Such a nice Indian restaurant, I had a delicious chicken tikka masala, which was so buttery and flavourful. My friends had butter chicken and that was also incredibly flavourful. The atmosphere is super easy, very nice for a chill night out, and the service was perfect. We had the most friendly and kind waitress and she made our stay so lovely.

We were lucky enough to flee from the rain and end up in Ashoka. My wife loves Indian food and Ashoka delivered on some great Indian courses. We went for a three course dinner and everything tasted great! The price is also very reasonable for this level of quality food. Highly recommend this place.

Ordered from the website for delivery and this is by far the best Indian I've had in Amsterdam. My search is finally over! Everything was top quality and delicious!! I'm now a very loyal customer. We had the menu for 4 people which includes 4 main dishes and 2 desserts. It was more than enough food, perfect amount of spice and overall we were very impressed.

Authentic Indian & Nepalese food in Netherlands!! Food that reminds me of homeland India.. I know it’s a big statement but I am 100%sure about it. We ordered starters- Mint chicken tikka (yummm), steamed veg momo (what a mono) chutney can be a bit more spicy, veh platter which includes pakoras, samosa, paneer pakora everything was good. Main course - Chicken rogan josh really authentic, butter chicken and malai kofta and garlic naan everything is amazing Dessert- Gulab Jamun and Kulfi. kulfi was not that good👎but gulab jaumuns were amazing. The service was bit slow but overall good experience.

Delicious food and great service! We've been to many Indian restaurants before and this one is by far one of the best! Moreover, they also offer a vegetarian option in the tandoori dishes made from paneer cheese. We absolutely loved it! I'd recommend this restaurant to everybody who loves Indian and Nepalese food.

Amazing and authentic Nepalese food. Would highly recommend one of the bhat or thakali dishes from the Nepalese section of the menu. You get several well size curries as a platter and each is fantastic in its own right!

This genuine restaurant, which is easy to miss from the outside, should however not be missed! We were welcomed in a very kind way, the friendly service did patiently answer all our questions and advised on which spice to choose on a scale from 1-5. The food was delicious (especially to mention the veg choice of Nepalese type of "thali" with 3 different dishes included), real tasty and balanced. And great value for money. We have saved it in our favourites and will return next time we visit Ansterdam.

I had been there in July 2023. Taste of food was very good. however the team of these facilities ware not clear about cost and suggestion. we asked for food package for 2 person and they explained us 3 course meal. which finally costed us >80euro. which is almost double than normal cost in this region. especially i had asked them to explain how it will be served they did not make it clear. in short. clearly understand how much you will pay before ordering in this facility.

Food is great and service was amazing! The family working there are very kind and humble. Must try this particular branch :)

Super lekker! Recommended to me by a neighbor who raved about this place. I have to admit that I don't really know what authentic "Indian and Nepalese" food is. Of course I have had some delicious "Indian" food over the years. But either way, Ashoka is very nice! I've lived about a block away for over a year and it's my first time there, (of course half of that time it was not available due to the government pandemic restrictions). I ordered takeaway here late on a Sunday. but there were people inside, dining, having a great time. The staff was super-friendly and pleasant and even laughed at my stupid jokes. The food was amazing. HUGE portions. The naan is perfect (I bought two orders which is more than enough for two / three people)...rice is nice and light. The egg fried rice was super lekker too! Plenty of chicken in the curry meal. Something else I noted was the super-thick aluminum foil they used for their takeaway packaging. That's a sign (to me) they invest in quality. I ate too much because it was so delicious, so I worried I may have trouble sleeping with heartburn or worse, but I felt great. I think that's another sign of quality. I can't wait to dine inside. It is a very nice interior. Not a dive or unclean. I will take friends and family here whenever it's safe for them to visit. It may not appear to be the cheapest place, but don't let that distract you. It is near the center of Amsterdam in a very nice area, such high quality, clean with lots of space, it's worth it. (By the way, the Kinkerstraat part of the name is the location, since there is another location in nearby Spuistraat).

This was a great little restaurant! The service was great. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The foods were all delicious and a lot, we couldn’t finish it so we got it as a take out and had it for breakfast.

We had a fantastic time at Ashoka last night for dinner. The vegan options were clearly shown in the menu and the staff were very attentive when I told them I was vegan, and told me every sauce that was vegan - even when I wasn’t the one to order them! You can choose your spice level from mild, medium or hot which I thought was fantastic! The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced and the staff were so wonderful and attentive. I would definitely recommend this Ashoka location to everyone

I only ordered Chicken Biryani here through Uber Eats. Upon delivery, I noticed that the yoghurt sauce was missing. This happened already two times. The first time I had ordered a lot more food so I could understand something was forgotten. However, I decided to call the place up and someone, presumably the owner, was very kind to actually drop by my house to bring the sauce and also bring me some more, which was kind of unnecessary but what a nice gesture after making a mistake with the order. The food here is really great by the way. Not sure if they are open as a restaurant lately or only do deliveries. Thanks Ashoka!

An Indian hotel being run by a very humble owner from Nepal having 30 years of experience in hotel industry. The taste is comparable to any five star hotels. They have good variety of Indian food and take good care of cleanliness and hygiene. We loved the place so much.

Good food, good service. Portions are ideal size; if tou share you can definitely try more dishes.

The vibe and staff are great. Very welcoming atmosphere. The food (especially butter chicken) is superb, if your spice tolerance is low, try to avoid medium spice and with mild. I would definitely come here again!

Recently got food poisoning from here this past Friday. I have ordered from Ashoka in the past, and it was always good, but even these one off cases should not be acceptable.

I was here on 2018, July ! Such a great place for Nepali food at Amsterdam- Loved the taste, ambience and food .

Ordered from Ashoka for delivery as my usual Indian place was not open. I like to have my Indian food spicy so I selected the option to have my Biryani and Butter Chicken be 'spicy'. I was certainly very surprised (in the best way possible) as to how good the food was ! Dishes are very flavourful and the menu has a good assortment of dishes. Ashoka is now my usual Indian place as a result !
