I am a steak lover but unfortunately, I did not love this steak. Ordered a medium-rare T-bone steak and at first, it came out rare. We sent it back and then, it was cooked the way it was supposed to. However, it really didn't matter how it was cooked because it was still the toughest and chewiest steak I've ever had. Service was good overall, but really disappointed with the food as the steak was seasonless and the French onion soup was too salty. We also ordered medium lamb chops. It was better but still chewy and lots of fatty parts.

Cool steak restaurant with friendly staffs and good food. Also, the price is ok.

AMAZING RIBS!! definitely the best in Amsterdam! Great sauce and spices! I've been here for more than 5 years and it is still holding up it's reputation. The interior really could use a makeovers, I'm getting a lot of 60's vibes from the wallpapers. Overal great restaurant and nice and friendly staff. Quick service and very good food.

Rustic feeling bar with food. We had the champagne lobster soup which was amazing and the frogs legs. Pork ribs were served with a very nice garlic sauce and the wine pairing was great!

Good food , the ribs are very good, the steak is good aswell Pricewise i would say the taste of the ribs is fair but for the steak definetly a bit too expensive: It was maybe 200 gramm for around 30 euro and it came alone without any sides which need to be ordered extra. The taste is good but the size is under average and i would probably get a way bigger similar tasting steak for that price somewhere else. The food came pretty quick. The prices for the beer i would say is also above average. Service is kind overall, on the other hand they told us that the portions of the sides are pretty big, but for that price we were getting maybe a small portion of fries.

Meet was not good. I asked for a blue rib eye steak and they brought me well done. My friends got medium well instead of rare. Rub eye meet was hard to cut. Low quality place with high prices. Food served in chipped plates.

Jesus H Christ. Food was fantastic. Surf and turf gorgeous and the staff so lovely. Book ahead as this is a must place to eat. We didn't book but they were very accommodating and found us a table. We would have gone back but it only opens at 4pm so no lunch service available.

We really enjoyed the food! We booked a table but when we got there earlier than expected, they excepted us with no issues. I really loved their homemade pepper sauce. The meat was cooked properly and very delicious, the waiters were nice and quick. Very recommended!

Initially ordered medium rare pork fillet, but it came out completely well done. I told the staff about it and they gave me a new one which was delicious. The staff were great and attentive. Only that there was a slight mistake on the table that was reserved for us, but the staff handled the error really well.

Excellent lobster soup, even more excellent spare ribs. Also you can order coffee with different types of liquor, it's pretty good but quite expensive. The service is fine, but nothing special.

So, daytime in Amsterdam and we come to the popular Sq. We sit down, and we fancy a steak. Expectations are low, positivity is high...but wow! Ribeye plus ribs was immense. Service was superb! My son said it was the best steak he has had. 10/10.

De Nachtwacht was a lovely dining experience. We sat in the window and were able to see the square. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely. We had great service from Laura and Dante, they were really attentive and had some great 90's tunes playing to keep their diners entertained. The food was delicious. Couldn't fault a thing. Great overall experience.

It has very nice location and the restaurant was packed. Inside the restaurant has to be pre-book, v chose the outdoor which still available. The service was great and they are helpful to arrange table for us. Temperature was dropping in the evening and the outdoor heater does not seem good enough. Nonetheless, with its good food n service, definitely worth to give it a try.😉

It is very popular for lots of things. To me, I love being greeted with a nice chat, laughter and really feeling like you are part of the place already. Staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable of everything they serve in the restaurant - especially with their wine selection. If you are hungry, get starters, from the smell of the Lobster soup until the snails, the aromas, the taste, if you are going with a group of friends, partner, make sure you get a taste of them. It is also a good place to go on your own! The staff will accommodate you and if you really love food, you will immerse yourself in whatever you order. Personally, I enjoy a mix of meat and fish! Turned up on the fly on a Friday night at 8pm - chances were slim but there was space at a bar table. Service was great - the staff behind the bar very nice and helpful even though I got a squirt of alcoholic cream from a cocktail in my direction - accidentally of course but it was all laughed off and the cream tasted nice so I didn’t mind! The food was exemplary - our seats offered us great views of the charcoal steak grill and the smells were wonderful. Ordered fillet steak med rare and it did come more on the rare side but I thought you know what I’ll go for it and my gosh, tastiest thing ever. Might have tipped me over the edge into full on rare steak from now on. Succulent meat and lovely taste from the grill and accompanying sauces were great. Cocktails fab too! Really nice atmosphere - sophisticated and yet relaxed! Very much recommended.

Must visit! Our waiter made the night he even gave us shots and a sparkler for my boyfriend’s birthday which was so lovely! The food was 10/10, So much flavour! Highly recommend the Amsterdam mojito cocktail! Also such a pretty restaurant to sit, very cosy!

Food was decent, but the service was rather slow, towards the end, we waited for over 45mins, had to keep getting the staff attention, only to be given a wrong bill and no sorry, nothing. I had to get another staff attention for the right bill, which is another 10mins wait. And now had to get another staff to pay while I write this, another good 15mins passed, a total of over 1hr and bill is not paid, the restaurant is not busy at the moment at all. We were seated right at the entrance table, so everytime the door opens, cold air gushes in. Would be good to have a heater right outside the door. What a disappointment for the payment part, which is my last meal in Amsterdam for this trip.

Had high expectations after seeing it on tiktok as well as seeing all the good reviews. Ended up being really disappointed though. We had the Burrata and the Beef satay as starters. The Burrata wasn‘t super creamy inside, didn’t taste that fresh, I actually prefer the one from the supermarket. The beef satay was good except for the peanut/gravy type of sauce it came with. The sauce wasn’t stated on the menu but the skewers basically came drenched in it so that might not be for everyone. For our mains we had the fillet steak and fries. The pepper sauce was great, has some type of alcohol in it though (probably cognac). We ordered one medium-rare and one rare, once they got to the table there was no difference, both were rare. It seemed like it wasn‘t just us since we witnessed multiple tables complaining about how rare their steak was (they brought it back to the kitchen but ended up arguing a bit over how it was cooked). The fries were alright, really crispy but didn’t taste special. Curry Sauce that came with the steak was good, aioli was decent, not the best, not the worst. Brownie and Vanilla Ice cream were good, not a lot that could go wrong there. Definitely not worth for the price, would recommend going somewhere else. Maybe the chef had a bad night and just got multiple orders wrong but I don‘t feel like arguing when I‘m paying that much for a meal. Overall just super disappointed.

What a lovely place! We (party of 4) didn’t have a booking but we were accommodated with a spacious table. Service was superb, friendly, attentive and fast. And food, my oh my! It was incredible. Each and everyone of us had the foodgasm moment. I would definitely recommend this place as must try when in Amsterdam. Thank you so much for lovely food and service:)

I ordered a Tomohawk steak, medium rare, but something went wrong and waiter brought a rare one - meat was not fried at all. I noticed that and informed the waiter that the steak was not good. As a reaction - the waiter simply didn’t include steak’s price in the final bill. Excellent service.

The vegetarian meal (the vegetable stew + baked potato) were extremely good and so satisfying. The baked potato was so creamy and amazing - even before the sauce was added. My husband had the steak and the snails - which he enjoyed as well.

Ribs and sirloin steak were absolutely perfect. Great beer and cocktails. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and good service

It was an incredible experience, the steak was just perfect, the waitresses covered all our needs, suggested some options based in our preferences and the environment was warm and relaxing. Perfect for a dinner date.

Had the entrecote, thought it was excellent. The wine was decent, too. My group all had good things to say about their dishes. It was packed when we arrived at around 9pm on a Wednesday evening so reservations would be best.

This place is a nice little restaurant. There is limited seating so make sure to put a reservation in before coming otherwise show up early. If you're going to walk in, do it before 6pm. I ordered the Dark n Stormy cocktail and it was made well. The frog legs were cooked in a tasty tomato sauce. Lastly I couldn't make up mind on steak or ribs so I ordered both. Both were cooked to order so well that I had to compliment the cook. The price is a bit high, but worth the quality of the food. If you're passing through Amsterdam, you must try this place out.

Great place. Kind stuff and decent prices. We order the pork ribs its a pretty large dish and its really good! My girlfriend had the lobster soup which was very tasty and the fries where perfect!

Our last visit was yesterday. I ordered the miked meet it was great the cooker needed to put a bit salt. There was a mistake with the reservation and it took 40 minutes to the food to come. But the waiter was so generous and nice to us. So we enjoyed the evening so much. Thanks.

Ordered a medium-rare ribeye, came out rare but decided to go with it. Steak was a bad cut with loads of gristle and ended up undercooked and hard to chew in the middle. It also didn't really have any seasoning.. Maybe that's why they serve it with bunch of sauces? French onion soup was alright.

One of the best restaurants we've been to in Amsterdam, the restaurant has a warm cozy feeling inside with a beautiful bar. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming not to mention the most amazing food! I had the ribs and they practically fall off the bone. Thank you for a lovely evening, we will most definitely be coming back!
