tl;dr: inviting. Tasty breakfast. No cash 😍 Dropped by for breakfast before leaving Amsterdam to go back home. As someone who lives in Germany, I can't help but grin at places here with "cards only" signs, and hope it can somehow gain traction back home. I looked at the menu online before coming, since I was worried about my flight time, and ordered my vascobelo breakfast pretty much as soon as I sat down. It was pretty good, but the highlights for me were the jam and the cheese. Coffee and orange juice (fresh) were also pretty nice. Service was as expected in the Netherlands: smiley and efficient. At 18 euros (for the vascobelo breakfast) , I feel that I got good value for my money here. Very pleasant experience.

Stopped here for breakfast and received a typically warm Amsterdam welcome. The service was very friendly and, as ever, in perfect English (We'll never learn any Dutch on this trip). The food was delicious with generous portions giving excellent value for money. We've been really lucky on this trip finding places the locals frequent and this was another of those.

Loved it! The place has a great style and vibe. We ordered steak and frites + fresh (actually fresh) orange juice and it was delicious ❤. We'll definitely come back

Very relaxed New York Library type of interior, loved the furniture and delicious food and drinks for a reasonable price. Good friendly staff. Too bad they are planning to redecorate and change the interior to a more modern one, that is one of the unique things I would come back for. One small notice: they have no facilities to change a newborn's diaper.

Half of the things we ordered they couldn’t do because a delivery didn’t come in. That’s not a problem, but then they charged us for the things we didn’t eat. Unfortunately I only noticed after we left. Incompetent staff :(

A great place to visit and enjoy breakfast

Amazing place! Husband had the Vascobelo Burger served with Belgian fries, I had the Croque Monsieur (without cheese) with Belgian fries. He loved the sauce on the burger and the smell of the croque Monsieur completely filled the restaurant. Ambience was relaxed; jazz versions of songs played at a distinctly mellow level of volume. The menu was available in English. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

A perfect place to work either nice coffee or brunch/lunch. Lots of power sockets.

I really like this place. The atmosphere is lovely. Cakes taste like heaven and the coffee is good too. The service is good, but when it's busy it can take quite long to order as the Vascobelo places are usually short on staff. Still, overall a good place yo visit.

I went there for Sunday brunch after reading some positive reviews here. I left feeling quite disappointed. The menu looked good with a varied selection of teas and coffees. The breakfast, lunch and drinks items looked good too, albeit pricey - €7 for a glass of cava(!). I ordered the Poke Bowl but 30 minutes later (!!), the friendly waitress returned to apologize and say that it wasn't available as the kitchen had run out of rice. I thought that was quite bizarre as: 1. did it have to take so long to tell me that?; and 2. there are two supermarkets within a 50 meter radius (a kitchen staff could've bought the rice in a few minutes). I ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The food arrived almost an hour after I first sat down and was (thankfully) good; tasty salmon and eggs in a decent portion. The food and service were good overall but I have my doubts about the value for money factor.

It was so fast that I couldn't catch the carrot cake before eating. One of the best carrot cake I have ever eat, surrounded by finest Belgium white chocolate. Their latte machiato is also very good. Besides tastes, inside is really good for working and chilling. Perfect hiding spot!

Good coffie and food but we waited at least 40 minutes before we got our order.

Very bad service. No orange juice: they never even informed us when we ordered it. They did put them on the bill. No croissants. They forgot 1 of the 4 orders. It came when all others had finished. They could not not make an omelette because it wasn’t on the menu. Second round of drinks never came. Extra bread wasn’t there: they could make it it would take 15 minutes.

Me and my gf went to have some coffee but then decided to also have some food because it was already lunch time. The place is super cozy and the staff is nice, but the food was a big disappointment. I got a beyond burger (18.50 euros) with some fries that I could probably have easily done myself at home. My gf got a stew (16.50 euros) that was good but arrived half cold. I got an ice tea that was cold water with mint, ice, lemon and a barely recognizable drop of some sweet syrup that I guess was supposed to be the "iced tea" part of it. Again, the place is nice but not at all worth the prices. Will not go back.

Carrot cake is indeed the best. We also liked Benedict eggs and the atmosphere there.

I live a couple blocks from here and their coffee is excellent as are their pastries. They recently dropped the price of their coffee by a euro which was very welcome. You can't go wrong here for coffee and something sweet. This is my "go to" when I am home and don't have time to venture further.

Best latte in the city. I said what I said. Additionally, there is a calm and peaceful atmosphere here. They have unbelievably comfortable leather chairs for lounging with a coffee and a book, or unright chairs for lively conversation with friends. This location is on a corner so it has lots of windows and outdoor seating, and is in a peaceful part of town. Their food is delicious as well - they have several vegan and gluten free options on the menu in addition to meat for the carnivores. It has a very chill and professional vibe - a great place to go if searching for inspiration, connection, or peaceful solitude.
