Hotel Amstelzicht is one of the so-called "three dancing houses," a famous Amsterdam landmark dated 1659. It is located in the lively heart of Amsterdam, overlooking the Amstel river. Close to Rembrandt square, in a walking distance from most of the city sights.

Please be noted that this hotel does not have elevator. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is quite spacious but the heater is not working properly 😕

Adequate but not luxury in any way. We have just stayed for 2 nights in the family room. Which is basically a room in the basement that looks out onto next doors bins. This is a VERY dark & depressing room. We booked at the end of our holiday as a treat as we thought it to be a decent quality hotel. Unfortunately it was adequate but not particularly nice. The beds were OK and all 4 are proper singles which was a bonus- thats the best I can say. Staff were pleasant enough but when I said about the noise I was offered ear plugs as the excuse is that it's central Amsterdam. The noise was coming from footsteps above- literally all night long and we go no sleep at all. We had to keep the window closed also and the room has no aircon so it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. There are also 3 high steps down to the bathroom which meant the light on every time our 6 year old went to the bathroom in the night. Not ideal for a family room. It was OK but for the price I would have expected much better.

Nice rooms and nice staff! The hotel has a really good location in the center of Amsterdam with a busy night life around. We enjoyed our stage!

Actually the hotel was fine but just the people working there were not that kind, I would say they treat you as a customer who just comes there to pay! One of the receptionist told me checkout time is at 12-1pm between these hours! I went out before extending for my second day and it was weird they texted me you should check out or you pay 50€ for late check out 😂if you don’t know how to maybe give the exact time, you should refresh a little bit your memories ! Didn’t like the vibe seriously ! I generally give good reviews when everything is okay especially when the team is kind but here seriously 😒

I would have given it a zero star if it was allowed. Even if there was no lift our room which was on the top floor with the canal view the hotel did not provide any staff for some help with our luggage. Moreover we were denied check inn just before an hour of the official time of check inn. I saw the staff gave the keys to the receptionist of our room just as we arrived ofcourse i knew it after the room was alloted to us. Also the steps are too steep for any older person to climb. Just ruined my vacation. Regretted it to stay there. Would not even consider staying there next time.

You should not be afraid of climbing steep stairs up to your room! Typical for a house build in the 17th century. The bed was much to soft for me and it‘s not a double bed, but 2 seperate once which tend to move if you move much during the night. Our room was to the back of the building, lot‘s of noise late night due to a nearby bar. The staff of the bar tends to throw empty bottles in the trash can! Anyway, you are close to Rembrandt Plein, so not much surprise.

Staff very helpful and kind. Family room (4 people) are in a basement (windows are on the road) which also implies a different use of the wc. My fault not having read carefully when booking. Room was spacious. Hotel position is very good.

The mattresses in our room were completely shot. That's the worst part. The rest is just unique qualities of a 400 year old house. Steep stairs, so be mindful, hollow walls and creaky floors so be mindful of your volume level and step lightly as you can for a peaceful experience. No breakfast on site, but at the time of our visit the Hotel had a deal with a Restaurant called Brug34. You need a voucher from the front desk. The staff are all friendly and accommodating and I appreciated them so much! Because we are in the heart of the Canal system, you will find many places to eat, sleep and stuff your face. Souvenirs are everywhere. Boat tours are a stones throw away, shopping places are not far off and the area is very picturesque. The RLD is a few canals over if that's your jam. Many touristy cool things to do in walking and biking distance. You can totes rent bikes through this hotel. No one steels bikes here. Everyone has them, so its like an written rule that you just don't. You cannot bring cannabis or its products into the hotel, but you can smoke it, buy it and roll it anywhere outside. Tons of coffeeshops everywhere. Y'all if it's a coffee shop it's a weed shop. If it's a cafe, it's coffee. Come to Amsterdam and you can totally stay comfortable at this hotel.

So we got a dark room in the semi-basement; no a/c; ridiculous steps to the bathroom; constant noise from the outside; no view whatsoever. Overall the hospitality and service are very frustrating and unwelcoming. No quality value ratio. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Our staying in Hotel Amstelzicht was absolutely amazing. This building is one the famous "dancing houses" with a beautiful view to the Amstel river. Despite the fact that this hotel is situated in the city center is very silent to relax. The heart of the hotel was the helpful and kind staff, who know many super place in the town. We 100% sure, we'll be back.

We traveled with our two young sons and my parents and sisters, and found the stay at Amstelzicht a satisfactory experience. We stayed in the family room and a single room. The family room was very spacious and a great place to hang out (though they don't let you flush toilet paper in the toilet in that room). They also provided a travel crib for our baby at no extra cost and let us store our double stroller in the lobby, which was monitored during the day and locked at night. I found the staff professional and helpful. Thank you for a great trip!

Great little hotel. Staff is very kind and attentive. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable, but the pillows a little big for my taste. Excellent location, close to plenty of restaurants and the tram stop.

Unfortunately we could not travel due to Covid 19. My wife works at the Veterans Hospital in the Covid quarantine tent and despite telling the hotel this they only offered to give us a voucher to come back by the end of 2020. We feel a full refund is required and they have not accounted for our specific situation. My wife would risk exposing others if she travelled now which counts as an extenuating circumstance and necessitates full cancellation. Shame on the management here.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Was unable to travel due to being unwell.. hotel refused to give refund or change dates of booking.. we offered them proof with a doctors note but they was very unwilling to do anything at all for us. Paid £850 for a room and received nothing back from them. Very unhelpful and will not be using them again.

Like others have experienced, this hotel is completely unprofessional and unethical to refuse refunds to those that cannot travel because of the Dutch government travel bans during the covid crisis. EDIT: refund received months later after claiming via the European Online Dispute Resolution platform, so I was not given a refund but the hotel was forced to provide one, so my feedback does 'match the real situation'

Top floor two rooms next to eachother all for yourself is great with older kids. Served no breakfast, so honestly feels more like an appartment then a hotel. Stairs are really steep, so no suitable for everybody!

Amazing hotel in Amsterdam. TOP location! This hotel is such a plazent place. From the moment we checked-in we were made to feel at home. The room was clean and beautiful. We stayed there for one day only, but loved every moment! We’ll come back definately!

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
