Hidden and Cosy place in the center of Amsterdam. Great chance to enjoy authentic Dutch ambience. Dark wooden interior makes you feel even cozier once you’re inside. Good and uncomplicated menu of Dutch snacks. Good meat. Friendly staff.

Small and quiet place to have steak. The portion of caffeine drink was huge at this place. Their fries were amazing, very crispy and moderately salted. The steak was a little too salty (with not much depth in the flavour) so pairing it with salad was a must. It's highly recommended to get dessert here, their creme brulee and tiramisu were wonderful.

Authentic Dutch restaurant with wonderful service. Must make a reservation. Food was good but we enjoyed Kop van Jut and Stoop & Stoop eetcafé over this place. Both had better food and as nice of an atmosphere as Piet de Leeuw.

One of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. The food here is sublime but you have to book in advance, but it is more than worth it . The food here is absolutely incredible - I'm normally a quick eater but decided to take my time as I didn't want the experience to end. Add to that the humour and atmosphere that was added into our experience here, don't think I've been entertained by a member of staff like that in ages - I was crying laughing. More than worth a 5 star rating. Would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone. Cozy, atmospheric and quality food. You can't go wrong.

We were fortunate to stumble across this place on a Sunday evening with our 5 and 7 year old. The clientele was all adults but we were still made to feel welcome, the staff were made us all laugh. The decor was charming, but most importantly the food was delicious. Turns out it is a very well known place so we were very lucky to have stumbled across it.

Try the Horse steak! It’s tender and a bit more gamey than beef. Service is quick and efficient, prices are moderate. Atmosphere is lively yet not too loud to have a nice dinner.

I haven’t had such a good steak in ages. The staff is friendly, the meat idyllic, the ownera bit grumpy but clearly knows what he’s doing…. And the price was really honest, not cheap but not too expansive… you get much more quality than you pay for!

Prior to October 2022 the best horse steaks in town. A nice place off the beaten track we would visit often! Wonderful -typical Mokum- atmosphere where you'd instantly feel at home. Great staff and always in for a laugh.

Really good quality dishes, we especially loved the liver and bacon dish. All the staff was very welcoming and specifically Pablo was exceptional. Already visited twice in 1 week

We'd seen this place before and decided to check it out on a whim one evening - the place was packed and I imagine you'll normally need to book, always a good sign! The menu was compact and well priced, I tried the steak of the day (horse) for the first time and it was perfectly cooked medium rare and delicious - I'd go for the more expensive horse tenderloin next time as the day steak was a spicy butter which was OK but not for everyone. My wife had the beef steak in red wine sauce, also very good! We'll definitely come back and try more, the fish looked very good! Staff were polite and very efficient.

That's a great place. Food is very good (try the horse), prices are fair and service is quick. Can't go wrong with the three-course menu.

You get a really tasty and perfectly cooked steak, no frills in a the most traditional of establishments. It was recommended to me by a barman who overheard me trying to convince the wife we go should for a steak. I look forward to going again.

Following the suggestion of a bartender in the heart of Amsterdam, we took the subway to this lovely old bar to have a steak. The menu is somewhat humble, but if steak is what you're after, it's the place to go. The server has a sense of humour and treated us exceptionally well.

Very great address. Not necessarily easy to find at first sight, but well located, one street away from Amsterdam's canals. People working there provide very accurate details about their meals, and they are excellent, for a price which is truly honest for what you get served. The area is clean, there's a terrace which isn't too noisy (because not straight alongside the canals), people are great and authentically kind
