Overpriced & mediocre. Had to send food back because it was cold in the middle. Initially staff had attitude about it. But reheated meal. No apology or explanation. Benefits from location on the square

Perfect central location, looking out to the square. Lovely service from all waiters. Food was delicious and arrived to the table quickly. Good selection of Italian dishes and also good choice of alcohol beverages. Happily visit this restaurant/bar again!!

Very friendly staff The food was good, we got 1. Tenderloin steak (could improve) with spaghetti 2. Chicken Pesto Pasta (very good) 3. Tomato Soup (very good) The service is a little slow

Very religious, food was not good, toilets looks to have been through a war. Also not a pleasant experience. If I ever wanted Italian in this location, I’ll just go to the closest one which isn’t this one. Not worth the pricing as well. Plus staff weren’t the greatest

Absolutely the WORST restaurant I’ve ever experienced in Amsterdam. Don’t let the outside seating deceive you! Quality of the food and customer service doesn’t match the price at all. The beef carpaccio came out as few slaps of frozen raw meat with no taste whatsoever. Pasta was overcooked. Honestly I wouldn’t eat the food even if it was for free. That bad. Also, I was seated at a 4 people table inside with a cat sitting next to me. The cat was super friendly and adorable but I’m allergic to cats. With the inside being a bit stuffy, I knew I was going to start having an allergic reaction while I’m eating, so I asked for a different table. The server refused but I didn’t take no for an answer. In the end, we were successfully able to change seats but along with a massive eye-roll and rude attitude from the server.

Don’t judge a book by its cover is how to define this restaurant. At first glance, the food looks tasty, the placement is good and everything seems very good but just you wait until you take the first bite! Never thought I would see the day where pasta could ACTUALLY taste like tap water! Absolutely horrifying experience, would not recommend it even to my worst enemy! Please if you want to continue to live without misery inside you for the rest of your life, run the farthest away from this restaurant!!!!

The did was surprisingly good. I enjoyed the Hawaiian pizza very much. I would definitely come back if I'm staying in the area, like I was. This was very close to my hotel, Hotel Frank.

Rating only food: Well, NO grazie ...ordered mixed appetizer, which is a plate full of salami, ham etc.. and they don't even give you a simple piece of bread or grissini which I ordered separately and was pretty weird bread too. Then I go for the pizza, quattro stagioni, completely tasteless and dry. Never again Madonnina, ciao ciao

workers & the owner were so lovely. It was about to close but they still took our order and allowed us to sit inside. Lovely good priced food. And the inside is so beautiful.

Great authentic Italian food. The service was quick. I had the Pepperoni Pizza, and the spicy kick was amazing. My wife had the Lasagna and Tomato salad. Both were very good dishes. Would definitely go again!

La Madonnina – Amsterdam – Netherlands It is very well-located restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, especially at night that’s where a lot of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and some clubs are located, so it’s a nice vibe in that area if you want a lively area at night. The restaurant itself is a typical tourist restaurant that you’ll find in Amsterdam or any touristic city in Europe. The food is average/ good, the service is average at best. The menu is extensive and has many options Italian and non-typical Italian food. It’s overpriced for what it is but again it’s a touristic restaurant which is understandable. The restaurant is suitable for families, children, large groups, and couples. The ambience is non-existent so the ambience is based on the square/ street it’s based on and that’s what gives it the good vibe. If you’re around the area check it out and if you’re not, don’t get out of your way. You will typically not need a booking and the wait time is immediate or a quick wait. 2 stars = Okay. The restaurant has one or two good qualities. It might be a delicious dish, helpful staff, or an inviting atmosphere. Still, you have no interest in visiting again.

We ordered Tomato soup, steak, bitterballen and fries. The soup was great, the steak was tasting like water (almost literally zero taste), the fries were fines and the salad was OK. We were quite disappointed, but we didn't leave hungry. The service was absolutely fine. Nothing extraordinary. The prices were average as well. Expect 15-35E.

Very high quality, tasty food for a very affordable price. We sat on the patio and shared a beautiful view of Rembrandt square under the heat lamps. It was a fantastic experience and we will come back next time we are in Amsterdam!

After seeing all the posts about this being a tourist trap I was a little nervous to eat here, but we were nearby and hungry so me and my boyfriend gave it a go. We both got pizzas and they weren't the best we've ever had, but they were still tasty and a great price for the size and the location of the place. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and very attentive too. They even had a chief cat on duty who was super sweet and friendly 😊 I would go again if I were in the area!

Worst experience ever! Fake Italian restaurant. The pasta completely lacked taste. We were also charged for something we didn't order, and when we complained, the manager got aggressive. We ordered an Aperol Spritz, and it came in a bottle. Also, a mouse was running between the tables. 0 stars if I could rate it that way.

Never have felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. The staff seems bored and fed up with well.... Everything and is rude to customers. The floor had about half a dish from our "predecessors" on it and half if the tables are so close together that it's impossible to not evesdrop on your neighbors supposing you could even get yourself squeezed into the chair. Diagonally across the street however, away from the square there's a really nice other Italian place

Not half that bad. We ordered a 3 pizzas and 3 times pasta. Everybody was satisfied with the food. But keep in mind you can't expect a top level italian food here. It was good but perfect, which it doesn't need to be within this price range. Only downside really was the service, one drink wasn't delivered and they didn't even recognise it. People who want affordable food, this place is a fit.

Great pasta, great vibes. Came here with my friends and we loved every second of it. Hands down the best night of my life by far. My experience here was unforgettably electric and life changing.

The food was delicious! Me and my husband came here today, the food came fast and it was a good sized portion. It had a authentic Italian flavour. He order a pizza margherita and I ordered a pasta carbonara, I definitely recommend it if u want a good, filling and affordable meal!

We would really recommend this place! The Service was welcoming and very nice! The food was very hot and delicious. I ate a good carbonara and my friend a lasagna, she enjoyed! Since we were here in the middle of the day, it was very quiet, which was nice since we could eat, read and warm up!! It was lovely, thank you very much :)

Brilliant atmosphere and service, polite and speedy service by the waiter. food was excellent and we had a good walk around before we got there and the price here was the cheapest for really good quality authentic Italian food! Would recommend to anyone!
