I recently visited Sukhothai Thanee located in the center of Amsterdam, and it was a fantastic experience. While I have a soft spot for their Beef Stew in Massaman Curry, every dish, from the Crispy Sea Bass to the Grilled Ribeye in Panang Curry, burst with authentic Thai flavors that transported me back to Thailand. The Mango Sticky Rice for dessert was a sweet finale that perfectly complemented the savory dishes. The attentive and friendly staff enhanced the dining experience, and the chic and elegant interior added to the overall ambiance. In conclusion, Sukhothai Thanee is a hidden gem for those seeking fine dining with authentic Thai cuisine in Amsterdam. With each dish crafted with care and attention, it is a culinary journey you won't want to miss.

What a great Thai restaurant! I have been in the restaurant to eat really good Thai food. The service is very friendly and proactive. The food is very yummie and I can recommend the menu. I wish the owner, master cook all the best for the future. For the once who have not been there: you should go. Thank you for having me as a guest. I will come back.

The amuse bouche was a nice refreshing start. We had the fishcakes and satay as starters. Sadly the fishcakes weren’t to our taste (just a personal preference). The satay was very good tho! We also had shrimp green curry and beef stew curry, which they both were so delicious! They were very rich and flavorful. At last we had the mango sticky rice, which is now one of my new favorite desserts! It’s a must try! The service could have been more attentive, as we had to keep trying to get the waiters attention.

In course of a business trip we were nearby and we found this lovely thai restaurant. Building is a bit older but inside it's lovely atmosphere and you will be welcomed by a nice and even funny waiter who explained very competent what we can expect. Food was lovely and tasty, we ordered the street food menu which includes starters several main dishes and dessert. Price wise 50EUR per person - it felt like a fair deal with several surprises and different spices. You won't leave the restaurant hungry and it has been a great dinner. Bottom line great hospitality, great authentic, great people.

Overall, Sukhothai Thanee offers a great fine dining experience. The staff are very friendly and will explain everything you need to know about the dish you order. Furthermore, the restaurant is very clean, spacious, and offer an authentic Thai vibe/mood. Lastly, the food. The food is very fresh and offers a very authentic Thai taste. I would say that Sukhothai Thanee is, by far, the most authentic Thai restaurant in Amsterdam! This place is good for anything: company dinner, birthday dinner, date night etc. Highly Recommend!!

Highly recommended restaurant to visit. Went there with friends that are regulars and it quickly became clear why they wanted us to experience it. High quality food with plenty variety that is given to you by friendly staff. We took the chefs menu to have a larger amount of dishes to try and it did not disappoint. While it is a bit pricier than the average Thai restaurant they do provide extra value.

This was a wonderful dining experience. The food was truly incredible… you can tell each dish is delicately prepared, authentic, and delicious. The portion sizes were perfect. Service was excellent and genuine. It’s a lovely atmosphere with a cozy, classy vibe. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and even the acoustics seem to be well thought out to allow for a hushed dining experience. It will be difficult to go to another Thai restaurant after this… the bar has truly been set.

Wonderful service and one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Very authentic, reminded me of the food I had in Thailand. Don’t expect to find the typical pad Thai, pad gra pow here. Instead, you’ll find other amazing local dishes- try as many as you can, you won’t be disappointed!

Highly recommend. The food here is not what you think of when it comes to typical Thai food in Amsterdam (or most of europe), however you will not be disappointed. The menu has a great variety, we had multiple courses picked several different dishes for each - and since it is sharing style this was even better to try everything. The staff is very helpful in explaining the dishes & flavors. The food was great, I tasted curries like never before and all the ingredients were fresh. The staff was excellent. Friendly and attentive. All together, we very much enjoyed this unique & memorable restaurant!

I recommend Sukhothai Thanee as a real hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Thai cuisine. The food is freshly cooked by a real Thai chef. The flavours are rich, authentic, and will transport you straight to the streets of Bangkok. Whether you're a fan of traditional Thai dishes, or more adventurous ones, the menu has something for everyone. Last but not least, the lovely ambience and the welcoming staff will make the whole experience even better.

A small entrance, discreetly furnished restaurant, friendly and very good, friendly and calm service. As someone who has eaten a lot of Thai food in Thailand (North and South) and all over the world, I can confirm that the flavors and dishes are authentic. I would like to emphasize that the spiciness level is also authentic: if you are always Europeanized Thai food, you will learn here what spiciness is actually normal for Thai food. I loved it. I can recommend this restaurant to everyone and will be back again. Thank you for the good experience!

Delicious meal beautifully served in a lovely room. It was my birthday the day before but due to Eurostar breaking down we were a day late in celebrating. The restaurant was so welcoming and even supplied a huge birthday candle ! A great place for our special occasion. Fine dining Thai cuisine

Tucked away little gem of a restaurant and so worth it. Coming from the Pacific Nw where delicious Thai food is abundant I was craving something spicy and this place did not disappoint. The waiters were both awesome and made me feel so welcomed. Food was exceptional, and very creative. Highly recommend!

Everything about this place is fantastic!!! One of the best meals I had in Amsterdam. Better than many fine dining places in Amsterdam. The wait can be really long for the food but it is totally worth it. Ordered the chicken satay, the prawn and pomelo salad, the lobster yellow curry and the orawn green curry. Every dish was bursting with flavours. Top notch! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Certainly the best Thai food in Amsterdam, and probably the Netherlands. Delicious and authentic. They don't pull any punches with the spiciness, so ask if you are faint of heart. Very kind and helpful service.

Tips you need to know before dining here ⭐️they change the menu every several months, so what you found in recommendation might be not on the menu ⭐️it’s an authentic Thai restaurant, which means the (most) dishes are Spicy 🌶. And believe me, you can get MORE spicy dishes in Thailand, so if you don’t like spicy or you can only eat a little bit spicy, thinking about it before you go ⭐️Starters Personally I like fish cakes and moo satay the most. I’ve heard moo satay is their new dish for this season, the satay sauce is with rich peanut aroma and a bit spicy, I even think it’s very creamy. ⭐️Som tam green papaya salad I’ve never thought a salad can contain so many rich flavors! You can taste sweetness, spicy, crunchy (peanuts and papaya), and sourness ⭐️main dishes I just want to say these curry dishes are amazing. But little tips for how to choose less spicy dishes: green curry is the least spicy one, yellow curry is usually with the seafood and its creamy (I think). The red ones are the most spicy It’s a little bit pricy but you can have a good experience as if you were in Thailand. The owners are very welcoming.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
