I went there for the first to check it out. I wanted to have coffee to go as they serve Illy coffee which is my favorite. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty - they had two occupied tables only. The lady host, rejected my wish and told me that they don’t do things like that. Excuse me??? This has killed my wish to come here and actually dine and I will continue to spread this experience to other as I find this VERY RUDE. You never say no to a customer especially not in establishments like these. Shame for hospitality.

Central Amsterdam classic with a French bistro vibe. We ate here with a party of 6 just before we had to attend a lecture nearby. The staff was friendly and made sure we would be done in time to attend our lecture. We had the bib gourmand menu which consisted of a starter of puree with Dutch grey shrimp, next a main dish of guinea fowl and a dessert of creme brulee. Everything had great tastes, the white and red wines we had were of good quality.

Most of the dishes were alright! But the steak I got was one of the worst I have had. It was so chewy, I couldn’t even finish it… The best dish would be the fish. But it’s not worth a revisit. Also the table we sat on leaves and dirt on it, which was not that nice.

Great location and classy ambience. Plates were not that amusing, missing some distinctive specials that can live up to the place. Also the wines proposed were sometimes underwhelming, especially the champagne list. Service was courteous and well prepared.

Whether you want to eat before a concert (very close) or spend an evening in a classic location with a cool vibe, and savour delicious food, this is the place. Atmosphere, service, wine selection and food all contribute to a wonderful experience.

Really enjoyed my lunch here. Love the fact they have loads of wines by the glass and even serve half glasses if you prefer that. Greta steak tartare though I was a tad disappointed with the salad it came with, not as good as the ones you get in French bistros. Service top notch.

Overrated. This is a very average place. Menu doesn't have much choice and the food is super average. The photos here show very nice dishes with octopus and black rice, duck confit, etc. But all they had in the menu was steak, tartare, chicken, etc. Nothing original and thus in my opinion quite expensive for what it is. Maybe I was just unlucky with the menu.

My wife and I dined here and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the wine pairings were on point. The staff was excellent and Laura was very engaging and very knowledgeable about the wine selection. We enjoyed it so much we made reservations for a week later when we were coming back through Amsterdam.
