. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were spotless clean, towels can be obtained from reception but we brought our own. Only let down was the shower but it did the job. 24 hour reception who are helpful, downstairs in the lobby is a bar with a pool table and outside is a terrace with seating which is nice. Location is as central as it gets. Overall very happy with our stay and would stay again.

Monday, November 20th, 2023. 14.00hs. WORST ATTENTION EVER !! Today I received the worst service from the front desk that I ever had. I had a shared room, when me and my friend went inside of it, there where to men at 2 pm afternoon, drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes inside the room. It smelled really bad, I do not smoke and I’m asthmatic, so cigarettes are really bad for my health. I went to talk to receptionist to see if there was any chance of changing rooms, explaining her all my health issues, and she directly kicked us out of the hostel. She said, if you don’t want to sleep there you can have back your money and leave. We got kicked out because somebody else was doing something wrong. Also the girl was super rude, she didn’t want to give her name, and was really disrespectful with all these situation.

If I could give this less stars I would. The only positive is that the beds were clean. Staff seemed lifeless and worn down, we originally planned to be in Amsterdam but couldn't put up with the smell of pee in the streets and the insane crowds. Staff were unconcerned with trying to refund any money. Security existed but was pretty lax, rooms were sweltering hot, the mattress was as thin as piece of paper, the only way to get air in the room was to leave the window open but that let in the sounds of the crowds until 4am. The other hostel people were okay, young and loud and pretty inconsiderate of the other people sleeping, but that's not the establishments fault. Overall, if your young and want to party this is fine, but if you want to enjoy amsterdam, stay far away from this side of town.

Fairly hot during summer on the upper floors, may hear other rooms or corridor noise through the walls but was fairly quiet in the night. Very good location due to being right next to red light district. Good for a few nights stay and mainly just for a sleeping spot in the centre of town. Bar was unfortunately under renovation. Food was ok, the wine was awful. We took few glasses of few wines and it felt like someone forgot all the bottles opened overnight. Pasta was mediocre, I was expecting more from an Italian place. The staff wasn't attentive, the guy that was with us didn't want to recommend or had the patience to be with us. The view is nice if you sit next to the window, the restaurant looks nice.

This hostel was well worth the budget price. Being located right in the Red Light District makes most of Amsterdam super accessible. There’s a bar on the main floor with indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms and showers seemed pretty clean. Only main issue was that wifi did not really reach up to the top floor.

The location is outstanding. You can reach every touristic point of Amsterdam on foot. The bike you can rent will help you at other points. The room we shared was good in terms of space, they do not have lockers big enough for carry ons or bigger luggage but the room is big enough to fit them near your bed. Showers and toilets keep looking clean all time and staff was pretty friendly with only one exception, the guy who cleans in the morning will go to the room one hour prior check out and open curtains to wake everyone up, make noise and everything to make you know your have to leave. The person at the reception was really rude to us all the time, we went earlier to leave our luggage and she made us leave right after in a really bad way (we were just taking the things we needed from our bags) Then we checked in and there were people smoking and drinking inside the room, we asked to change rooms and the answer was: "we don't have any other room I'll check you out" (she didn't even check anything or look for a solution) so we complained about people smoking inside and she kicked US OUT, she even said at first "oh, smoking is not allowed" but decided to not say anything to the ones actually doing it. The hotel lies on a great location, and it seems that is the only thing it has going for it. The staff, while nice, are incredibly slow, there is a weird identification process when entering the hotel. The room we got had no window that went outside, only to another hallway. There is no shower booth in the bathroom, you just shower in the middle. We were also charged some extra fees upon check in that were not mentioned before.

Fabulous location and view from window! The room was great for our group of 7 and we had no issues at all. Good Coffee shop across the canal as well. Definitely recommended if you are planning a couple of nights in Amsterdam.

Top pub! So glad my buddy told me about this place a decade ago... Happy hour is now 7 days a week between 3-4 & 7-8pm (€5.80 for 2x pints of Stella & €6 for 2 pints of Bud). Pool table €2 which is normal Amsterdam price. Personally I preferred the place when it was a s-hole but it is so much nicer nowadays. Only 4 stars now cause they used to have proper crisps like Quavers, Monster Munch, Hula Hoops & also Lucozade............ Miss them ;)

I only used it to sleep at night (I’d leave by 9:00 and return after 22:00), and this was the perfect place for that sort of use. The guys at the reception were nice but we got an issue with the asian guy in the staff. He entered in our room (we were a group of 9, out of 10 beds, last one was empty) on the morning without knocking to shout at us with a barely comprehensive english. When we went at the reception to complain about his behavior, they stood behind him despite the fact he was clearly wrong. That said, the barmans and waiters were very friendly and they have a very nice terrasse outside next to the canal. Would recommend but please do something with this guy
